Why did Africa do just fine population wise for millenia, then, in 20th century, turn into overpopulated, AIDS-ridden hellhole? Anyone?

Africa, far from being a hell hole, has petroleum, diamonds and other valuable raw materials. It is one of the richest continents on earth, just ask the bankers in Geneva and New York.

The great majority of HIV/AIDS in Africa is caused by sharing infected needles - not sexual contact. Improved health services are generating more injections, but ignorance about clean needles is creating the crisis.

no one in the white house wants to stop AIDS in africa especially when there is a far better advantage to letting that continent slip into total chaos from the mass deaths brought on by the u.s. plague. once the continent is completely decimated then, and only then will it be appropriate to sweep in and take control of the vast wealth of oil and other natural resources that continent has to offer. it will be quite a coup for those who are currently sitting back claiming they care about the AIDS crisis in africa when all signs clearly show this is NOT the case. they're just biding their time.
