Poland to boost Lebanon UNIFIL force to 500 troops

Warsaw / Brussels- Poland will boost its troop presence in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) from 214 to some 500 personnel, Poland's Minister of Foreign Affairs Anna Fotyga said Friday in Brussels. "Following agreements with the president and prime minister I have announced an increase in our troop contingent in Lebanon to around 500 people," Fotyga said, quoted by the Polish PAP news agency.
Poland is a member of both the NATO Western defence alliance and the European Union.
