In an effort to improve and expand the interactivity of the Raw Story experience, Raw Story, and its partner site, The Blue Lemur, plan to offer free blogs to contributors and readers. While there are a variety of other blogging services out there, our plan is to create a community of progressive blogs – blogs which interact with each other and the main Raw Story and Blue Lemur sites.
Even if you’re a computer klutz – have no fear – the blogging service is fully automated, and you’ll even be able to make posts by email.
Or, if you're more adventurous, blogs can be had in your own domain for just $2.99/month plus a $6.25/year annual domain registration fee. You'll also get ten email addresses for your domain with your blog.

Both readers and contributors will have the ability to instantly respond to stories as they appear on the main pages, offering new insight and opinion on the issues of the day. Those who find breaking news can add them to their own page, then receive credit with traffic from the main page. In this way, Raw Story will start to act less like a news directory run by two strangers in Boston and more like a community.
A true alternative news source shouldn’t be a handful of people selecting stories – it should be a group of open-minded citizens from around the world.
As we glide into a critical election season in America, it’s even more imperative that voters have access to a wide variety of critical and insightful news and opinion sources. As more and more people become involved, we hope to grow a network that will provide that critical edge that nudges turnout in the polls – and sends George W. Bush packing.
