Yes, well I am sure the Catholic Church is sincere in these pronouncements. But don't leave out psychological terrorist, which would the use of religious mythology to browbeat the faithful into believing nonsense and continuing to fill the coffers of the church. By the way, just how much does a dispensation cost these days? Does the price rise depending on the gravity of the sin?

Maybe I missed a nuance or the details, but using terrorism to describe the high rate of abortion is not helpful to the dialogue. This may seem like a "technical" point, but their use goes beyond just a poor choice of a word, terrorism, to actually trying to leverage the "fear" and jingoist hype against terrorism. Terrorism has to do with a small group intimatiding societies and governments for ideological reasons. The millions of individual choices to perform an abortion even if supported by a society is not terrorism, its something maybe very tragic and morally wrong but its not terrorism. If a few people were going around and pouring "morning after" pills into public water systems or blowing up maternity nurseries than we got terrorism. So what bothers me is what seems to be the need to borrow the fear of one area to feed the cause of another. We need more intelligent and less fearmongering dialogue

The Catholic Church took a stand against John Kerry in the last election because he's pro-choice, but had no problem with, thereby, supporting George Bush, who is responsible for so much death and destruction. Oh yes, and they decided to speak out against the war after the election. Glad I'm not Catholic, I don't have to be conflicted about how I feel about those in charge.
