Two injured in clashes at mosque in Serbia

Belgrade- Two persons were injured in clashes among Muslims outside a mosque in south-western Serbia on Friday evening, Serbian state television RTS reported. The incident occurred in the town of Novi Pazar, when Islamic fundamentalists sought to disrupt services going on inside the mosque.

RTS said guns were also fired in the incident, but it was not clear whether the injuries resulted from guns. Police had begun investigations into the incident.

Muslims make up the majority of people in and around Novi Pazar, with extremists held responsible for a several attacks on Islamic facilities in the area in the past.
