There is no question that this is being caused by Chemical contrails. Metal particulates such as aluminum and barium sprayed by military cargo planes are destroying the immune systems of every living thing that comes into contact with it. For more information I recommend watching the video “Aerosol Crimes” which is linked below. You will not believe how blatant this activity is until you look into the sky and recognize it yourself.

This is the same phenomenon which is wiping out our bee population.

When I was a little girl, I remember my grandfather teaching me to recognize the song of the bobwhite. I was so proud to be able to name a bird just from its song. I was often able to proudly “show-off” my knowledge; whenever I was anywhere outdoors I was usually able to hear a bobwhite. Twenty years later, I cannot recall the last time I hear that bird call.

      This is very sad.

A single domestic cat can kill up to 3000 wild animals with over half of them being songbirds. Lets say only 1/3 of cats are hunters and 1/3 of the wild animals are wild birds. Do the math! It calculates out to billions of wild birds eaten or killed annually by domestic and feral cats. The problem could be solved overnight but they would never initiate a program to aleviate the problem. There is more money to be made in having the problem then in fixing it.
      Rich.

    14. Diana111 Says:

Chemtrails, pesticides, fertilizers and of course, ELF…..the nastiest of all. Thousands of birds dropped from the skies near the Kuwait/Iraq Border for no “apparent” reason. There is a war being waged on all living things on this planet.

    15. HOUNDDAWG Says:

The SOUTHEASTERN QUAIL STUDY COMMITTEE determined that in addition to farmers clear cutting and using pesticides that kill all of the yummy insects that nesting quail need to feed their young, fragmented habitat forces birds to cross highways for water and cover, and there are too many predators contributing to the plummeting quail populations.

Motion detector-activated cameras also showed that skunks and free roaming house cats attack nests in shocking numbers. These coupled with too many avian and other mammalian predators have doomed the Prince Of Game Birds, The Bobwhite Quail.

“FOOD, WATER, COVER, SPACE and ARRANGEMENT.”

Remove any of these and animals are in trouble.

Over here in England we have the same problem.

Sparrows used to be seen in their hundreds of thousands in London. The cockney Sparrer. The common household sparrow. Now we see none! They have vanished. They can still be found in country areas but they have not been seen in London for at least ten years.

having been a member of Bird Studies of Canada for a few years now, I am painfully aware of the yearly decline in the number of visitors to my backyard feeders…when will we ever learn?

    19. tim_hart Says:

O.K. so here is the deal. Many of the birds across the US migrate from Texas. Our issue here is not pollution by man, but rather invasion by a insect that is killing off the wild bird species . Texas A&M has proven this. Will we be able to respond to the “Fire Ant” in time? Many of the effective chemical controls have been outlawed for the bird’s protection and this has allowed the Fire Ant to destroy more wild birds that at first thought possible. The quail in our area is almost non-existent and the red birds are all gone. This has all been proven to be directly related to Fire Ants. Now our over reaction to insecticides has caused what may be an irreversible destruction of wild birds. Check it out for yourself. You will be surprised what you find out about the fire ant.

    20. ClamBob Says:

Today’s Daytona Beach News-Journal had this article about local — non-migrating — pelicans disappearing. http://www.news-journalonline.com/NewsJournalOnline/Opinion/Columnists/Fresh/colFRESH123107.htm

The island mentioned has been called bird island since I can remember my father taking me onto the river. Now the birds are gone.

    21. carolwalberg Says:

I agree about the birds. Why people who call themselves bird lovers put out bird feeders and then let their cats out to kill the birds is beyond me.
And for those who say it is nature, I say it would be nature if the cats needed food but these well-fed cats are let out to prey on birds for sport or fun.
No doubt about it, domestic and feral cats are killing millions of song birds every year and nobody seems to care.

    22. The Soylent Gringo Says:

I agree about the cats (I’m a huge Cat lover too)but blame humans first, and the fire ants are probably contributing factor for some species but they can not possibly attribute to the world-wide decline of birds as much as overall habitat destruction, huge corporate farms and their practice of growing one type of crop(monoculture), clearcutting, and the rampant cancerous acceleration of suburban developement. We can’t compartmentalize the land with Genetically Modified (GM)monocutured crops and expect biodiversity will continue.
“Chemtrails” (Barium/Alluminum Aerosols) and the associated EMF/ELF fields associated with the related GWEN towers that are beings set up in a grid-like pattern over the entire planet are a very likely culprit as well. This includes affecting the Honey Bee population.
Folks, this is a catastrophe, and while there exists a solution to all these problems (use of pesticides NOT being one), people need to wake up the fact that the inmates are running the assylum. But considering so many people leaving their will to God(such as His Will), blindly trusting our warmongering “leaders” and not taking personal responsibility and/or helping, we can kiss our asses goodbye.

“Blessed is the state that hides it’s most egregious crimes behind a smokescreen of incompetance.” Jeff Wells

    23. The Soylent Gringo Says:

Even though I agree with the fact that cats do kill untold numbers of birds, I just have to say blaming cats is so ludicrously naive, and focuses on a symptom, not the causal level. HUMANS invade and develop the land, stripping it from all vestiges of it’s original flora/fauna, build houses, strip malls, WallMarts, pave it over with roads and divide it with fences, leaving no wild areas in between, and when we’re all settled in to the opulent new gated housing community carved into the side of the foothills, we HUMANS acquire our “pets” from PetCo, and then wonder why Sparky was attacked by a mountain lion, which is subsequently hunted down, darted, and removed.

The acquisition of Pets are a in part a symptom of the social conditioning by our human (?) corporate masters and the masses of insecure, uneducated, detached HUMANS, in need of their creature comforts and consumer goods. Something I am not immune from, but I also cherish and respect the animals and consider them family, not as my pet, and ideally would consider the animal AND my neighbors, both wild and domestic, before I made a decision to add a new family member to my life. Same goes for having human children. It would be a better world if people shared this consideration.

Here’s a good enough example…the following link provides an amazing photographic journey of “the latest phase of Pinnacle Park, an Industrial Park that is a total of 880 acres. Much of the Pinnacle Park project spreads over Cockrell Hill, until 6 years ago this hill remained untouched and one of the last green spaces just west of Dallas. Of course where there is green space we think we can do something better then what the natural rhythms of our earth can provide.”

    24. The Soylent Gringo Says:

North America is now suffering its eighth year of conspicuous and dangerous aerosol and electromagnetic operations conducted by the U.S. government under the guise of national security. These processes are now so far advanced that the corporations, especially the military/oil/nuclear/aerospace/ agribusiness and pharmaceutical corporations essentially control our lives and government more than most people will want to consider.

These lines criss crossing our sky aren’t just a pretty show of contrails. Thick, continuous and persistent, these trails are the result of covert and illegal operations (ie Operation Cloverleaf –Weather Modification), which inundates our skies with nano-sized hydroscopic (water seeking) ionizing metallic salts, such as barium, aluminum and magnesium.

Illegal because they are carried out without your participation or informed consent. Whatever the truth may be, there is enough solid research on the subject that we should not be ignoring this issue, as they quite possibly represent the most blatant and arrogant disregard for our human rights as well as the sanctity of all life forms in recorded history.

“We have to raise demonstrations and at media outlets and demand they start reporting the truth. We have to write to newspapers, radio and television studios and put it on the line. We have to become a virus, a cancer a pandemic of truth. We have to use whatever means we can (short of hurting people) to get this word out there. We have to shake the rotten fucking face of complacency off the face of America and the world.” McGregor

    25. The Soylent Gringo Says:

Oh yah, for a twist on domestic cats eating birds, I just recently lost my Siamese cat to a pair of huge great horned owls when she got out accidentally at night. Thankfully it was probably very quick, the owls can’t risk being injured and must kill fast with their razor sharp claws that peirce the skull and neck.

Hows that for irony? Not to mention the raven that just flew by my window cawing as I write this.

    26. catbird Says:

There is scientific evidence that the increase in disappearance of birds (and bees and other wildlife changes) may be due to the microwave radiation constantly beamed out from cell phone and WiFi towers. It is virtually impossible to avoid it anymore.
Other sources are radar which one would come across in conflict and military areas.
The radiation is thought to destroy the immunes system and also interfere with the birds navigation systems.
The research can be found on the web

Red imported fire ants (RIFA) can almost completely eliminate ground-nesting birds such as the bobwhite quail.

RIFA can completely eliminate ground-nesting birds in a given area. The northern bobwhite quail (Colinus virginianus; Figure 6 ), an important game species, has been the focus of much research on the impacts of RIFA. RIFA may be one of the reasons for the observed decline in quail numbers in Florida and across much of the southeastern U.S. over the past 10 years. RIFA impact bobwhite quail by stinging and consuming piping young. Even after they hatch, individuals stung by fire ants have reduced survival. In one study, 38% of bobwhite chick deaths were attributed to RIFA stings. If chicks do survive being stung, their growth is often stunted, resulting in a lower body mass. A lower body mass can potentially increase their risk of mortality from other factors such as predation, disease, starvation, or exposure.

Loggerhead shrike (Lanius ludovicianus) numbers are also often lower in habitats invaded by fire ants. These declines may be a result of competition with RIFA for food, primarily insects. RIFA have also been reported causing mortality and declines in barn swallows (Hirundo rustica), crested caracaras (Caracara plancus), common ground doves (Columbina passerine), blue-grey gnatcatchers (Polioptila caerulea), eastern towhees (Pipilo erythrophthalamus), indigo buntings (Passerine cyanea), northern cardinals (Cardinalis cardinalis), and yellow-billed cuckoos (Coccyzus americanus) in certain areas. The causes of mortality and reasons for decline vary between species but are usually a result of stinging, predation of young, or competition for food resources.

Waterbirds such as the least tern (Sterna antillarum), great egret (Casmerodius albus), snowy egret (Egretta thula), roseate spoonbill (Ajara ajara), laughing gull (Larus atricilla), black rail (Laterallus jamaicensis), great blue heron (Ardea herodis), and tricolored heron (Egretta tricolor), all of which can be found in Florida, can also be severely impacted by RIFA. One Texas study showed that, during the warm summer months of June and July when RIFA are most active, ant infestation was responsible for up to a 92% reduction in offspring survival of many of these waterbirds.

    29. George Marsh Says:

The species of birds mentioned in this video story are mostly unaffected by cats, which primarily are a threat to avian wildlife that are in proximity to homes and farms – and principally hunt birds during summer and winter when they have young or are concentrated at “feeders”.

It is interesting to learn that so many who post to this site wish to believe that electro-magnetic, chemtrails or other “pollutants” are responsible for the decline in bird populations. The overwhelming evidence, however, is that birds are disappearing in response to the continual and methodical loss and degradation of their habitat – involving their nesting areas, wintering areas and along their migration paths.

Think of all the cell phone and other tall communication towers that most migratory songbirds must encounter and get around during their twice yearly sojourn to the south and back. Now, huge wind turbines are being erected by the thousands (and soon to be tens of thousands) – which will add to the cumulative stress and strain which songbird populations are suffering.
