Washington- The US economy grew at an annual pace of 2.0
per cent in the third quarter, slower than previously believed, the
government said Friday.
The US Commerce Department's final calculation of gross domestic
product (GDP) for July through September was revised from an estimate
of 2.2 per cent released last month.
Friday's report was new evidence of a slowdown in the world's
largest economy.
GDP, the total of goods and services produced in the United
States, grew at a 2.6-per-cent rate in the second quarter and a 5.6-
per-cent pace in the first three months of 2006.
