It seems that former President George W. Bush's most ardent supporters are having trouble coming up with messages to praise their onetime chief -- if a report from Erie, Pennsylvania is any guide.
Two sets of spectators, some supportive of George W. Bush and some not, have taken their places near the entrance to the Bayfront Convention Center.
The former president is scheduled to speak at the convention center later this evening, one of his first major addresses since leaving office in January.
His supporters are carrying signs saying "Thank you for defending the babies" and "Welcome President Bush."
The other group has more of a variety of signs, but most regard his role with the war in Iraq. A typical message read: "Arrest Bush for war crimes."
Bush delivered an address to a local business crowd, where he criticized President Barack Obama's policies.

I get so sick and tired of hearing Bush supporters say how history will judge him to be "important" or significant or even good or "noble" (as Bill O'Reilly often has called Bush's efforts in Iraq). These supporters twist facts and information, just as the Bush administration did, in order to make him look better.
The latest, spun by the likes of Ari Fleischer, is that what's happening in Iran right now is a result of Bush's tough stance in the middle east, and the so-called "liberation" of Iraq. What's really the cause of the protesters in Iran is the fact that a very large percentage of Iranians are under the age of 30; they're educated; they have access to the internet. I've seen a number of reports that many of these Iranians do not like Ahmadinejad because of his denial of the holocaust.
Bush caused great chaos in not only this country, but also throughout the world. He has caused so many situations for Obama that will mean Obama is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.
Those who think Bush did such a great job of bringing democracy to Iraq never say that he also was the reason hundreds of thousands of Iraqis were killed and injured.
