The internet mocked President Donald Trump and the Oval Office after he commented Thursday about how the historic location can often leave people feeling confused.
Trump made the remark during a reception for the reigning Major League Baseball World Series champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers, in the Rose Garden at the White House.
"People walk into the Oval Office and no matter who they are, they just sort of feel different, and it's a great place to negotiate because everyone is all discombobulated when they walk in, and it’s a great time for me to negotiate with them," Trump said. "So we do that as often as possible.”
Social media users laughed at the bizarre comment.
"Discombobulated by the tackiness?" politics reporter Michael McGough wrote on X.
"You better believe they feel different & discombobulated. That ain’t all they feel," the X account Thebrokeragebabe, a frequent political commentator, wrote.
"Might have something to do with all the fake s----- gold hanging everywhere," political commentator Jamie Bonkiewicz wrote on X.
"I have a theory as to why people might be 'discombobulated' when they first enter the Oval Office," Acyn Torabi, senior digital editor at MeidasTouch, wrote on X.
"People who visit the Oval Office are not 'discombobulated,' President a-- clown. They are nauseated," Leslie Potter, who self-describes as a Democrat and has more than 50,000 followers, wrote on Bluesky.
