Associated Press -- The U.S. military in Iraq says two soldiers have been charged with filming and photographing female members of their unit while they were taking showers and then distributing the video and images.
The military says the misconduct happened during the unit's pre-deployment training at Fort Dix, New Jersey, in the fall of 2008.

How interesting to see that the photographs secretly taken of the female soldiers taking shower is on exhibition and are on the tables of Senior Officers and may also be on the tables of the congressional representatives.
What the authorities decide in regard to the Two soldiers is OK thinks the citizens. But expressed concern for the photographed female soldiers chastity those whose bathing photograph are on exhibitions and are on the tables of the Senior officers and the Congressional representatives. They opinoned that the chastity of the female soldiers are at stake in the hands of the Republican Representatives.

Ok just a few points..
-People who decide to join the military are not retarded. We do it for many reasons, and without us you would be fucked. Sometimes we have to do stupid shit that we don't necessarily want to, but that's just how things work. Giving up a comfortable life for our countries well-being, and for our families makes us far from retarded.
-Soldiers in general are not bad people, were not all rapists. There are hundreds of thousands of people in the Army alone, show me a city with a population of a few hundred thousand with ZERO crime. I bet you can't. There are those who slip through the cracks and make us look bad, yes. But, some things are virtually impossible to completely control, or else there would be no crime, period.
-As for the Army not doing enough to stop things like this. They do a lot actually. I can't speak for every unit, but in general they take these things very seriously and do have measures in place to minimize the risk of such things happening, but its impossible to have your eye on every soldier all the time. Deterrents are the military's favorite tool, hence the 12-18 year sentences these men are likely to get. I highly doubt a civilian charged with the same crime would face such sentencing. The Uniform Code of Military Justice doesn't fool around. there is no going easy, for any crime. Military sentences are even known to carry Hard Labor. something you simply wont find in civilian prisons. But again, sometimes things slip through the cracks of the justice system, as with any justice system. its unfortunate, but not unique to the military.
-Also note that these were National Guardsman. Not knocking the NG, but these are weekend warriors for the most part. They do not live with their unit, they don't spend more than a few weekends with them even. It's almost like sending a bunch of civilians to Iraq together, who are only acquainted. It may not seem relevant but it really is. These guys obviously lacked any level of discipline, not to say the entire NG does. but the NG is just more conducive to such a lack of discipline. Its all very unfortunate. A few bad apples, but I'm more than certain they'll regret every frame and photo.
-Oh, and the fact that they're MP's probably has little to do with it, though I imagine that there are some MP's who let it go to their heads and think that the laws they enforce aren't applicable to them. I don't say that from my own experiences, but just understanding of kind of mentality some people adopt when they get even a liver of power/authority.

I agree with the post from Soldier above. My husband is in the Indiana NG and had to go to a Virginia installation for training recently. He said he has never seen such an undisciplined army post in all his career (10yrs, 3 foreign tours). It was run by the Virginia guard. Seems like that state could use a little clean up.
Also, I hear that if a soldier is caught assaulting a woman the least of their worries is a JAG officer and the UCMJ, they get paid for their crime many times over before a trial ever begins....
