| | Caught on video: Police and onlookers beat Mumbai suspect
CBS News has obtained a cell-phone video that allegedly shows a crowd of police and onlookers beating the only surviving attacker from last week's Mumbai terrorist assaults with sticks as he lies on the ground.
The journalist who took the video told CBS that the suspect first tried to hijack a car, then started shooting into the crowd, prompting the beating. Shouts and whistles can be heard as police call for backup.
Indian police say the suspect has confessed to being a member of the Pakistani terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. He is believed to be the same person who was caught on still photos earlier as he walked through the Mumbai train station, shooting with his assault rifle as he went.
