A 12-year-old candidate for Iran's presidency said that if elected, he would buy Hawaii from the United States and lease it to Israel.
An introductory sentence that bizarre simply cannot be made up.

A 12-year-old Iranian schoolboy who hopes to unseat hardline president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has vowed that, if elected, he will resettle Israelis in Hawaii, The Scotsman reported on Friday.
"I will buy Hawaii, Obama's birthplace, from the United States and lease it to the Israelis who will go to live there - so that they don't kill children in Gaza," the Scottish daily quoted presidential candidate Kourosh Mozouni as saying.
The paper said Mozouni made the comments to reporters after he turned up to register holding his father's hand and waving a written campaign manifesto.
The boy also said videogames should be banned and men should be paid more so women don't have to work.

Thanks for the inflammatory headline, Rawstory, which does not accurately convey the actual story. First of all, the "candidate" is 12 YEARS OLD, and second, he says ISRAELIS not Jews.
Why don't you then report what all 12 year old Jewish settlers says about Muslims and Arabs? I bet it is waaaaay worse than this.

Actually, if anybody could get over their ancient hatred or notions of holy places, we would have no problem. I think what's lost in all the admittedly good humour in the responses here is that Jews have been an identifiable entity for about 5000 years. They fought for the land when our ancestors were still figuring out how to keep a fire going during the night, or the winter. And they did it mostly successfully for a rather long period of time, even as semi-autonomous vassals along an important trade route.
They maintained their identity, and still do so today by adherence to clear principles on what it means to be a Jew.
I am not Jewish, and genuflect mockingly to any Jewish Princess who thinks knowing the word Goy makes her smart. Jewish intellectuals established 1500-1000 years ago the principles on how one is to treat a non-jew: with respect and integrity, so that you may maintain your own honor. Obviously the timeline reflects the fact that Jews were widely dispersed and respected several major centers of learning, and in an age where a trip to the holy land might take a year....ideas traveled slowly.
For any Iranian (even a cute 12 year old boy) to be totally ignorant of his or her own thousands year-long history of the powerful Persian society and culture, and assume that only the last few hundred years means anything, is to ignore reality.
