President George W. Bush will address the nation at 5pm ET over the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, CNN reported Wednesday afternoon.
Details are scant. President Bush is currently surveying damage in the region from Air Force One. He shaved two days off his five-week vacation to address the crisis from Washington.
According to the Associated Press, Air Force One descended to less than 3,000 feet over Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Over New Orleans, AP said, Bush could see "the skin of the Superdome roof peeled back by the storm's fury."

"It's totally wiped out," Bush told reporters. "It's devastating, it's got to be doubly devastating on the ground," Bush said, according to spokesman Scott McClellan.
