WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Former U.S. Congressman William Jefferson, who was caught with $90,000 in cash in his freezer, was convicted on Wednesday on multiple charges of bribery and money laundering.
The former Congressman from Louisiana, accused in 2007 of soliciting millions of dollars in bribes from companies while using his office to broker business deals in Africa, was found guilty of 11 of 16 counts of bribery, racketeering and money laundering.
In a search of his residence, FBI agents found the $90,000 neatly wrapped in foil and stashed in his freezer.
They got him convicted finally. I remember when my wife prayed a special prayer that this criminal would get the book thrown at him and I said don't ask for the Lord to convict the criminals because they get there due. Let the rule of law and God's will play out. Don't try to force it. That's not what faith is for. She and others wanted to know why the Democrat criminals always get off. Look at Bill Clinton and the other ones she said. I said just wait. There is justice in the world. Look at Sandy Berger. Look at Jim Traffikant. Look at Dan Rostakowski. a) Start a charity. Anything will do...there are many worthy causes.
b) Make wife the manager/ceo/head of that charity.
c) Make ceo salary $400,000 or above.
d) Remind people who need "favors" that your wife is the head of this wonderful charity that is doing such good work.
If more money needed, start second charity.
Or go the board route with a lot of little fees paid to sit on the board of many charities. Heck, you can get together with your friends on that one.
Progressives don't claim Jefferson. In fact I'm happy to see another crooked New Orleans politician go to jail. The people there have suffered long enough under one crook after another in both parties.
