Jesse Watters sparks firestorm as 'absolutely disgusting' joke on Fox News backfires

Fox News host Jesse Watters was called out online Thursday after trying to crack an off-color rape joke that backfired.

The co-host of "The Five" commented on Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's plan to screen troops for low testosterone when he attempted to make a crack, which left his fellow hosts silent.

"You know what's going to happen? The guys that don't need it are gonna take it — triple boost. And then they're going to get out there and women on base, you better be careful," Waters said. "Port calls, women in Asia, you better be careful. Because these guys are going to be wild animals and you better watch out."

His fellow panelists appeared stunned by the remarks. The internet had plenty to say.

"This guy holds the undisputed crown for brainless commentary," journalist Carla Marinucci wrote on X.

"Please tell me joking about rape has not become acceptable on your network, @FoxNews?" Travis Akers, a retired intel officer, wrote on X.

"Fox News is joking about rape," Alleria, a prominent YouTuber and liberal political commentator, wrote on X.

"What an absolutely disgusting statement, but not surprised since Fox News and Republicans support rapists *cough cough Donald Trump cough cough*," progressive political commentator Kellen wrote on X.

"'And fellas, couldn't hurt to keep a jar of Vaseline handy in case the girls won't play!'" Michael McKean, actor and comedian, wrote on X.

"Jesse espousing rape because guys on testosterone can't help themselves. JFC," user Mz. Cabibi, a probation officer and veteran, wrote on X.

Karoline Leavitt unleashes defensive rant after 'laziness' comment sparks fury

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt took to social media to defend a controversial interview she gave to Fox News that spurred an immediate backlash.

Leavitt, 28, blamed "bad faith actors" she said took her comments on Jesse Watters Primetime on Thursday "out of context" when they reported she accused fellow members of her generation of "laziness."

"This interview was about the rise of communism on the Left, and I was asked by Jesse Watters why so many young people are buying the false promise of 'free stuff' being sold by communist politicians," Leavitt wrote on X.

"My answer: a combination of laziness, yes, and the liberal indoctrination that has been taking place in our education system for far too long."

On Thursday, Watters slammed Gen Z supporters of Democratic Socialists such as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, arguing they wanted an end to inflation because they were too lazy to get "real jobs," the Daily Beast reported.

When Watters accused Gen Z of complaining too much, Leavitt was quick to pile on criticism.

"I hate to say it, Gen Z and those younger than me have been raised with just silver spoons in their mouths, just getting everything handed to them," she reportedly told Watters. "That's not the values this country was built on... It was built on meritocracy."

As the Daily Beast pointed out, "Experts have long noted that the viability of the American Dream has waned since the end of World War II, with some researchers saying that each successive generation has fared worse than the last."

It's also worth noting Leavitt represents a man who reportedly received $413 million from his real estate developer father and herself married a real estate developer 32 years her senior worth a reported $6 million.

Leavitt apparently took umbrage with any criticism of her commentary as she felt obligated to share video of the interview along with a 400-word screed.

But Leavitt didn't back down from her claim that her generation was misguided.

"There are far-left educators pumping students’ heads with garbage, convincing them that hard work and sacrifice won’t pay off down the road because they want them totally reliant on the government instead," she wrote. "I care enough about our country to tell uncomfortable truths."

She did throw them some praise.

"At the same time, it’s also true that many Gen Z Americans are hardworking, entrepreneurial, and deeply patriotic, and it’s vital we protect the American Dream for them," wrote Leavitt. "I will continue to call out the radical Democrats, socialists, and communists who are lying to our youth."

Fox News host ridiculed over New York City tirade: 'He’s historically illiterate'

Fox News host Jesse Watters was mocked for ranting and dropping unfounded claims about New York City during a live broadcast on Friday.

The conservative host of "The Five" was responding to President Donald Trump's comments about New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani's rent freeze, which was approved by the New York City Board, and remarks about what the president called "commies."

"I just found out — New York City — half of the city is on Medicaid," Watters said. "Twenty percent of the city is on food stamps, five percent of the city lives in the projects, 70 percent of the city is not white, 40 percent of the city wasn't even born in America. We're going down a dangerous road."

Social media users reacted to the Fox News personality's comments.

"He’s historically illiterate: 40% of NYC, a higher percentage than now, was foreign born in 1910 (!) This is not new," Zeteo’s Mehdi Hasan wrote on X.

"Jesse needs a history lesson. Here are the percentages of NYC foreign born residents going back to 1850 (Source: US Census). This is nothing new and it's not dangerous. What really bothers him is the "not white" part," Geoff Brown, political commentator and retired school district administrator, wrote on X.

"Jesse Watters 100% full of s---," Navy veteran Louella Hopkins wrote on X.

"That's how New York has always been you racist little t--- waffle," political commentator Rodger Williams wrote on X.

Fox News' Jesse Watters hammered over affair as he attacks candidate: 'Sit this one out'

Fox News host Jesse Watters attacked a Democratic candidate for being unmarried — and onlookers were quick to point out that the anchor had an affair with his own producer — suggesting he might not be an authority on marriage or fidelity.

Watters was talking about Texas Democratic Senate candidate, Rep. James Talarico, who conservatives have increasingly attacked in recent days. Watters started taking personal shots at Talarico during the live broadcast on Wednesday night.

"He's also 37 and not married, let's get into this. He says, just recently, that he has a girlfriend and they've been together for four years and he called her his best friend and she was his rock, and he's not revealing her identity because he wants to respect her privacy and keep her safe during the campaign," Watters said.

"Now, if the campaign has only been going on for less than a year, and they've been dating for four years, why have we never seen this woman before?" Watters asked. "Basically what I'm saying is, does she exist? We're going to find out because if he wins, are they going to have a coming out party or is she still going to stay the secret girlfriend?"

Watters, who had an affair with Emma DiGiovine, ended up leaving his wife, Noelle Watters, and later marrying DiGiovine. People reported that during an episode of Fox News' "The Five" in 2022, Watters admitted he "let the air" out of his now wife's tires when he "was trying to get [her] to date" him.

"She couldn't go anywhere. She needed a lift, I said, 'Hey, you need a lift?' She hopped right in the car," Watters said.

The internet unleashed their thoughts on Watters immediately after his comments on Talarico.

"And you had an affair with your 20-something producer after stalking her, then left your wife and kids for her," Ally Sammarco, Democratic strategist and former Republican with more than 99,000 followers, wrote on X.

"Jesse Watters cheated on his wife and the mother of his two daughters with a Fox News producer. She divorced him and he married the producer. He should sit this one out," user Amandasmylife, a frequent anti-MAGA political commentator who has more than 20,000 followers, wrote on X.

"I just want to remind you that Watters thinks eating soup in public is effeminate. Gestures, symbols. These are for him what manliness is made of," John Stoehr, editor of the Editorial Board, wrote on X.

"I dislike Talarico for his policies. Attacking his personal life is just wrong. Especially by those throwing stones in glass houses. @JesseBWatters didn’t you have an affair with a 25-year-old associate producer at Fox when you were 38, and abandoned the mother of your twin daughters when they were just 8 years old?" Raphael Schreiber, legislative director for Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and a former member of the Conservative Partnership Institute, wrote on X.

'Absolutely!' CNN panel slams Trump commerce secretary's 'conflict of interest'

CNN's Inside Politics' panel slammed Donald Trump's Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick Thursday for blatantly promoting Tesla stock in an effort to help owner Elon Musk.

Tesla has seen its stocks slump since Musk's affiliation with President Donald Trump and stewardship of the vastly unpopular Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), that has slashed whole departments and thousands of government jobs. Well-publicized recalls of Tesla vehicles, including Cybertrucks that had their parts fall off, have not helped the situation.

According to Business Insider, Tesla shares have "plummeted 53% from record highs reached in mid-December."

"Apparently there's a push to buy Tesla stock from the commerce secretary," Manu Raju said to introduce a clip of Fox News, where Lutnick told Jesse Watters about the benefits of buying Tesla stock.

As Lutnick gave a full-throated endorsement of Tesla, vehicles were seen smoldering, set ablaze by Musk protesters throwing Molotov cocktails in Las Vegas.

"I think if you want to learn something on this show tonight, buy Tesla!" Lutnick told host Jesse Watters. "It's unbelievable that this guy's stock is this cheap. It will never be this cheap again. When people understand the things he's building, the robots he's building, the technology he's building, people are going to be dreaming of today and Jesse Watters, and thinking, 'Gosh, I should have bought Elon Musk's stock. I mean, who wouldn't invest in Elon Musk?"

After the clip ended, Raju interjected, "I mean, this is the commerce secretary telling people to buy Tesla stock. And this is after Trump tried to sell Teslas on the White House lawn!"

"Yeah, nice to have friends in high places, right, for your business?" quipped Leigh Ann Caldwell, chief Washington correspondent for Puck.

She continued, "This is absolutely a conflict of interest! You know, the Federal Election Commission, I'm sure is not really going to do anything about it. But, I mean, yeah, it's untoward. It's not what's supposed to happen. And we obviously see what the political and personal benefit is for Donald Trump and Elon Musk."

She added that Musk "is funding Republican candidates around the country, too."

"And he will continue to do that, and I suspect they'll continue to push from the White House and administration to help Tesla," Raju said.

'Men should not move this way': Fox News host and guest befuddled by Tim Walz's hugs

Tim Walz's body language befuddled Fox News host Jesse Watters and his guest Wednesday night.

Watters jabbed "twitchy Tim" on his show "Jesse Watters Primetime" as he played a clip of Walz waving to a crowd in Philadelphia with both hands.

"Here's twitchy Tim on stage waving profusely in a very unsettling manner. Very unsettling. Men should not move this way. It's not the way we move."

Watters then homed in on Walz's handshake with his wife.

"The handshake is probably the most telling," said Watters. "This is Walz and his wife shaking hands like business associates. Followed by a weird hug."

Watters compared the interaction with that of Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff.

"Interesting. What's going on here?" Watters asks as his guest, Fox News contributor Joe Concha, laughs.

Concha chimes in that when he sees his wife at speaking events, he also likes to give her a hug and a kiss.

"I'm not shaking her hand like I'm at a State Farm convention," he said. "But that's what we saw here with Tim Walz. Some might call this 'weird.' That's the only adjective that comes to mind right now."

Watters then asserts that Walz's hug is "not the way you hug your wife."

"You hug your wife from the body," Watters said, using his own body to explain. "Different than he hugged Doug."

"It was very sumo-wrestling-like, almost, right?" retorts Concha.

"He was going to take him out!" Watters responds as he laughs. "He loves Doug!"

'His unit thinks he's a coward!' Shouting erupts on Fox News over Walz's military service

A panel on Fox News' "The Five" erupted into chaos on Wednesday when resident Democratic commentator Jessica Tarlov chided the rest of the group for echoing the Trump campaign's attacks on Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz's military service, following his selection as Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate.

Specifically, Trump's running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance's claim that Walz, who served in the Army National Guard for decades, abandoned his unit by retiring just before he was deployed to Iraq — even though those orders came several months after Walz retired to run for Congress, and even though neither Walz nor Vance ever served in a combat role.

"So obviously, this was going to come up because the Trump campaign manager was the one behind the John Kerry Swift Boat attack, which was obviously very persuasive to people," said Tarlov. "He served for 24 years, honorably, then he stopped to run for Congress on a platform of ending the war, and I don't think that anyone, especially with Donald Trump at the top of a ticket, he dodged the draft four or five times, bone spurs, Captain Bone Spurs."

"Bone spurs are a very serious issue, Jessica," shouted Greg Gutfeld.

"[Trump] said that people who had gotten captured, 'suckers and losers,'" said Tarlov, as the rest of the group erupted and insisted Trump denied ever saying the latter. "He denied he slept with Stormy Daniels but that obviously hasn't worked out for him. I don't think you should ever say anyone who served didn't do a good job in this. If J.D. Vance wants to get into that tit-for-tat, he was in the public affairs department. It's just a fact of all of this. I don't think he should be going there with Tim Walz. I think that everyone who has served—"

"He was in a war zone," snapped Jesse Watters. "He was in Iraq."

"He was a reporter," said Tarlov.

"He was in Iraq, Jessica," said Watters. "He was in the Marines. And this guy left his unit ... Listen, it doesn't matter what I think, Jessica, his unit thinks he's a coward."

"It's not true!" exclaimed Tarlov.

'Laughing will be the undoing of your side': Fox News hosts erupt over 'Tampon Tim' jab

Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) wants women to have tampons and pads if needed.

For generations, school restrooms have had ancient machines on the wall selling feminine hygiene products to kids who might need them if they start menstruating at school.

Walz, who has a daughter, signed a bill as governor to ensure that any child who needs such a product can have it for free.

So, when Walz was named Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate, Stephen Miller, an ex-adviser to former President Donald Trump, rushed to ridicule the governor as "Tampon Tim."

Chaya Raichik, who runs the fringe site "Libs of TikTok" then photoshopped Walz's face on a Tampax tampon box.

“Tampon Tim is hands down the best political nickname ever,” conservative Liz Wheeler posted on X. “It’s so… savagely effective. In one word tells you EVERYTHING you need to know about Tim Walz’s dangerous radicalism.”

Speaking Wednesday on "The Five," Fox's Jesse Watters mocked "Tampon Tim." His co-host, Jessica Tarlov, pointed to the "pink tax" and what it's like for girls who get their periods for the first time in school but don't have access to supplies.

"It's not about women!" shouted Watters.

"It is about women!" Tarlov shouted back.

"Women can get as many tampons as they want!" ranted Watters.

Tarlov explained that if there is a girl who identifies as male, they are still going to have a period in that bathroom.

It prompted Watters to break into laughter.

"Your laughing is going to be the undoing of your side," Tarlov said.

The "radicalism" Wheeler and others like her references that the pads and tampons are in both boys' and girls' bathrooms.

As one graphic designer and cancer caregiver pointed out, "Harping on them being in both bathrooms is also fairly dumb. All it means was that if a girl had to use the boys room in an emergency (this does happen) she would have the supplies she needs. How hard is this to undrstand?"

Women have also fought over the years to eliminate what is being called the "pink tax," or the sales taxes or value-added tax (VAT) that women must pay for feminine hygiene products like tampons and pads. The argument by activists is that women are unfairly financially penalized for biology.

Tarlov's comments reference the trouble that Republicans are having with women by trying to control reproductive freedom, monitoring menstrual cycles, banning birth control, and other topics.

Fox News host slams Walz over tampons — and changing flag to 'look more like Somalia'

Following Vice President Kamala Harris' selection of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate, Fox News host Jesse Watters unleashed a tirade against him, painting him as a radical and appearing to reference a bizarre conspiracy theory from the far-right corners of the internet that Walz is trying to push Islamic influence in his state.

"This guy put tampons in boys' bathrooms," said Watters. "Fourth-grade boys' bathrooms, tampons. He wants [critical race theory] taught. He was all about toppling the Columbus statue. This guy changed the flag of the state to look more like Somalia! What is wrong with this guy?"

Watters is referring to Minnesota's decision last year to replace the state flag it has used since 1983, which consisted of simply the state seal on a field of blue and was widely regarded as dull, and which also included a portrayal of an indigenous figure widely seen as offensive. The design was replaced by one with a simpler and more distinguishable design, consisting of a white eight-pointed North Star in a blue, stylized shape of the state, all against a field of turquoise.

The flag of Somalia contrasts to Minnesota's flag in that it features a white, five-pointed star against a solid blue background of a different shade. The symbolism and colors also carry different meanings on each flag.

However, some pro-Trump figures have tried to draw a connection between the two, with some trying to claim it's the influence of the Somalian ex-pat population living in Minneapolis, or Rep. Ilhan Omar, one of America's first female Muslim members of Congress, who came to America as a refugee from Somalia.

Most prominently, Mike Lindell, the election-denying CEO of MyPillow who is himself a Minnesota native, agreed with Steve Bannon in an interview earlier this year that the new flag was an "Islamic symbol" and raged, "It's an atrocity! Everybody's going, what is this? Is this a takeover? This is like a Trojan horse here in Minnesota, Steve. When they started pouring in, they don't love our country."

Watters, who has garnered attention for a number of controversial on-air remarks over the years, just last week attacked Algerian Olympic boxer Imane Khelif based on false claims that she was transgender, saying, "All of these international Olympic committees are corrupt ... We're now at the point where we're going to give gold medals to men for beating up women."

Fox News host on Olympic boxer: We're giving 'gold medals to men for beating up women'

Multiple prominent Fox News hosts doubled down on right-wing attacks against an Olympic boxer who defeated her opponent in under a minute and has since faced a deluge of smears on social media, including from former President Donald Trump and his running mate, J.D. Vance.

Algerian Imane Khelif defeated Italian boxer Angela Carini when Carini forfeited. Khelif is a woman from birth and has naturally occurring high levels of testosterone. She was excluded from competition last year for failing an unspecified gender eligibility test, leading many right-wing commentators to falsely claim she is transgender or a "biological man."

The fight became a talking point for right-wingers, with Trump saying being punched by Khelif would be "like getting hit by a horse" and Vance saying "This is where Kamala Harris's ideas about gender lead: to a grown man pummeling a woman in a boxing match."

On Friday, Fox News' afternoon show "The Five" waded into the fray, including anchor Jesse Watters, who suggested that Olympic committees "got greased" by Khelif.

"All of these international Olympic committees are corrupt," he said.

Watters added that "whenever you have a trans situation in anything, it gets a lot of publicity. So they're probably thinking this is great publicity."

But, he suggested, "We're now at the point where we're going to give gold medals to men for beating up women. We might have a gold and silver medalist who just beat up a bunch of women. They're going to stand up on the podium with a bunch of medals around their neck for punching girls in the face!"

When fellow co-host Jessica Tarlov tried to interject and say, "No one is saying that they're men, they're not men," Watters doubled down.

"They're men. Everybody knows they're men, Jessica. And if Trump were president he would slap Algeria with sanctions."
