Fox News host turns colleagues' selective outrage back on them: 'Heard no complaints!'

Jessica Tarlov is no stranger to being the sole liberal voice on a Fox News panel, and she used that voice Tuesday to turn her colleagues' conservative outrage back on them.

Tarlov cried hypocrisy during a discussion with Martha MacCallum and Tomi Lahren about Texas Democrats shirking their duties by fleeing to so-called "blue states" to prevent a quorum for a redistricting vote that favored the GOP.

President Donald Trump claimed on CNBC Tuesday that Republicans were "entitled to five more" congressional seats from the state because he said he won Texas "decisively" in last year’s presidential election.

The Texas Democratic lawmakers defied the governor and Texas attorney general's threats of arrest, with no plans to return to the state until the obvious gerrymandering is addressed.

"There was a bill in 2021 that all the Democrats supported that would have had a national ban on redistricting in this way, and all the Republicans opposed it," Tarlov began. "I also heard no complaints when Mike Johnson, just a couple weeks ago, decided to abdicate his job to say, 'Congress isn't in session anymore because I don't want to have to vote on turning over the Epstein files -- the bill put forward by Ro Khanna and Thomas Massie.' He said, 'Let's go home,' rather than talk about the fact that Donald Trump may or may not have been in there."

Tarlov added, "Be equal opportunity in your complaints about fleeing your job. At least they're doing this for a good reason."

The Texas Democrats have said they're defying the legislature in the name of democracy and are ready to face the consequences of their actions, even if that means fines and arrests.

'Cold hard facts' prove Harris 'did exactly what she needed to do': Dem on Fox News panel

Fox News' resident Democratic commentator Jessica Tarlov hit her co-hosts on "The Five" with evidence that she said shows Vice President Kamala Harris' speech at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago was a resounding success and accomplished everything it needed to do to keep her campaign on track.

"So we heard from Michelle Obama. We heard from Barack Obama. We heard from Oprah Winfrey," said anchor Jesse Watters. "Was Kamala's speech better than any of those speeches?"

"Yes, it was," said Tarlov.

Watters seemed unconvinced. "You think she really was?"

"They were all fantastic speakers," Tarlov continued. However, "I also think Kamala Harris did a really good job and did exactly what she needed to do. And you can judge how strong her speech was by the strength of Donald Trump's meltdown."

"That was a meltdown?" Watters said.

"So it starts on Truth Social while she is speaking. 'ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT ME?' In all capitals? Yes, of course, we are talking about you," said Tarlov. "Then Bret and Martha, when they inject a dose of reality, not leading in the polls ... the meltdown continued today in Las Vegas," at Trump's rally on tax policy.

She then dug into the numbers to support her case.

"The evidence of how well she did is in cold hard facts," said Tarlov. "In ratings, Trump's favorite thing, 22 percent up from Donald Trump's acceptance speech. 7.2 million raised between 11p.m. and midnight. Over the course of the entire week, ActBlue says over $100 million came in for Democratic candidates, organizations. A panel of undecided Pennsylvania voters, focus group, eight of them after watching the speech are going with Kamala Harris. Those are all hard facts that shows she did a really good job, the enthusiasm, the polls going in her direction."

Fox News host tells Democrats to 'reject your crazies' — then defends 'not crazy' Trump

Fox News' Greg Gutfeld insisted on Wednesday's edition of "The Five" that the Democratic Party needs to do more to reject their "crazies" the way Republicans do — then laughingly dismissed Democratic counterpart Jessica Tarlov when she pointed out they have done nothing to reject former President Donald Trump, who easily won renomination for the third time in a row despite inciting a riot at the U.S. Capitol four years ago.

"You know, we reject our crazies," said Gutfeld. "It's time for you guys to reject them. Give me a crazy person. I'll reject 'em."

"Donald Trump," Tarlov shot back.

"See, that's your problem," Gutfeld retorted. "He's not crazy. That's your problem ... there's nothing he believes in that even comes close to tampons for boys!"

Gutfeld is referring to Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz signing a bill that made menstrual products available for free in school restrooms throughout the state, but did not explicitly include a provision limiting them to girls' restrooms — a fact that Trump's surrogates have targeted as a point of contention.

This came during a segment in which several hosts in the panel tried to attack Walz's service in the Army National Guard, focusing on the fact that he retired after 24 years of service, a few months before his unit was called up for the Iraq War.

In recent weeks, Gutfeld has stirred controversy repeatedly, comparing President Joe Biden to the last days of Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler, and suggested America might have to have another civil war because "elections don't work."

'His unit thinks he's a coward!' Shouting erupts on Fox News over Walz's military service

A panel on Fox News' "The Five" erupted into chaos on Wednesday when resident Democratic commentator Jessica Tarlov chided the rest of the group for echoing the Trump campaign's attacks on Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz's military service, following his selection as Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate.

Specifically, Trump's running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance's claim that Walz, who served in the Army National Guard for decades, abandoned his unit by retiring just before he was deployed to Iraq — even though those orders came several months after Walz retired to run for Congress, and even though neither Walz nor Vance ever served in a combat role.

"So obviously, this was going to come up because the Trump campaign manager was the one behind the John Kerry Swift Boat attack, which was obviously very persuasive to people," said Tarlov. "He served for 24 years, honorably, then he stopped to run for Congress on a platform of ending the war, and I don't think that anyone, especially with Donald Trump at the top of a ticket, he dodged the draft four or five times, bone spurs, Captain Bone Spurs."

"Bone spurs are a very serious issue, Jessica," shouted Greg Gutfeld.

"[Trump] said that people who had gotten captured, 'suckers and losers,'" said Tarlov, as the rest of the group erupted and insisted Trump denied ever saying the latter. "He denied he slept with Stormy Daniels but that obviously hasn't worked out for him. I don't think you should ever say anyone who served didn't do a good job in this. If J.D. Vance wants to get into that tit-for-tat, he was in the public affairs department. It's just a fact of all of this. I don't think he should be going there with Tim Walz. I think that everyone who has served—"

"He was in a war zone," snapped Jesse Watters. "He was in Iraq."

"He was a reporter," said Tarlov.

"He was in Iraq, Jessica," said Watters. "He was in the Marines. And this guy left his unit ... Listen, it doesn't matter what I think, Jessica, his unit thinks he's a coward."

"It's not true!" exclaimed Tarlov.

'Laughing will be the undoing of your side': Fox News hosts erupt over 'Tampon Tim' jab

Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) wants women to have tampons and pads if needed.

For generations, school restrooms have had ancient machines on the wall selling feminine hygiene products to kids who might need them if they start menstruating at school.

Walz, who has a daughter, signed a bill as governor to ensure that any child who needs such a product can have it for free.

So, when Walz was named Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate, Stephen Miller, an ex-adviser to former President Donald Trump, rushed to ridicule the governor as "Tampon Tim."

Chaya Raichik, who runs the fringe site "Libs of TikTok" then photoshopped Walz's face on a Tampax tampon box.

“Tampon Tim is hands down the best political nickname ever,” conservative Liz Wheeler posted on X. “It’s so… savagely effective. In one word tells you EVERYTHING you need to know about Tim Walz’s dangerous radicalism.”

Speaking Wednesday on "The Five," Fox's Jesse Watters mocked "Tampon Tim." His co-host, Jessica Tarlov, pointed to the "pink tax" and what it's like for girls who get their periods for the first time in school but don't have access to supplies.

"It's not about women!" shouted Watters.

"It is about women!" Tarlov shouted back.

"Women can get as many tampons as they want!" ranted Watters.

Tarlov explained that if there is a girl who identifies as male, they are still going to have a period in that bathroom.

It prompted Watters to break into laughter.

"Your laughing is going to be the undoing of your side," Tarlov said.

The "radicalism" Wheeler and others like her references that the pads and tampons are in both boys' and girls' bathrooms.

As one graphic designer and cancer caregiver pointed out, "Harping on them being in both bathrooms is also fairly dumb. All it means was that if a girl had to use the boys room in an emergency (this does happen) she would have the supplies she needs. How hard is this to undrstand?"

Women have also fought over the years to eliminate what is being called the "pink tax," or the sales taxes or value-added tax (VAT) that women must pay for feminine hygiene products like tampons and pads. The argument by activists is that women are unfairly financially penalized for biology.

Tarlov's comments reference the trouble that Republicans are having with women by trying to control reproductive freedom, monitoring menstrual cycles, banning birth control, and other topics.

Fox News host delivers searing takedown of colleague's 'socialist' attack against Tim Walz

Fox News' Jessica Tarlov on Tuesday set the record straight on Tim Walz's history as Minnesota's governor and as a congressman representing the state.

During the latest episode of "The Five," Tarlov took direct aim at co-host Jesse Watters, who The Washington Post's Jeremy Barr reported last month, said: "Kamala is even more radical and incompetent than old Joe Biden," calling Vice President Harris a "'California socialist," and claiming she's "even more unpopular than the most unpopular president in American history."

Watters on Tuesday called Walz a socialist, to which Tarlov shot back: "Governor Walz brings a lot of experience that she wanted on the ticket. Not only in his time in Congress, where he was, I think, the seventh most conservative Democrat. Someone who is a gun owner. Someone who does have those midwestern values. But his executive experience in Minnesota. Jesse just radiated some of them — the attacks on him as a socialist."

She emphasized, "I don't know what kind of socialist runs number six best state in America for big business. Target is there for a reason, 3M, United Healthcare, General Mills are there for a reason. And the kinds of things that he has gotten passed are exactly the kinds of things that Kamala Harris wants to talk about — things like paid sick leave, $2.3 billion into public schools, a huge infrastructure bill."

Tarlov went on to compare Walz's leadership to Republican leaders' like Arkansas' Sarah Huckabee Sanders' way of governing.

"What you're going to see is the right trying to define him as Jesse did," the Democratic Fox News host continued.

"But you're going to see that side-by-side picture of Tim Walz after he signed free school breakfast and school lunch, and someone like Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who is a star in the Republican Party — got a prime speaking spot at the RNC — signing a bill to allow kids under 16 to be able to work. That is the contrast here. A guy who wants to put food in people's bellies, and someone who wants kids to be able to work. He is the real deal. He is what JD Vance wishes that he were."

Fox News panelist blasts Vance's 'chameleon' dig: You called Trump 'America's Hitler'

Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) is in no position to lecture Vice President Kamala Harris about her identity, Fox News' resident Democratic strategist Jessica Tarlov said on Friday's edition of "The Five."

This comes as Vance, the running mate of former President Donald Trump, defends the former president for his explosive comments at the National Association of Black Journalists, in which he questioned Harris' racial identity.

“Look, all he said is that Kamala Harris is a chameleon,” Vance told reporters while visiting the southern border in Cochise County, Arizona. “She is everything to everybody, and she pretends to be somebody different depending on which audience she is in front of. I think it’s totally reasonable for the president to call that out, and that’s all he did.”

Vance gave as examples the fact that Harris spent her teen years in Canada and the fact that she engaged in verbal code-switching at her recent rally in Atlanta.

None of this sat right with Tarlov, who pointed out to her Fox co-hosts that Vance's entire political brand was rebuilt as MAGA from the ground up when he wanted to run for Senate in Ohio, and that just a few years before that, he was comparing Trump to a Nazi.

" J.D. Vance calling Kamala Harris a 'chameleon,' when he's now running with a man who he said might be 'America's Hitler,' is beyond comprehension," said Tarlov.

All of this comes at a moment when Harris, who secured enough votes Friday to win the Democratic nomination, is expected in the next couple of days to announce her own running mate in the 2024 presidential race.
