'No one said that': CNN host snaps at Scott Jennings in blow-up over Trump pick

A CNN panel discussion on an answer Education Secretary Linda McMahon gave in a Congressional hearing on Wednesday led to a blow-up between host Abby Phillip and conservative contributor Scott Jennings.

At the center of the dispute which had everyone at the table talking over each other and Jennings growing increasingly furious was McMahon's awkward answer about the teaching of the Holocaust.

Asked by Rep. Mark Takano (D-CA) a hypothetical question about whether Harvard University possibly denying a job to a Holocaust denier would be a “ideological litmus test," she replied, "I believe there should be diversity of viewpoints relative to teachings and opinions on campuses.”

After sharing the clip, host Phillip asked her panel about the response, which led an incensed Jennings to complain it was a "patently ridiculous question,” while accusing liberal members of the panel of accusing McMahon of being a Holocaust denier.

"This is outrageous," Jennings complained.

"Hold on, hold on, " Phillip cautioned the conservative as he continued to rant. "Excuse me, Scott. Everybody stop, everybody stop for a second."

"Excuse me Scott," she continued speaking directly to Jennings. "Nobody accused her of being a Holocaust denier."

"You're implying that that is what she was!" Jennings protested.

"No one did that," the CNN host shot back as he continued to talk over her causing her to admonish him, "It is completely disingenuous for you to sit at this table and say that we accused her of being a Holocaust denier."

"Absolutely no one said that," she added.
