One killed, gunman apprehended in Florida shooting: officials

One person was confirmed dead and five wounded in a mass shooting at an Orlando office building, and authorities have apprehended the gunman believed responsible, officials said Friday.

"We do have one confirmed death," said Orlando police chief Val Demings, revising down an earlier toll from fire officials who said two people had been killed.

"The gunman has been apprehended so the community is safe," Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer told reporters.
