Irving Kristol, the political writer and publisher called the "godfather" of neo-conservatism, has died. He was 89.
Editors at The Weekly Standard said Kristol died Friday in Washington.
He had been a radical in his youth but eventually rejected liberalism. He co-founded an important conservative journal, The Public Interest, and wrote several books, including "Neo-Conservatism: The Autobiography of An Idea."
His son is the influential conservative William Kristol, editor of The Weekly Standard.

Boo, hoo, hoo. When are journalists going to learn when they say Kristol was a radical in his youth only to later reject liberalism. What he rejected was liberalism and not radicalism. He was a radical early on and in his old age yoo. I once spoke with a nurse who worked with the elderly and she said 'people do not become more liberal or conservative when they age, they become more of what they are.' And was a radical. Unfortunately the American body politic is too stupid to bury neoconservatism with him. It, along with neoliberalism, is ruining America and many parts of the world.
