Bogota- Around 50 Chinese nationals were found crammed in a
house in the town of Villa Rosario, in north-eastern Colombia and on
the border with Venezuela, the authorities confirmed Wednesday.
Colonel Jorge Humberto Henao, police commander for the Norte de
Santander province, said it is not known why these Chinese people
travelled to Colombia.

"We have approximately 50 people, between children and adults, but
we have no information (about) how they entered the country, it has
been very difficult to talk to them because language does not allow
it," Henao told Colombian journalists.

He explained that the Asian citizens arrived in the South American
country one week ago and that an investigation has been launched to
establish whether they are victims of illegal human trafficking.
