After dubbing Obama Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor a “reverse racist” last week, Rush Limbaugh is singing a new tune. Via Politico:
“I can see a possibility of supporting this nomination if I can be convinced that she does have a sensibility toward life in a legal sense,” Limbaugh said during his show.
In justifying his flip, Limbaugh pointed out that Sotomayor is Catholic and “doesn't have a clear record on abortion.”
Hinting that Sotomayor could possibly support overturning Roe v. Wade, Limbaugh said “whoa, it would be huge.”
“I don't know if it will ever happen,” Limbaugh said, before claiming that the “opportunity” of her support in overturning the landmark abortion case could be enough to get his backing.
It seems plausible that Limbaugh's tepid support for Sotomayor -- and his specific mention of her abortion stance -- might be a ploy designed to split the nominee off from Obama's liberal base. Some conservatives have signaled their (closeted) support for the nominee while alluding to the possibility she could work to erode pro-choice laws.

I have to admit that there are a few arguments I’m just plain sick of. Of them is Gay marriage, abortion, church and state and of course Israel. In each of these conundrums agreement if left up to those with a vested interest is unresolvable. If however left up to a “informed” public each are easily settled.
Gay marriage for instance is making it’s way across the country as good, American citizens put away their personal views and acknowledge the supreme ‘decider’; is the constitution. Simply put the best of us regardless of our personal stance (however wide) realizes that equal protection under the law is the law. Since that is the case the public is now saying amen.
For most, again this is the “informed” public mind you the issue of the wall between church and state has as well been completely established and thus proven as the point of view of our founders. Like all of these topics you will never get a fanatic to stray from either side they may be perched upon, but they don’t really matter so much in a nation with a bill of rights and a set of pool rules. That said, lets call this one solved as well.
The last two of these bear traps Israel and abortion will most likely never be resolved. Israel like the right wing christens will never want to give up the issue for love nor money. It’s worth it’s wait in gold, is unifying and has the god thing so deeply intertwined throughout it to the point if the two were separated they would not exist individually on this earthly plane. The Israel discussion has the added plague of being laced with lies, bigotry and ancient hatreds. Likewise abortion is muddled with much of the same with some bonus peculiarity. That is, insisting that one side has the evil desires to kill babies for the pleasure of it so they can better serve Satan.
Because of this “godly, gorilla warfare” and the truly evil people involved in using babies as footballs its doubtful anything could be said to cool the fiery rhetoric on either side. Just for shits and giggles though lets leave the grassroots and mom and pop outfits out of this for a moment and address those who could have ended abortion and the Israel debate had they ever wanted to.
It was not long ago the republicans held every branch of government. Their power expanses included, but were not limited to the presidency, both houses of congress, the judicial branch as well as a stacked supreme court, the “media”, governorships and an unfortunate mass populace appeal. Certainly with that kind of war chest Roe would have been aborted if that were what these moral men and women had really wanted. The hideous truth is these righteous leaders, pundits and wraiths don’t give a tinkers damn about aborted babies; they only care and love the issue. It’s one of the right-wing’s favorite bloody shirts to wave every election cycle to bring out their fanatical base, because even if you won’t come out to stop queers from getting married or kill some brown folk you must come out to save babies or it’s the deepest ring in hell for you. Works every time Reader...right? So the jokers at the top of this shit mountain will continue to fain indignant cries of woe. They will do all in their power to wrack up the baby body count by making sure that contraception, aid to families with children in all forms and adoption are to whittled down to none existence or unreachable leaving the only option left to be abortion.
Then, like Santa Claus they will show up each voting day with the body count and render their gourmets in a display not seen since Pilot washed his hands of Jesus.
And if these facts are not monstrous enough the retroactive abortionist on the bottom will run to the streets enchanted and drooling like brain eating zombies with their hands out stretched shouting praise god and pass the ammunition doing the heavy lifting for their evil masters.
I could ask why do these poor confused people always fall for this embarrassingly obvious snatch and grab, but that would assume one could talk to or somehow communicate with beings who require flesh for their fantasy such as Scott Roader. Since that would be like channeling Elvis I will pass on the obligation to even try.
So on to Israel. I could as well as you could Reader fill this page with facts as to how this place came to be and to how it has become the single most caustic flashpoint in the world. So to hell with that. I know that will invite criticism, but really Reader what is the point. Battle lines have been drawn, believers have crossed the river to be on the side of what they think and have faith is right. What I will say is this : If the united states walks away Israel will fall, and not because of ancient hatred, but because of revenge for current unresolved war crimes and crimes against humanity. Consider this. If America did not have the arsenal of certain death that we have more than half of this world would come here to kick ass and take names for revenge after the last eight years alone let alone the past fifty three. Just an aside to my anti nuke friends out their. If we didn’t have them like it or not we would be so screwed at this point. And the same is true for Israel, but they have a bit of a bigger problem than we do at the moment. Israel can bluster all it wants to try and empress their self made enemies, but saying they will rain down a nuclear holocaust on the middle east is like trying to sell a long term insurance policy to a suicide bomber while he’s pressing on a detonator. While you might distract this soon to be martyr with your insane offer, it only buys you so much time before the thought of killing such a stupid person makes it all that much easier for him or her to release or push the plunger.
In my opinion there is only one way to bring Israel back into the realm of reality and world law. The United States must stop being Israel sugar daddy, and cleaning up for or covering for them. We as a nation must be willing to tell the Israeli government that if you proceed to further harm your host nation of Palestine, and your neighbors as well as biting the hand that has fed you all of these years we the American people will stand down and let the region sort it’s self out.
But as I said in the beginning Reader, these two last things are unresolvable, because everyone wants the issues and those who could provide solution never will. Someone once said there is no profit in peace, perhaps they were right, but I might add the cost of war is usually to high.
