Fox News, the self-branded "Fair and Balanced" network, appears to have thrown even the most feigned attempt at "balance" in the debate over health insurance reform, right out the window.
Critical media observers need only review reporter Griff Jenkins' recent coverage of a New Mexico "tea party," which this writer can only summarize as being similar to to sideline interviews at a sports game ... If the interviewer were, say, employed by the team he's interviewing.
This video was aired by Fox News on Sept. 1, 2009.
One protester suggested that the group crowding around the reporter is representative of the "silent majority" that is finally waking up. However, a recent SurveyUSA poll found that over two-thirds of Americans support having a public health insurance option.
Although, I cannot claim to recall ever seeing this sort of protest coverage on the Fox News Channel when peace activists marched against the war in Iraq. No, in fact it was quite the opposite, and the crowds that Jenkins waded through were not nearly as friendly.
Here's an example of hostile protest coverage and a hostile response, broadcast by Fox News just ahead of the Democratic National Convention in August, 2008.
It would seem increasingly clear that Jon Stewart was correct in his assessment: Fox News hosts and reporters are the new liberal media.

Un-Effing Believable. Fox News is inciting civic unrest over health care. What's next? Pass out guns?...
Emboldened by the level of hysteria that they helped create, Fox News has hit a new low (I know, wait till tomorrow). Reporter/Emcee Griff Jenkins pretends to cover a spontaneous gathering of government protesters as he in fact cheer leads them into a...
Hell NPR is giving the tea baggers coverage also three reports so far, today it was about some singing black con who wants to take merica back from the "socialists" Oh happy daze.......................
fox theatre...
In consideration of the activist nature of its staff, shouldn't FOX News have to register as a "for profit" arm of the Republican Party? And, why is it called "News?"
To ken,
Do NOT take NPR to be anything but FOX in a slightly more sophisticated (and a great deal more smug) package.
Fuck Fox, Fuck its viewers, fuck NPR!!
Do i have to choose a team?

Americans should be outraged by what is being broadcast on Fox (Fixed) News and printed on Rupert Murdoch's Wall Street Journal and New York Post newspapers. The misinformation, fear mongering, racist statements, inciting violence being broadcast on Fox and their catering to the ultra extreme racist neocon, say no to everything, right wing isn't going to stop until the true majority of American people rise up and take action to put a stop to it. The whack jobs that watch the likes of Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly and on CCN, Lou Dobbs only makes up about 2% of the electorate and they are mostly the same folks that we see in the news for being caught or being sought for acts of murder, raping women, trafficking drugs, robbing liquor stores, banks, etc. etc. I don't think that Americans are stupid enough to believe anything that is aired on Fox News and CNN. I only wish that if Americans are truly interested in knowing the truth about what is going on in Washington and our corrupt politicians, that they make it a point to watch the Rachel Maddow Show and Countdown with Keith Olbermann both on MSNBC.
Fox News is part of the GOP. You get about what you would expect from their coverage. It is eventually going to backfire on them. Somehow, they think protesting in the street and showing up with guns at town hall meetings will force everyone else to give up liberties. That is quite a bit different than the 1960's when people were looking for more liberties for themselves.
As for NPR, I greatly value NPR, and I am dismayed to see people calling NPR "Fox News". NPR occasionally has stories that I don't care for, and people with views on that I don't agree with, but that is called balanced reporting. NPR shows things from both sides, and if you get upset about what you hear on NPR, it probably isn't NPR's fault, it's because they are doing what the rest of the media should be doing - reporting the news.
FOX news..the unholy alliances bilge pump.
It's time for us Liberals to prepare for the worst. Time to acquire as many firearms and ammo as we can lay our hands on. The Right Wing Nutters have indicated that they'll settle for nothing less than a bloodbath - we need to be prepared for the gates of Hell opening.
Emilio, I hope you're wrong but they have shown nothing but hate. They scare me, lock and load............................
Here are photos I took of the Sacramento tea party event:

According to a new AARP POLL: 86 percent of seniors want universal healthcare security for All, including 93% of Democrats, 87% of Independents, and 78% of Republicans. And 79% of seniors support creating a new strong Government-run public option plan, available immediately. Including 89% of Democrats, 80% of Independents, and 61% of Republicans, STUNNING!! Senator Max Baucus, You better come out of committee with a strong government-run public option available on day one.
Here's hoping Congress finds their balls and uses their majority.
Well that was quite disgusting of FOX news. It's the unfair and imbalanced. I feel the liberals are going to have a hard time in the future.
