Vice President Dick Cheney came to rouse the troops in Iraq this week. But their replies are any indication, the VP's peroration wasn't very persuasive.
ABC's Martha Raddatz talked with troops gathered to hear Cheney speak. Just one was quoted speaking highly of McCain -- though she suggested she found other McCain supporters. The airman's remark?
"Might as well keep it going."
A video of the ABC report appears below.
PFC Jeremy Slate: Barack Obama. Because I think he has our better interests in mind... I'd like to be home.
Staff Sgt Miranda Glover: Probably Hillary. ... Because I think that her husband did a good job as president.
Spc Imus Loto: Obama. ... It would be something different.
Raddatz: He wants to pull out of Iraq.
Loto: Pull me out too.
First Sgt David Logan: I'm leaning more towards Hillary. I think that we should have a gradual drawdown.
Sfc Patricia Keller: Barack Obama. He represents a change.
Sr Airman Jedidiah Bryan (a McCain supporter): (unintelligible) ... might as well keep it going.
