South Park continues to spark outrage from MAGA after its latest episode took aim at President Donald Trump’s tariff policy, igniting an online firestorm from many Trump loyalists, some of whom accused the show’s creators of being in the pocket of the Democratic Party.
“Wow,” wrote X user “Kentucky Girl,” a self-described “MAGA constitutional conservative” and “patriot” with more than 45,000 followers, in response to a social media post Wednesday night promoting the new South Park episode. “Total sellouts for the [Democratic National Committee] now.”
Airing late Wednesday night, the latest South Park episode chronicles one of the characters’ struggles in purchasing a Chinese doll amid Trump’s so-called ‘reciprocal’ tariffs, which have seen a litany of American companies forecast price increases, and some companies outright discontinue exporting certain goods to the United States.
The episode marks a continuation of South Park’s relentless criticism of the Trump administration in its 27th season, and like past episodes, continues to spark fury from conservatives and Trump loyalists alike.
“South Park is bought and paid for,” wrote X user “Geoffrey Sirois,” who’s followed by conservative Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and shares Elon Musk and anti-immigration content. “[No] question at this point.”
Others went on to decry the show as having gone “woke.”
“Why are you guys woke now,” wrote X user “Izriel,” who frequently shares Musk content.
“Is South Park going woke?” wrote X user “Colby Snodgrass,” who describes themself as an “America only nationalist;”
“[South Park] is lost,” wrote X user “BasedLadydi,” who describes herself as a “woman who loves Trump and capitalism.”
“South Park has finally missed the mark just because the libs of Colorado who produce it love the demonic stuff and have it in for Trump,” wrote X user “Freedom by Principle,” a self-described conservative.
Wow. Total sellouts for the DNC now.
