WICHITA, Kan. — The man accused of killing Kansas abortion provider George Tiller said Thursday from the county jail where he is being held that he's "being treated as a criminal" even though he hasn't been convicted.
In a brief telephone conversation with The Associated Press, Scott Roeder also disputed what he called "broad brush" characterizations of him as being anti-government.
"I want people to stop and think: It is not anti-government, it is anti-corrupt government," Roeder, who called from the Sedgwick County Jail in response to a written request for an interview.
The 51-year-old Kansas City, Mo. man was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder for allegedly killing Tiller with a single gunshot as the doctor handed out programs Sunday while ushering at the Lutheran church he attended in Wichita. Roeder also is accused of assaulting two witnesses before leaving the church and driving away. He was arrested a few hours later.

Well, let's see now: this ungodly murderous idiot gunned down a man armed only with paper programs, white gloves, and a Lutheran Church ushers' badge before witnessing congregants in broad daylight on a Sunday morning INSIDE A CHURCH FOYER!!! Last I checked, his going to that church with a gun for no other purpose than to shoot Dr. Tiller was the premeditation of murder. His actually shooting that man was the crime of premeditated murder. Murder is a crime - PERIOD! Those who committ murder are criminals. Thus, he really is a criminal by the very definition of his actions. To kill a man whose occupation somehow offended this nut is a feloneous CRIME! Ipso-facto, he is a criminal, more than deserving of the criminal treatment about which he's complaining. Furthermore, American justice requires he receive the lethal injection, a more humane way to die than he granted his victim.
Say whatever he will, murder is still against the law with no statute of limitations, even in the most conservative, Bible-belted, Klan overrun, culturally primitive red states of America. Abortion is a woman's option and right. It should be legal, readily available, very safe, and more rare than condor sightings.
As a woman, I'm against abortion, but not a woman's right to make that choice if it suits her circumstances, which happen to be none of my business, unless, of course, I am the woman in question. What I wish all these womb raiders would do is focus on making life in this country good in a manner that made the need for an abortion rare. We spend more time protesting abortion than we so protesting and fixing those things in life that bring a woman to need an abortion, a decision most women don't make on a whim or take lightly. Killing and persecuting 'abortionists' is not the answer to that societal bane.
I have news for you, you moron: When they arrest you, you are considered a criminal. What did you think, they would give you a freaking parade? You shot a man to death in a church, a man who had NOT broken the law, and YOU took the law into your own hands, being a judge, jury and executioner, and you think that you should be treated like something other than a criminal? Let me clue you in on something else. I was arrested for having a few cannabis plants on my property almost 2 years ago. I was hurting NO ONE, I was bothering NO ONE, and in fact, it was an off duty cop trespassing on that property who filed the complaint. Not a word about him trespassing, BTW. I had to post bond, I had to sit in jail for the day while they got around to charging me, and the detective on the case LIED to the DA and told her I was going to "assist" her with something and then didn't. The DA didn't bother to ask me about that, she just assumed that the cop wasn't lying, and used that to screw me for as much as she could. I am 3/4 of the way through 2 years of probation, which is nothing but an extortion racket. The fact that I was using cannabis for medicinal reasons in a state that HAS a medicinal law made NO difference to the DA at all.
I was treated like a criminal for something that didn't involve anyone else, YOU, on the other hand, killed a man who was in church, and who hadn't broken the law. You didn't pay any attention to his family, friends or patients, and now that you are worried about YOUR family, I have to just shake my head and wonder if you are even competent to stand trial. I suspect that you are not, and should really be locked up in an asylum somewhere, to keep the rest of society safe from your lunacy. The fact is that you have shown that you are a psychopath who thinks that his own opinion should outweigh another's right to live and be left alone. You, sir, are the very epitome of a criminal. Your actions caused the death of another living, BREATHING human being. One who had provided a clearly needed service to a segment of society, which seems to be more than you have done.
If you can't do the time, don't do the crime. You DID do the crime, and you should have thought about the consequences BEFORE you did it. It's a little late now, you idiot.
