If so, this is a dishonest report. I don't doubt that many Europeans are still anti-Semitic, especially since so many Jews either perished or emigrated. Anti-semitism is an incredibly silly and illogical tradition that has affected Jewish lives in ghastly ways. It really originates in early Christianity, when the bickering Christian factions also picked fights with Jews, due to anxieties about how "gentile" Christianity should be. Then it gained a new life in the Middle Ages, when Jews were ghettoized, only allowed to be bankers. But I think PC raises an important issue: define contemporary anti-Semitism. There's a difference between actively hating Jews and, say, not being a wholehearted Israel booster. Anyone who exploits the "anti-Semitism" tag for political benefit is doing a disservice to those who are truly prejudiced against.

I know an individual who lives in Brno, Czech Republic. If you want to visit a place that's profoundly anti-Semitic, go visit the Czechs. I grant that not everyone there is this way, but it's not uncommon in Slavic-cultures to be this way, especially where the Catholic Church held-sway under the Hapsburgs. The Church is to blame for most all anti-Semitism, and it's well-documented that they and European Monarchs used the Jews as scapegoats for a buffer between them and the subjects they were exploiting. You see similar dynamics in the Middle East today, and not even regarding Jews, it's a political tactic. Blaming the outsider is as old as civilization itself.

I think it's clear that the wars over the centuries have one thing in common: people either being threatened by others who consider themselves 'different' or people threatening others whome they think are 'different'. So, yes, being a member of ANY group of 'US' that cultivates its differences in comparison to 'THEM' is an acceptance of subordination of the rights of the individual to the demands of the group. Let's stick to the facts, okay? A bunch of Jews we caught partying in Jersey when the WTCs were hit. They were let go, then went public in Israel saying they were there to document 9-11. Jew Larry Silverstein somehow knew in advance to invest in a money-losing office complex and insure it against terrorism. Jews like Wolfowitz, Pearle, Krystol, and all the other neocons knowingly and falsely claimed that Saddam was connected to 911 to justify an invasion of Iraq and to give Israel more military aid. Jewish groups have taken control of most of the mainstream media in America and no matter how many facts surface about Israel's strange connection to 911 and proximity to the terrorist cells that were blamed, they won't report it. Downing Street Memo proving the facts were being fixed to justify the war? Don't report it. What does every politician from Cheney to Pelosi say when they appear to speak at AIPAC? The US must stay in Iraq and protect Israel, no matter what. How about requiring the President to abide by the Constitution and get permission from Congress before any action is taken in Iran, Syria, or another country? Nope, going by the US Constitution might hurt Israel. More Americans are slipping back into poverty than at any time since the great depression. Should we help them out? Nope, gotta give billions in military aid to Israel. Anybody get the picture yet? Our troops are getting slaughtered, poisoned, and diseased in Iraq, even though it's caused gas prices to soar and hardship for American families, but every policy from our Neocon President is for longer and greater military commitment. Where is their loyalty really?

The problem is the rhyme.
What leads to this discontent is the most satisfactory phonetic sound of the word "jew" (joo) which, unfortunately, lends itself to an even happier sound when coupled as either adjective or noun with all manners of single-word invective. This, in my experience, leaves one with a hard to describe feeling of most satisfying satsfactoriness that is almost addicting.

Where do I get the money?
Hi, I recently filed for bankruptcey and still find myself enormously in debt. I honestly want to and intend to pay back everyone I owe money too. I drive a '96 Ford Taurus with over 145000 miles on it(that actually is where so much of the money goes to that I would otherwise prefer to send to those I owe money to--the upkeep of said vehicle, which, naturally has all sorts of problems that pop up out of the blue as any vehicle that age is likely to have. But I have no choice but to keep paying to maintain it or else I have no other way of getting to work!). I live in a tiny one-bedroom apartment. My job is okay but doesn't quite pay well enough to get me out of my endless financial jams. And where is this all leading to? It's leading to this--so brace yourselves: I'm Jewish(gasp!),and apparently the only Jew in existence who is struggling financially since, you know, we have all the money and run all the banks. I am writing here because I have been thus far unable to obtain any money from the banks based on my Jewry; I have gone into/called many banks and asked them where is the money I am owed since I am Jewish and received nothing but blank stares or have been hung up on. What's the deal?!? I'm very confused! If the Jews are supposed to have all the money, than damn it, why haven't I received my cut? I don't get it--why have I been left out? I can only conclude that somewhere in this world there is a Big Jewish Bank that I need to contact in order for me to get the funds that I am entitled to. IF anyone out there knows of the whereabouts of this bank or some kind of hotline where I might be able to reach them, please do let me know at once, for a Jew cannot live on macaroni & cheese alone!...for how can a Jew without $$(gasp!) even really be considered a Jew at all?!?
