(AP) Iraqi and U.S. officials confirm dozens of people were killed or injured when a pair of suicide bombers blew themselves up near a crowd of Army recruits in Baqouba.

Ambulances, sirens blaring, head for the hospital in Baqouba, Iraq. Police say more than two dozen people died when two suicide bombers set off their explosives in a crowd of Army recruits. The bodies are taken to a morgue where family come to claim them -- their grief apparent. One official says almost four dozen people were injured. Army officials were on hand to help hospital staffers care for the wounded. The Diyala province remains one of the last violent areas in Iraq after offensives against extremists in the south, Baghdad's Sadr City and Mosul in the north.
