Hanau and Viktoria Berlin to play German football final - of 1893

Frankfurt, Germany- Hanau 93 and Viktoria Berlin will play
for the inaugural German football title in summer, 104 years after
the tie was originally scheduled.
The presidents of the two lower-league clubs agreed on Friday to
stage the games, which will be friendlies, on July 21 and 28.

Viktoria were named first German football champions in 1893 by
walkover because Hanau were unable for financial reasons to make the
trip to Berlin for the match.

"We are looking forward to the matches and will get the title to
Berlin," said Viktoria president Sven Leistikow.

Hanau boss Thomas Tamberg said: "Viktoria are the favourites but
we will have the bigger willpower. That's why the title will go to
Hanau."
