In an interview with USA Today, Gov. Ed Rendell quietly suggested Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) will run for the presidency again, even though he's indicated Clinton supporters will back Obama this year.

"Yeah, she wants to run again," Rendell told the paper Sunday in Denver.

A Clinton backer who championed her campaign in his home state, he recalled an anecdote about an industrial area "south of Pittsburgh" where 2,500 turned out to rally in the rain for the erstwhile first lady. "Moments like those," the paper paraphrased Rendell as saying, "will propel her to run again."

"By the end of the campaign, when she had really connected with American voters, particularly working-class voters," he concluded. "I think she was having a great time."

Asked last Wednesday about whether Clinton supporters will back Obama, Rendell said: "I'd say that 90 to 95 percent of the Clinton supporters are 100 percent behind Sen. Obama right now."

"There's somewhere between 5 and 10 percent that aren't there yet, and I think the vast majority of that 5 to 10 percent will be there after the (Democratic national) convention."

A poll released Sunday night showed some dissatisfaction among Clinton supporters after Obama chose Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) as his running mate. Some had held out hope their candidate would be chosen.
