Since opinionated CNN news anchor Lou Dobbs began reporting on a conspiracy theory story that suggested President Barack Obama wasn't born in the United States, his ratings have fallen some 15 percent.

Dobbs began reporting on the Obama birth certificate story -- circulated by the hard right -- on Wednesday, July 15. In the following two weeks, his Nielsen ratings dived -- reducing his overall viewers from an estimated 771,000 to 653,000. Among the 25-54 demographic, his ratings fared even worse: Dobbs' average viewers dropped from 218,000 to 157,000. That's a decline of 28 percent.
Popular blog Gawker "congratulated" Dobbs' drop-off in a tongue and cheek rebuke: "Well done Lou, well done. Just go ahead and fax your resume over to Fox News now, because you've probably alienated the average CNN viewer to the point of no return, and, try as you might, the average Fox News viewer isn't going to flip the channel over to CNN ever, even when Shep Smith is on the air."
Even conservative Fox icon Bill O'Reilly isn't buying the Obama born abroad theory.
"I don't know why you guys are overreacting to this," O'Reilly said Monday. "I mean, that's—come on, I mean, it's not true. Mr. Dobbs is trying to get ratings, trying to be provocative."

People have to recognize, especially today, that there is no left or right, only the illusion of left and right which is used to whip the general public into competing camps which then ensures that nothing can change because we as a people are divided always. And they are hurting like never before, which means they are no longer willing to give the political elites a free pass all the time. This I am sure terrifies many politicians.
Whether or not Barky is eligible to be president as per the constitution is not about racism; it really speaks to whether the US is still a country that follows the rule of law or not. People on both the left and the right have to stop excusing their dictator for bending or breaking the constitution. Bush was bad, but Barky is proving to be more of the same. People are waking up to just how misalligned their vision of their country is from reality, and are recognizing the threats to both their wealth and their freedom from a government empire -- run it seems by foreign central banks -- that is both criminal and insatiably bloodthirsty.
The longer this eligibility issue hangs out there -- and it isn't just the birth certificate, its also his school records (was he in the US as a foreign student) and his seeming desire to fight disclosure with everything at his disposal -- the more he leaves the appearance that something smells about this issue. If he had no legal right to run for president, then he has committed fraud as have numerous other bigwigs in the Democratic party. No wonder they are fighting so hard to marginalize anyone who wants the truth.
And as for 911, which happenned just as Bush's popularity was beginning to collapse, we may be headed into Barky's 911 with a flu pandemic which the Pentagon has said will mean US troops will be used inside the country. (Where is the coverage of that story here?) As the US gets dismantled and weakened ahead of a fall that will potentially see the death of the country on the back of a US dollar collapse, people need to wake up and smell the coffee. The "birthers" and "deathers" are getting so interestingly convoluted that I am beginning to hope that Obama somehow is NOT a citizen. That way, on January 21, 2013, he can brag that he really wasn't elected any more than Bush was and be 100% correct in that statement. And then he can say, "The only thing better than 'Diebold' is to 'live bold'!" I can hear the thunderous applause already.

I think what has happened to Dobbs is sad. I liked him once, even though he is too much of a free-market idolator and a little too military for my tastes, back in 2001-2002, when he fulminated nightly against Enron and all its co-conspirators who pauperized utility ratepayers and their own investors.
