Video: CNN ties Obama, Osama again... in jest CNN's Jeanne Moos makes light of presidential candidates' proclivity for pointing to unseen members of receptive audiences. In a series of video clips, each of the major candidates left in the 2008 race are shown at rallies clapping with and gesturing to adoring crowds.
What is the point of pointing? "[I]f you don't do something, I think you run the risk of looking kind of listless, forlon, marooned," says body language expert Dan Hill.
So who are they pointing to, Moos asks? The video shows Hillary Clinton pointing at an inserted clip of Bill Clinton's erstwhile mistress Monica Lewinsky, while John McCain points at his arch-critic Ann Coulter, and Barack Obama points at someone whose name has often been "accidentally" interchanged with his own: terror mastermind Osama bin Laden.
