Copenhagen- Hong Kong-born Princess Alexandra of Denmark, ex-wife of Danish Prince Joachim, plans to remarry next month, Denmark's palace announced Wednesday. After the March 3 wedding, which will be a private function, the princess will no longer be part of the member of the royal family and would be known as Alexandra Christina, countess of Frederiksborg, the palace said.
Alexandra, 42, will be marrying cameraman Martin Jorgensen, who is 14 years her junior. The couple has been dating for some time and after marriage plan to live in Alexandra's house in Osterbro in the Danish capital.
The couple will be living with Prince Joachim and Alexandra's two sons Nikolai and Felix. They have joint custody of the boys.
Alexandra divorced Prince Joachim, youngest son of Queen Margrethe, in April 2005 after a six-month separation. They were married in November 1995.
As countess, Alexandra will continue to receive a state grant although it will be taxed.
The countess is a patron of several organizations including the Danish Red Cross Youth, the Danish Association of the Blind, The Animal Foundation, the ARKEN Museum of Modern Art, and the Danish UNICEF Committee.
