A New York Republican-turned Democrat who once voted for President Donald Trump went scorched earth over the president's "total chain of lies" during a C-SPAN broadcast Friday of Washington Journal.

A caller named Russell called into the program and said he was a 73-year-old former conservative who "stepped over the line" and voted for Trump in 2016.

"Man, one month into his presidency, he started this Mar-a-Lago, flying home every weekend and winter White House — this president — I don't even like to use that word — and his vice president will definitely [get] us into a war, into some kind of big war. And this time, America, I'm afraid we are not gonna be the victors. We're not the most powerful anymore. We're the nastiest."

During his tirade, Russell said he was born in the same Queens hospital as Trump, and has "never seen such disgusting things that are happening."

"This is nothing but corruption, and this country is heading down the road to failure. I'm totally disgusted what he's done to farmers and so many people that supported him. It's been nothing but a total chain of lies since this has begun."

Russell concluded by warning that the administration wants to take away free press, too.
