Democratic leaders are planning a House vote early next week on whether to admonish Republican Rep. Joe Wilson if he does not apologize on the House floor for yelling "You lie!" during President Barack Obama's health care address.
Brendan Daly, a spokesman for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, said Friday that party leaders decided they will likely move forward with a resolution of disapproval against Wilson if he doesn't apologize to Congress.
Wilson told Obama he was sorry shortly after the incident on Wednesday, but has refused requests to apologize on the House floor. Wilson's office says the congressman considers his initial apology sufficient. He has also been telling supporters he will continue to speak loudly about the issue and "not be muzzled."
Obama said Thursday he accepted Wilson's apology, telling reporters that "we all make mistakes." The White House said it considered the incident over, and Pelosi, D-Calif., initially agreed, saying she wanted to focus on moving health care legislation forward.

Rep. Wilson was paid big bucks to attack President Obama and you can bet many will follow when paid. Wilson isn't sorry but apologized only when told to. A day later he's tells his supporters he met and and would continue until President Obama is removed and a Republican takes the White House. Americans are being used by the Republican Party and have been for 8 years. We're in a Recession now and many Americans even Law Makers would take the big bucks that the Insurance Company is handing out. Wilson knew exactly what he was doing and is in no way sorry. Now we'll have to wait and see what the Republican Christian Family/Moral Values Party does next and it sure will be orders by Satan.

What a ridiculous and, in my opinion, dumb decision on Senator Wilson's part. Certainly, he has the right to voice his concerns and/or problems with the bill--and he surely has quite a few--but not before the House at that time. It does violate the House's laws, and Wilson almost seems to be laughing at those laws through his ill-timed reaction.
Granted, he did apologize to the President afterwards. But he refuses to do so before the House. And, technically, it's the House's rules that he carelessly broke.
Beyond just Joe Wilson, however, there were a number of mixed reactions to President Obama's speech. While many Reps stayed far away on their side of the political-view fence, there were some cynical half-believers who finally accepted the health care bill as legitimate after Wednesday night.

Why does Joe have an issue? Because business owners love to get illegal immigrants as cheap laborers and not provide for their healthcare. If Joe is so concerned about illegal immigrants getting a piece of our healthcare insurance, why doesn't he cut them off at the hiring step? That would transmit a signal immediately to the entrance of the pipeline for illegal immigrants -- THERE ARE NO JOBS; DON'T GO TO USA.
How about it Joe? Work with Democrats to get a meaningful immigration law.

The logic is quite simple. The bill expressly states that no money from this program shall be given to non-citizens. Obama did not lie, the lie is that the right-wing wants to put hurdles in front of legal citizens so they can make sure illegal immigrants can't get any money. Yet, at the same time, I get an email (right-wing fucktardary trying to masqurade as reason) BITCHING about all the "verifying" a citizen has to do.. using all those "pointless and redundant hurdles" as the basis for saying "and we trust these morons to "run" health care?"...
The same right-wing that says government should stay out of your life wants centralized databases tracking every citizen so "illegals" don't ever get 1 penny of benefit from tax payers.. so, to do that, tax payers should spend billions a year tracking every citizen? Still, it is worth noting that most non-white people are seeing exactly what is happening now, particularly if you happen to be Latino. When was it that any American has heard anything but lies from the mouths of Republicans. When was the last time that this pathetic party do something not self serving and put America first before their partisan aims. I wish some Dem had had the nerve to shout down Bush just once. The President isn't God, isn't the embodiment of the Constitution, or the nation. I hope wilson has kept up his habit of eating "No Doz" by the handfuls. When his kidneys fail it will be a "pre-existing condidtion" and his health "pimps" will deny coverage for a transplant. And just because that other "south carolinian", Miller the democrat, is getting money from this outrage , doesn't mean he is a left or at least liberal (as in Phil Ochs song). First off let me say that I’m not picking on Congressman Joe Wilson of South Carolina because he called President Obama a liar. I’m all for the breakdown of political decorum and think democracy would be far better off if politicians from both parties were ruder. For example, imagine if the Democrats had had the courage to call President Bush a liar instead of voting to support the Iraq War. No, I picked on Wilson yesterday because he’s an extremist and today because despite his posturing as a model of political rectitude, he’s a typical pay-to-play hack.
Consider Wilson’s relationship with Fabrique Nationale de Herstal (FNH), a Belgian arms maker. Earlier this year, public records show, Wilson secured a $2.5 million earmark in the defense appropriations bill for the Special Operations Combat Assault Rifle (SCAR), which is made by FNH.
Since 2004, FNH has spent more than $500,000 lobbying for the SCAR, employing the services of a firm called the American Business Development Group to seek funding for the assault rifle. The firm has headquarters in Washington and several state offices, including one in South Carolina.
Since 2003, William Skipper, the president of American Business Development Group, has donated $8,800 to Wilson’s campaign. And Skipper also gave the only individual contribution this year to the Carolina Majority PAC, which is Wilson’s personal Political Action Committee.
“Working extensively on national defense issues with Congressional Committees and senior Federal officials, Mr. Skipper has earned a reputation for American BDG as the leading defense-oriented firm in Washington,” say his bio on the firm’s website. “He has played a critical role in bringing new technologies to the modern warfighter and has testified before Congress on issues related to the Department of Defense and Armed Forces.”
Skipper’s contribution to Wilson’s PAC — for $5,000, the legal maximum — was made on March 10, 2009. Earmark requests for the appropriations bills were due five days later. So FNH’s lobbyist was handing Wilson a check at virtually the same time that Wilson was asking for $2.5 million in federal funds for the lobbyist’s client.
