The conservative-leaning Drudge Report -- published by pioneering Internet news maven Matt Drudge -- sported a bizarre headline linking to a Yahoo News photo Thursday in which he alleged President Barack Obama was sporting a "thin moustache" during his speech in Cairo to the Islamic world.
His headline: "PRESIDENT SPORTS THIN MOUSTACHE IN EGYPT..." The photograph and headline link to a Yahoo News photograph, which makes no mention of facial hair.
Drudge's purpose is obviously unclear. But one immediate possibility could be that he's likening Obama to Adolph Hitler. Hitler was known for his distinctive, diminutive mustache. Or it could simply be an attempt to make Obama look absurd -- Zorrro comes to mind.
Far-fetched? Though it might seem so at first glance, a closer inspection reveals that Drudge actually has a photograph of Hitler below and to the right of Obama's photograph on his front page:
The Hitler photograph links to a story containing previously unpublished color photographs of the Fuhrer.
One commenter at the liberal forum Democratic Underground discounted the idea that the conservative opinion-leader was linking the president with Germany's onetime dictator.
"Hitler had a thick, dark, little box of a moustache right under his nose," the commenter wrote. "Obama has a small overlay of fuzz, probably because he didn't run the electric razor over his face before he hopped off the plane."
But the photograph of Hitler on the same page certainly raises the idea.

Of course. It all makes sense now: the evil of Nazism all stems from facial hair. And since we can all IMAGINE Obama has a mustache, he must necessarily be a National Socialist. Good work, Drudge!
Drudge has been comparing Obama to Hitler since before the election. Just now taking notice?

There's quite obviously a concerted effort by some to associate Obama with Hitler. Last month I was amazed to see that googling 'obama hitler' turned up 6 million hits to 'bush hitler' at 2 million hits. After 8 years of people comparing Bush to Hitler, the 6 million hits for Obama and Hitler seem a bit strange.
Today, about a month later, googling 'Obama Hitler' gets 14 million hits to Bush's still 2 million hits. Hmmmm.
When you get into the meat of any of these comparisons, it makes for some good laughs.

The media has shifted so far to the right (wrong) in the past 8 years the needle is almost broken.
The media has supported bush and cheney in every lie they told to destroy Iraq, Afghanistan, our economy, our respect in the world, the need to torture, and on and on. Whenever anyone makes an attempt to report the truth it's looked at as left leaning. If our media was so-called left leaning none of these events would have happened because they would have been exposed for the frauds they were.
If we do get a truthful media and not a corporate leaning and owned media we will be better off as a nation.
