Fox News' Griff Jenkins reports that a 'few hundred' protesters showed up at the Washington D.C. tea party in Lafayette Park. "One million teabags were delivered this morning, and they did not have a permit for that, so that had to be taken away," reported Jenkins. The video follows at the end of this post.
Later estimates put the number in Washington at about 1,000, with organizers saying no more than 1,500. Organizers had planned the protests in some 800 cities, but its unknown how many actually took place.
One protester dangled teabags from his glasses to show his support for the tea party. "I think any President of the United States' first prerequisite should be a business owner. If he doesn't know how to run a business how can he run our country?" asked the protester.
Update: A tea party protest outside the White House in Washington, D.C. was shut down by police after a demonstrator threw a package over the fence onto the White House lawn. The package was removed after being approached by -- a robot. Part of the White House was in temporary lockdown, according to MSNBC. A video from the network follows.
The Secret Service put the White House on lockdown after protesters threw what appeared to be a box of teabags over the fence. The North Lawn was evacuated while a robot determined the package wasn't a threat.

Fucking pathetic!
"hung" "teabags" from his glasses?! HAHAHAAHAHHAHH. I love just how stupid folks in this country are. Thanks racists. Where have you been for so long?
The 'tea-baggers', awesome name by the way..., are out of their minds and driving me crazy. How many of these people make more than 250k and are actually going to feel this hike in taxes? And, it is no more of a hike than any blue or white collar worker has had placed on them over the course of the last eight years. There is this Egyptian ideology creeping through the American populous lately that whomever dies with the most money in their accounts wins. I am not advocating striking down those who can run a good business, or penalize those who make a profit, far from it. All I am asking is that those who can should chip in a little extra. Why should the middle-class suffer taxes while billion dollar companies pay peanuts? That is fair? What the hell is wrong with these people?
So if FOX is saying "a few hundred" what was there really? About 20?
Anyone want to take any bets that the guy with the teabags hanging from his glasses is on disability and doesn't pay any taxes?
You can't run a government like you can a business. That's not what government does. Would you want a Ken Lay to be president?
Wasn't there another president lately who might have gone to business school? I wonder how that turned out.
Don't these people know that they are protesting against getting tax cuts?
The only ones effected will be the super rich!
I doubt any billionairs are at the protest march, this is a freakin joke and another right wing ploy to skew the truth.
The republicans LOST, and like a little kid who losses a soccer game, they are gonna cry foul and make up more lame excuses.
If the dipshit that Faux news interviewed was'nt a inbred dumbass he and all other Americans would realize that they are getting tax breaks.
If I hear one more idiot claim socialist state, I'm gonna puke.
What do you think medicare and social security is?
I bet they would be howling like a scalded dog if the Gov. took away there parents social security or medicaid, because these ignorent assholes are probably still living at home off of there parents social security checks, in their trailer parks, drinking beer and shooting their guns at cats.
Good, Lord. These people are so dumb! Aren't Libertarians kind of like atheists? Wouldn't this tea-bagging rally be like atheists protesting a newly appointed pope? I think some wires are crossed here. But, at least they chose an awesome name.
I agree, though, half these people don't pay taxes, those who yell the loudest are often the most guilty.
I think to run a business should be restated to, 'run a successful business.' In that case Bush/Cheney worked out well...Bush was the smiling dumbass who took all the hits while Cheney worked behind the scenes to leave up with this tipped-over port-a-poty of a mess to clean up.
One can only hope there is a hell and that these evil, vile excuses for humans that they are.
Please. Do not conflate Libertarians and atheists.
I think it's really damn funny that most of these people are righty types and they're using the tea party which by it's origin attacked the Wal Martization of tea commerce in the early colonies. I'll bet most of these people just came back from Wal Mart after having paid next to nothing for their bulk tea bags.
None so blind as those that will not see.
WOW, look at all the ultra-liberals making up all kinds of generalizations and insinuations. Racists, tax evaders, social security recipients, crazy, dumbasses, and atheists. How are you any different? You are seriously making fun of disabled people? Cold hearted bastards.
Are you people human or just complete morons. So what if they are protesting, this is their right to do so. Obviously you could care 2 shits about the Constitution, because clearly your man, Obama, doesn't either. Obama's administration is full of tax evaders, but you think it's ok. Obama filled his cabinet with the same scum as Bush did, and yet you say, give him time! He is starting fights with North Korea, Somalia, and continuing the War in Afghanistan...but you all just sit there and justify this somehow. WHAT COMPLETE HYPOCRITES.
You people are complete idiots, just read your comments back, instead of making the typical ultra-liberal reactionary response. You are just like the people you are against. Quit with the fake liberal vs. conservative fight. Quit your idiotic insinuations. Quit. Now.
Eric
You are an unmitigated idiot who has drunk the koolade or paid no attention for the last 8 years. No one has disputed the right to demonstrate, just the foolishness of the people who organized this.
Right on the "daily Paul", a Ron Paul site, Libertarians & Ron Paulites claim Republicans hijacked the libertarian tea party's:
http://www.dailypaul.com/node/89097
Bizarre....
Rich people have always run this country. I remember back when I voted for Bush in 2000, everybody said, "Oh.... Bush is a businessman! He can be trusted."
He did a miserable job. And now I am supposed to take it out on Obama!?!?
These poor dupes are being manipulated by the rich. After 8 years of Bush fleecing this country for billions of dollars, now the people he enriched are upset that the party is over. So, they started some websites and paid for all this propaganda, knowing that the American people are fed up with the state of the nation, and direct their rage at our new, democratically elected President.
These people are angry, but they don't know what to be angry for. So, they are being manipulated into "revolution." Lenin, I think, had a name for people like this: Useful Idiots.
Reading these comments just reinforces my initial observation of the minds of america today: THINKING must be an ACQUIRED skill.
All you ppl saying, ONLY the billion dollar companies will be hit with taxes why are we worried about it??? Only the super rich will be affected?? You are the VERY ones who don't even think for yourselves-you're being spoonfed smooth politician talk and eating it up like berber's baby food without even ATTEMPTING to apply critical thinking skills!
Think of the "trickle down" effect that all this stimulus and bailout stuff is supposed to happen on the economy. Well, the SAME rule applies when you talk of increasing taxes on the rich. You think the employees of the billion dollar companies won't be affected? How do you think the super rich business owners will make up for their increased taxes.....believe me, the middle class WILL end up paying it indirectly. It's just like all you people who get excited about getting a refund check at tax time. All it meant was that Uncle Sam took TOO MUCH money from you throughout the year, and you aren't even entitled to that interest lost on it. But you are THANKFUL! HA...joke's on you suckers.
christine: So, how did LOWERING taxes on the rich from 2000->2008 work out for the middleclass?
Lou--well, Im the bottom of lower class--and I fared even worse off that I ever have actually.
"You are seriously making fun of disabled people? Cold hearted bastards."
no, if you're getting a government check and bitching abuot people paying taxes, you're clearly to mentally disabled to be allowed out in public. That's not making fun of the disabled, but I suspect you're too simple to understand that. most on the right-wing are.
These dipwads are a joke. It's likely they don't have a clue as to how really, really stupid they come across. Like walrus-face with the tea bags dangling from his fleshy jowels, making moronic comments.
Today's conservatives seem like some kind of demented clown troupe.
"So what if they are protesting, this is their right to do so. Obviously you could care 2 shits about the Constitution, because clearly your man, Obama, doesn't either."
And that the right-wing destroyed our liberties for 8 years doesn't stick in your memory? moron or brain damaged?
You fucking idiots make me sick. Keep up with the partisan bullshit, it just proves how clueless you really are.
And no, I don't support Obama, nor the Democrats.. but they sure are a LOT less fucked up than ANYONE on the right-wing.
what did that stupid fuck with the tea-bags on his glasses say? should be a business owner to run the country? WTF has a business owner ever done for society other than try to suck up way more wealth than they are worth?
white trash making $25,000 a year that supports the right-wing has nothing to stand on but their racism and ignorance.. and I'm pretty sure most of those people at these rallies aren't making big bank, which means they are screaming just to make noise. Their right? you bet, and it's my right to laugh my ass off at them.
get over it... fucktards.
"WOW, look at all the ultra-liberals making up all kinds of generalizations and insinuations" .... "Quit with the fake liberal vs. conservative fight. Quit your idiotic insinuations. Quit. Now." ..... "WHAT COMPLETE HYPOCRITES."
LMFAO.. wow.
more fun pics!!!

"Think of the "trickle down" effect that all this stimulus and bailout stuff is supposed to happen on the economy. Well, the SAME rule applies when you talk of increasing taxes on the rich"
LOL.. so, apples now are the same as oranges?
talk about not having critical thinking skills.
"How do you think the super rich business owners will make up for their increased taxes.....believe me, the middle class WILL end up paying it indirectly."
The solution is to say anyone person that makes over $7.5 million a year (the amount the government says a human life is worth) pays 100% tax on everything over that. For companies, make it some percentage of their overall gross.. what does that do? removes any reason for them to jack the shit out of prices because they don't keep that money anyway, and if they jack their prices to be pricks, the government will collect that money and provide services for the people being abused by the companies.
secondarily, the entire cause of our problems is because we use money to determine who gets what resources, and the ruling elite have rigged the game via the monetary system, and by the interest system. All of our money is a scam at this point, and the system is not sustainable. NO ONE can make it work long term because it can never be made to work.
The answer is to abolish money; switch to a resource based economy and provide food and shelter and clothing for every man, woman, and child on the planet.. leverage our technology (which WILL make almost everyone unemployed eventually anyway) and stop using the mentality of "cost" in terms of "dollars".
We have enough stuff, we have enough energy, if we stop looking at it in terms of private ownership of resources. We all live here, and the planet's health effects us all, so we all need to become one giant family, and we all need to share all the resources and need to do things in terms of what's best for us all, not what's best for the less than 1/10 of 1% of the population.
erik: Wow. Look at all the reichwing knuckledraggers missing the point as usual.
Craziness:
"How many of these people make more than 250k and are actually going to feel this hike in taxes?"
That's right but there is even more to be said: the government has reduced the withholding amount for federal income taxes from middle- and lower-income American workers’ paychecks.
http://thinkprogress.org/2009/04/13/gallup-income-taxes/
The amount withheld should already be lower in your "W2 wages" paycheck. If you are self employed then you will see a smaller tax due at the end of the year.
These people are being run by a mob rule effect and they do not listen to facts.
"...Because they're stupid that's why everyone does anything" Homer Simpson
- like hanging tea-bags from their glasses and making ALL of the above comments.
BTW, erik: Look at all the white people at these protests, look at the target of their protest, and look at the organizers of their protest. This is a racistly driven protest: a bunch of cracker-assed crackers (no doubt identical in complexion to you, erik) who cannot swallow the fact that an African-American man was elected by a handsome majority to lead this nation. These Neanderthals, and you by extension, have obfuscated the true intention of their (your) protest: this isn't about taxation so much as it is about sour grapes and bitter fruit. If any of these morons (and you by extension) bothered to look at Obama's tax plan, you'd see that it benefits 90% of Americans -- the working class mostly -- and taxes the top 10% (the rich and greedy) who pay the least for the largest haul. These morons' taxes (and yours by extension) will actually DECREASE under Obama's plan. So what the fuck is your beef really?
Really, it's all about race, isn't it, whitey? These fools and you by extension can't deal with the thought of a black man leading the nation.
If these "morans" (and you by extension) bothered to look at the source of these protests, you'd see that it is purely Repiglican, and rich-assed Repiglican at that: Dick Armey, Newt Gingrich, Roger Ailes and Fox News -- Jesus H. Christ, this reads like a fucking rogue's gallery more than it does a sponsorship list.
Pull your head out of your ignorant ass and look at who's truly controlling this ridiculous, usurped teabagging bullshit: it is the very rich who will have to pay for what they taken from the nation for the past eight years. They are a greedy, shitty lot, and so are you by your own ignorant extension.
If this "grass roots" protest were in anyway genuine, I would support it's right to exist as I would any democractic movement in this nation. But this load of horseshit is a manufactured protest: one built by the right, funded by the rich, supported by the racist, and manned by the retarded (and by you by extension). It also comes after much derision of actual grass roots movements (MoveOn.org, war protests, the Obama campaign support) by these same intellectual/morally bereft fools.
Get a fucking grip on reality, erik, even if it's a grip by extension only.
Karl, they also believe the fallacy of "trickle down", so they fear the trickle down of higher taxes will hit them, too.
The problem is, trickle down has NEVER panned out, in either direction.. nor has cutting taxes on corporations created more (good paying) jobs, and in fact, some of those breaks encouraged offshoring jobs.
The time is coming where history will have to be left behind us and the future will be a world where everyone, EVERYONE, shares in ownership of all resources/materials on the planet. A world where education is the cornerstone of our existence, and technology is used to better our lives, not generate material wealth.
I fear that 75% or more of the people on this planet would have no idea what to do with themselves if they had nothing but free time and _real_ freedom.. to come and go as they pleased, without fear of being left to starve in the streets. We're all wage slaves at present, and I think that's why most people "dream of being rich"... so they don't want to tax their dream, even though reality says 99% of those dreamers will NEVER be rich.
It ties back to rampant superstition, I think.. and it's very sad.
Just came from there and it's only around (IF) 50 people.
Here's part of why the taxes on the rich need to go up..

drrrr?
The space is as big a 2 bedroom put together with a little stage. LMAO
'Must own a business before he can be president'.....let's see...wasn't Chimpy a multiple business owner?? He FAILED MISERABLY AT RUNNING EVERYTHING !!
These levels of stupidity and tone deafness are not likely to be reached again this century...
""My money is disappearing," said one protester, Marilyn Henretty 70, a retiree. "We are tired of being taxed without representation.""
LMFAO.. so, the people she voted for in November aren't making these laws? .. wow..
It will never cease to amaze (and disgust) me just how ignorant Americans are in general, and much worse so on the right-wing.
hell, a "technology professional" I work with just yesterday said "Barry wasn't even born in America, no one has offered any proof that he was, and his mother was too young to confer citizenship on him when he was born in another country".
When supposedly "smart people" still cling to that shit, after the Hawaii birth certificate has been shown and confirmed to be legal/real from the 50s, WTF do we do as a nation? We're clinically fucktarded I think.
I wonder if those little teabags on his glasses are an allegoric representation of his and other tabaggers' testicles. The right wing is such a simplistic lot, even that Erik chap about "liberals'. They have little concept of tax proposals and reality. But that's why they supported GWB and his idiocy for 8 years.
After watching this vid, I was too kind about those idiots. The news cast itself is like watching "Science Guy" doing the news. All fun and Mickey Mouse Club antics. Sheeesh!
JAG: The right is full of small-balled morons who would vote for an action figure if they felt it hid through overt, feigned machisimo their inadequacy and impotency. It's the reason these fools loved GW: they could dress him up in a flight suit and pretend he was He-Man savin' the hypochristian trailer trash from the evil brown people.
In fact, these people are eerily similar to the plastic, hollow action figures they elect: i.e., utterly bereft (my word of the day) of any genitalia whatsoever, and so they hang teabags in effigy of their non-existent testicles.
what a waste of perfectly good tea. I guess when you lose the white house, lose the senate, lose the house, and generally lose any claim to be moderate or even in the middle class you throw a frickin tea party. How quaint.
While listening to Big Eddie Schultz.
A conservative caller said :
" I'm a conservative I don't think . . . (pause) . . ."
Hmmm... I think he said everything . . .
~
J Lewd just as I was saying. Glad the message reads the same to both of us!
And, yes send robots in to get a potential bomb, of course! Why waste a human life for a right wing nut job? Owning 50 Cal assault rifles, these folks would most l;ikely send in bombs. Whack-jobs and not in a good way.....
"I think any President of the United States' first prerequisite should be a business owner. If he doesn't know how to run a business how can he run our country?"
Uh, you morons have already forgotten that G W Shrub was 'the first MBA pResident' -- and look how well he ran the country as well as the state he left it in.
Watch 'The Obama Deception' on google video and find out why we are moving closer to a one world government. Obama works for the international banking cartels.
This tea party nonsense is just manufactured distraction.
Real Americans are pissed off and it's because Bush destroyed the U.S. and Obama is taking the rest.
These people are the same lineage that removed Kennedys from office. When they can't have their own limited, evil, authoritarian way with the country, they resort to extreme violence to usurp Democracy -- all the while claiming to be patriots.
They are worse than the Taliban, worse than Al Qaeda, because of their proximity.
Edilla...Is there a little tent that those who want privacy to teabag each other can retire to?
"Real Americans are pissed off and it's because Bush destroyed the U.S. and Obama is taking the rest."
Lucid commentary.. nice
Though, the right-wing, while loving the destruction of America [for the poor, letting the rich have the rest], are pissed that Obama is also trying to help the down trodden while we take over the world.
The new boss isn't a lot different than the old boss... but the differences are clear (unfortunately, not nearly numerous enough).
Resource Based Economy... it's coming, it's just a question of how much damage we do before we let it.
Wotta freaking idiot!!
A GOVERNMENT is not a BUSINESS.
We're in the deep doo-doo that we're IN because so many people refuse to acknowledge that fact.
Government should be run like a FAMILY, not a business. A business should produce products and get paid for it. They're supposed to profit. A family should raise healthy, happy, well adjusted children who can make their way in life, accept responsibility, pass on their wisdom to the next generation, etc, etc. A family is supposed to earn enough to live well, but NOT MAKE PROFIT THE PRIMARY GOAL.
Government is ALSO not intended to make a profit. Governmental goals should be MUCH MORE like a family. If more people would be willing to LET GO OF THE STOOPID CONCEPT THAT GOVERNMENT IS BUSINESS, then we'd be in tremendously much better shape than we are right now.
These comments are fuggin' awesome. Just awesome. I can add nothing. Thanks for making my day you guys.
People need to get the idea that "business is good", or even "useful" out of their heads.
We don't need to be wage slaves any more. We don't need the old way of doing things any more. We don't need to dedicate so much time laboring any more because we have computers and robots that can do MOST of our tedious tasks.. we just have to build them.
If we all worked for 6 hours a day, 4 days a week in 4 shifts, everyone would be "employed" while we build up the starting infrastructure. Abolish money, abolish all debt, everyone get to work so we can finally never "have to" work again.
We'd be well on our way in a generation (15 - 20 years).. one shot deal, one concerted push to lay the foudations.
but we won't do that because the current environment breeds selfishness and contempt and ignorance... because that's good for BUSINESS... /sigh
Left v. Right
Dems v. Reps.
Conservatives v. Liberals
Makes you think you have to choose a side and loyally root for the home team no matter how bad they are.
Let me break it down for you.
Them v. us (and many of you blog for "them") pat thetic
J Lewd - are you a male? i love you!! will you marry me?
you have expressed perfectly everything i have been thinking.
thank you!!!!
While I don't blame anybody here for laughing at these poor wretches, I urge you to rethink the Us Vs. Them mentality. Like many of you here, I despise the intellectual laziness and moral depravity on display but these tools are pawns in their politician's games (as Bob Dylan would sing). So too are we, whether or not we want to admit it. In watching Obama wanting to turn the page on Bush & Co. as opposed to pursuing justice, I can't say that the hope/change he preached will be practiced and that those of us who were unwavering in our support are pawns in his game. I'd rather be his pawn than a pawn of the GOP, but it's kind of stupid for us to be looking down our noses with a false sense of empowerment at these right-wing loonies with their teabags who are feeling a true sense of disempowerment. Dem's my thoughts.
The Red pill people have decided that they would rather live (and most likely die) in a dream world rather than get their hands dirty getting our nation out of the ditch. I can live with that, if not for the fact that they wish to take some of the Blue pill people out to ovblivion with them. I'd rather they go to hell by themselves, thankyouverymuch.
Most look like hillbillies and remember they breed more liker them.
This is a good opportunity to point this out.
During every election, people support their candidate by stating you should never vote for a third party. You would of course be voting for someone who can't win. Ron Paul, in essence, was third party. He ran as republican with libertarian values.
I have a long held theory, nay, observation, that the quickest way to make change in a two party system is to vote third party on principle.
Sure, you throw the current election, but look how quickly the republicans became Ron Paul fiscal conservatives! Both parties take a hard look at the issues that bled them.
Vote your conscience, always. It DOES make a difference. Ignore the winner vs loser rhetoric. Always vote principle.
damixaustex, your premise requires that our "choices" aren't pre-made for us and simply presented to us.
No one (other than Kucinich) that ran in the last election would have done what needed to be done to "help America". Everyone else (from the front runners) only cares about business, including Paul.
And, the more you look at some of the deeper things that are happening in our world, the scarcity based model has to go, and we need to become a global community, all helping each other in all things. The planet can't take any more of this pillaging for the gain of the few, we need a new direction.. and you aren't going to "elect" someone to do that, because the moneyed interests will never contribute to their campaign (a must to be "elected" in America), nor will their word be spammed on Fox or any of the alphabet stations.
no, we're on our own and we must push this change or it will fall on us. Either way, money is a primitive means of existence and is neither sustainable nor needed.
so suppose 300 of the ball lickers showed up and it's claimed that they had 1 million teabags. That's about 3,333 tea bags a piece.
even if it was 500 of these ball lickers, that's still 2000 tea bags a piece.
right, 1 million tea bags.
I guess they haven't figured out the new math yet.
Ron Paul:
Ron Paul paul ron ron paully paul paul Ron. Ron ron ron ron paul, ron paul, ron paul paul paul. Ron paul.
Ronpauly,
Ronpaul
Speaking of programmed robots. . . .
I'd vote Bruno before I'd vote Ron Paul.
Thanks, Heather. I like your comments, too.
And, yes, I'm male, but not the marrying type.
I blush at your offer.
sincerely,
JL
What a joke. do these people even know what the Boston Tea Party was about?
It was all about the common folk's anger at Britain reducing taxes for a huge conglomo British tea company so they could sell their tea below market prices in the Colonies. These protesters must be true idiots.
Obama has reduced taxes on those making less than 250K a year and should actually rollback the Reagan tax cuts, not the Bush-2 taxcuts for the wealthy.
Unbelievable.... Newt Gingrich must be laughing his ass off right now thinking how easy it is to manipulate the media (his friends at Fox) and the common folk who don't know any better.
Most of these folks are probably out of work and clueless what they stand for.
God help us all.

if you ever change your mind...
keep up the good fight.
oh and if you don't mind i am going to start using your "small - balled morons" comment. there is alot of those where i work.
If we group this diseased low minders together, we can probably take them all out with a few drones, maybe 4 at most.
Rid our planet of these insects Mr. President!
Is that two mini-douche bags the guy has hanging off his glasses?
"The planet can't take any more of this pillaging for the gain of the few, we need a new direction"
Yeah, just look at Somalia. Agreed. Well, look at Iraq, Pakistan, Tibet and just about every other post colonial blunder.
But, Savanster, you said, "Either way, money is a primitive means of existence and is neither sustainable nor needed."
I agree to some extent, and I'm certain you have more to say behind this, but I gotta tell ya, money currently keeps the peace in a lot of ways. If we had no fair exchange vehicle across borders besides the resources and land and productivity, we'd see a heck of a lot more incursions, and a lot less global travel. Money, in some ways, can be the great stabilizer. Think about the folks who live on crappy land with crappy geo-political pasts. I'd move, wouldn't you? No matter what it costs? Hey, maybe we're genetically inclined to go next door and kick the shit out of someone for their really tasty beans. If you ran a country that had great education and a lot of talent, wouldn't you want to keep the talent at home?
I think you've accurately defined the end of the colonial era. "it's ours" and "there's the border" and other such nonsense is slowly evaporating, like glass . We are in the process of transcending into an era of border-less alliance by ideology due to the information age. Perhaps we'll move on to a moneyless era, but it's a long way off and we have a lot of borders to deal with. I like the progress so far, and, I dare say money made it happen.
"Fascism should rightly be called Corporatism as it is a merge of state and corporate power." -- Benito Mussolini
I'm all for making nice and following the rules, everything I need to know I learned in kindergarten, etc., but these people are beyond the pale. How do you have a discussion with people whose views are fundamentally insane and irrational?
Short of involuntary medication, there's just no way.
Shout out to my homegirl Christine, no. 15 up top. You go girl! And take your tenuous grip on logic, standard syntax, and grammar with you.
"I think any President of the United States' first prerequisite should be a business owner. If he doesn't know how to run a business how can he run our country?" asked the protester.
Hell, why not return to the "land-owning white male" criteria while we're at it? (And why is it that none of these teabagging idiots can correctly speak their native tongue?)
So, this guy in the photo who's teabagging his own face, is a fascist:
One protester dangled teabags from his glasses to show his support for the tea party. "I think any President of the United States' first prerequisite should be a business owner. If he doesn't know how to run a business how can he run our country?"
Liberals and conservatives, stop thinking in left vs right. Think in more government in your life or less government in your life. I prefer the latter. Ron Paul.
No complaints when Bush spends trillions, only when the next president is stuck with the bill and wants to pay for it. You see there really is a free lunch.
I just have to wonder if Foley, Haggard, Stevens and Gannon/Guckert were out there teabagging with the rest of them?
There's a beautiful allegory for what these nutless teabaggers are doing. It's the perfect counterpoint to their historic model.
The Boston Tea Party (BTP) was a revolt against British taxation of the colonies: the colonies had no voice in Parliament to fight the tax, ergo taxation without representaion. The brave protesters tossed British tea crates into Boston Harbor to puncuate their protest with action. The only complaint: they dressed like Native Americans to throw the blame elsewhere. (Boston -- what do you expect?)
The Nutless Teabag Party (NTP) is revolting, of that there's no doubt. But the issue these morons are revolting against isn't clearly defined, although it IS clearly expressed in their whitey-white, racist, mono"cultural" demographic. The NTP claims this is about taxation, but really now, who in their right fucking mind would revolt against being taxed less, which means 90% of the US population and 100% of these unemployed swamp-dwellers? Even then, these idiots forget that President Barack Obama was elected to represent our country by a large portion of its electoral constituency: hence, reduced taxation by representation.
No, this revolt is about something much more bigoted and inane: it is about cracker-assed crackers not being able to deal with the election of an African-American President. It is about devolution, not evolution.
Here's the laughable part: whereas the BTP took it upon themselves to physically jettison tea crates into a cold, treacherous Atlantic harbor, these NTP buffoons simply purchased Lipton teabags at their local 7/11 to dangle like their non-existent nuts in the faces of thinking men and women all across America. So, I guess in that sense, they are truly teabaggers, though in the same way a neutered dog is a breeding stud.
To reiterate: these fools BOUGHT their teabags (just like they bought the Republicans' lies) or worse, were provided the teabags (just like they are provided their idiotic talking points by the Republicans) by trojan protest organizers like Freedom Watch, Cock Armey, Faux News, and Newtered Gingrich. These chuckleheads then carried their store-bought teabags to the protest where. . .
. . . they were stopped by the National Parks Service from depositing the trash on federally protected land.
So much for dramatic protest.
And so much for the spontaneous, grass roots claim.
This trojan tea party is nothing more than manufactured dissent, bought and paid for by the Republican Party. It is also what it was from the start: a dismal failure perpetrated by dismal failures.
I did not vote for Ron Paul, but one thing I can say about him is that if he won he would really have shaken up Washington. The best thing he would have done is educate the public about war. The Dems do not even try to educate the public about war.
Craziness: How many of these pathetic swamp creatures make more than $250? Recycling Budweiser cans is not the lucrative business it appears to be. . . .
Wilburrr... ~ Have a ball with a bunch of nuts and the fox " Teabag Terrorists " . . .
~
You got to wonder how many of these poor people out there with their Fox Entertainment tea bags make over $250,000 a year? How about ZERO. Rich people do not protest to get more tax cuts. They have made out like fat rats in a cheese factory during the fascist Bush crime family rule.
And if people like poor Christine (#15) think that "tinkle down" really works, how did it work for you for the last 8 years? Did you get enough of the tinkle down to buy a new car?? To equate that rich people merely raise their prices to pay higher taxes is just plain dumb. Many of these people are "trust fund babies" and have never worked a day in their lives, much like George Bush, being born with a silver spoon in their mouths and no brains in their head.
This "tea party" is merely an attempt by Fox Entertainment to help raise the republiKKKon party from their own fascist depths. The republiKKKon party is now the party of 26% and they are trying to re-live the failed attempts of Herbert Hoover. The SECOND GREAT REPUBLIKKON DEPRESSION is in full swing and they have no ideas except to make Obama "fail" and our country with him. RepubliKKKons need to return to their roots of lower deficits, something they NEVER did during the bush crime family's reign of terror for 8 long years. Just voting NO on everything is not going to help America get out of the Bush depression.
Their Fox and republiKKKon leaders are failed obese drug addicts, failed business and reich-wing religious crazy people and career polititians that have no new ideas but are determined to make America into a 3rd world country. How sad for our kids to be saddled with the deficits of the bush crime family and will never know the America I grew up in. It may take 20-30 years to recover from the crimes of the Bush crime family.
The truly funny thing about this: There are probably more people in San Francisco presently teabagging their loved ones than there are mental troglodytes teabagging reduced taxation countrywide.
And Libertarians are upset about Republicans usurping their protest?!!
What about the genuine, dyed-in-the-wool, nutsack-in-hand teabaggers who've had their entire passtime usurped by political mongoloids?
Here's the REAL crime: the joyous fun of bouncing ones balls off the willing forehead of another (a " 'mo-alition of the willing," if you will) will forevermore be tainted by this political sham.
"If they don't like it, they should leave it." How many times did they say that during the Bush years.
Look at all you hypocritical brain washed liberals. No where in my statement did I say I was a Republican, a Bush supporter, or a tea bagger. But the responses from you chumps:
----Ron Brown , Phoenix
Eric
You are an unmitigated idiot who has drunk the koolade or paid no attention for the last 8 years.
-Again, I was against 99% of what Bush did...your argument falls flat, and it's spelled KOOLAID.
-----Savantster
"You are seriously making fun of disabled people? Cold hearted bastards."
no, if you're getting a government check and bitching abuot people paying taxes, you're clearly to mentally disabled to be allowed out in public. That's not making fun of the disabled, but I suspect you're too simple to understand that. most on the right-wing are.
-SO, you are going with the idiot that posted, "He is probably disabled..." The poster that said this, had no evidence stating this person was disabled or not, hence he was making fun of disabled people. Again, I'm not right-wing so take your left/right BS elsewhere, obviously you are too simple minded to know there are more then two kinds of people in this Country.
----J Lewd
Really, it's all about race, isn't it, whitey? These fools and you by extension can't deal with the thought of a black man leading the nation.
-WOW, another ultra insinuation. No where did I say anything about race being my motivating factor, nor do I subscribe to racist ideals. Again, your ultra-liberal argument falls flat. When I was screaming about Bush being the worst Pres. ever, maybe then I was against whitey. Maybe you are the racist? Nice try, horrible argument.
Oh and J Lewd...your comment about the Boston Tea Party, is historically WRONG. Actually, the BTP, was because the British said the ships did not have to pay taxes to the Colonies. The Colonies held 3 ships at bay because they were not going to pay taxes and trying to leave without paying these taxes. There were around 200 men that dressed up like Native Americans, boarded the ship, and tossed the offending cargo into the Bay. OH OH. You can't even get history right, how the hell do you think you can get the present right?
Left -vs- Right, Conservatives -vs- Liberals, and Dems -vs- Repubs... I guess that's how you want it, while the Country gets raped and pillaged.
I saw all these same guys in the Gathering of Eagles. I like their new outfits this time out.
J Lewd
There are probably more people in San Francisco presently teabagging their loved ones than there are mental troglodytes teabagging reduced taxation countrywide.
Another great stat. You are worse then Fox News with your generalizations and fact checking, and that is not easy.
Should be a business owner or can't be expected to "run" the country?....like a corporation (CEO's and Executives) (in case that stupid a*s doesn't understand the definition of "Fascsim" a coprate run government IS fascism!..DUH!)..that sucks all the bone and muscle from the worker and spits out the bones come retirement time..that kind of business owner..? or like G.W. Bush's failed (in every one of his businesses) business sense..(had to have Daddy, and Daddy's friends bail him out ..?)
erik: Being you and being wrong all the time must really suck. There are way more intelligent things you could have said
if you only had a brain.
Do the math yourself, retard: Faux News claims "tens of thousands," which probably means either "ten" or "thousand," since these math-challenged assholes can't even correctly remember when their station went on the air (Neal Cavuto's fucktarded lie about giving the Million Man March the same amount of coverage).
Let me help you with your numeratin'. There are 800,000 people living in SF -- and 1.5 million working here on any given day. If 10% of America is gay, and SF is way gay, by the way, so let's say SF is 20% gay: that makes a potential of anywhere between 160,000 and 300,000 gay San Franciscans who may be teabagging as we speak. This does not count the number of possible gay-to-straight or straight-to-straight teabaggings that could be occurring simultaneously. Even if this number is only one-tenth the calculation, it is more teabaggings than that mustered by a bunch of web-toed, swamp-living hillbillies countrywide.
So, my advice to you: go back to your trailer: NASCAR's on Fox and the local Krispy Kreme is giving away free donuts.
J Lewd
You wrote, I sang it.
Maybe you missed a Paul sound.
No, I love your post.
erik -- Read a little further down the Wikipedia entry you cobbed, and you'll find this little gem: "The Tea Party was the culmination of a resistance movement throughout British America against the Tea Act, which had been passed by the British Parliament in 1773. Colonists objected to the Tea Act for a variety of reasons, especially because they believed that it violated their constitutional right to be taxed only by their own elected representatives."
What's that you were saying in between mouthing breaths?
NASCAR. . . .
Krispy Kreme. . . .
damixaustex: Sorry, man. It was a knee-jerk reaction to all the Ron Paul mania we dealt with in the last election cycle: a blog thread about a plane crashing in Kansas suddenly turns on the comment, "Democrats and Republicans are behind planes crashing. President Ron Paul will not allow airplanes to crash. Ron Paul in 2008!" It was a bit much to handle.
J Lewd, do you live here or something? I can't enter any RS comments without stumbling over your vagrant ass.
If you guys have such a hard on for paying taxes then pay mine! Fuck, I stopped paying from two years ago because I refuse to fund illegal wars, and I am certainly not going to pay for weapons that Israel uses to kill Palestinian children, and I SURE as hell am NOT going to fucking pay for any fucking bankers who went running to congress like crybabies because they didn't want to take a loss due to the FINANCIAL FUCKING BLACKHOLE THEY OPENED UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FINANCIAL FUCKING UNIVERSE.
So fuck you. I am NOT paying any of my fucking taxes because as far as I'm concerned they are illegitimate and I'm not being represented at any level in this fucking joke of a country anymore.
Maybe J Lewd wants to pay my taxes since he seems to have a job posting comments on RS, and at the rate he's posting them he must be making bank.
Tax hike for the wealthy? Repeal Reagan's tax cuts and you're talking real money. Go back to Eisenhower's era, and you're talking about a stable middle class.
This is better than any sitcom EVER! Thanks for the comedic relief repuglicant's!!
That being said, these teabag protests are obviously lame on a number of levels.
1) The whole movement was started by Rick Santelli's lame rant, and then the shill republican groups came in and whipped up a frenzy over it.
2) Why waste perfectly good tea? For that matter, why go out and spend good money on good tea that you're then going to waste? That's just fucking stupid. Not to mention that the whole Boston Tea Party thing is a bad analogy to use for this movement.
3) The whole protest has come to revolve around teabags, teabagging, sticking ones nuts in the mouth of another, etc. DOES ANYONE KNOW THAT THIS IS ACTUALLY A TAX PROTEST? Even teabagee Rick Santelli, when he put on his gay-assed rant, was bitching about the fact that the government was proposing to give people with crap mortgages a bailout. HE HAD NOTHING TO SAY ABOUT THE FACT THAT WE GAVE TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO BAIL OUT THE BANKS. So FUCK RICK SANTELLI AND ANYONE WHO THINKS HE'S SOME KIND OF FUCKING PATRIOT. He's a fucking shill for the bankers. I hope he chokes on a pair of hairy balls.
So anyway, I have to go to the bank and pay my fucking mortgage. You douchebags arguing against the teabaggers: just understand that there are TWO movements here: one is a shill Republican play that is attempting to coopt the REAL movement which is people like me who are sick to fucking death of paying our god damned hard-earned money to kill brown people in other parts of the world and to bailout bankers who don't want to accept that they made stupid bets and LOST.
That the true patriots are mixing with the teabaggers is unfortunate, but it's not their fault. THE BANKS ARE COOPTING THE MOVEMENT FOR THEIR OWN NEFARIOUS PURPOSES.
Learn to think critically you Joe Biden-inspired sheep. FUCK YOU.
I was going to call this the douche bag revolt, that is until I bought more stock in Lipton's.
The funny thing is- they probably got tea made in China and sold at Walmart.
One million teabags and no permit? Good Lord, these guys are morons for sure!
Why don't they throw Rick Perry in jail. He called for Texas to secede from the Union at his teabagging event. And these right wing nutcases are supposed to be the patriots?
abraham: You crazy, misdirected fool. If this teabagging bullshit was truly a revolt against taxation, I'd be for it. But guess what? It's not. This Repug-manufactured scam is a targeted opposition to President Obama and the Democratic-majority Congress. It has little to with taxation, everything to do with opposition and obstruction.
Further, the fact that this crap is funded by Freedom Watch courtesy of Dick Armey and other bullshit reichwing organizations run by shitbags like Newtered Gingrich is a fucking joke: worse, it is an affront to any thinking human. Getting the poor and middle class to protest a tax REDUCTION for the poor and middle class and to lobby for a permanent emplacement of Bush-era Capital Gains taxes and other tax breaks for the rich is fee-ucking ridiculous. So get your shit straight before you start calling people out: teabagging is less about taxes and more about racist reactionary morons voicing their ignorance for their Republican handlers. Why else would Repug shills like Joe the Not-Plumber and other asshats be speaking at these events if they were truly grass roots events? The teabag movement is about one thing and one thing only: the rich pulling the wool over the eyes of the poor and working class.
As for vagrant, I work for a living, assmunch. Pay your own fucking taxes, which you claim you don't. I didn't approve of the way Bush spent my tax money, so I resisted where reasonable. But I agree a bit more with the way this President is spending them. Rebuilding America for the future sounds like a pretty damned good idea to me. If it doesn't to you, well, maybe you should move to Texass. I hear those hollow-headed hillbillies are talking secession: you'll do well there.
P.S.: Since when is this world a first-shift-only working world? Get a clue, "moran."
Where do they find these dumb bastards?
Just have Obama take over these organizations like he took over GM. That's rather fascist. I can't wait for the 2010 Chevy Changemobile. It kind of reminds me of when they let Homer Simpson design a car. However it is not nearly as funny as a community organizer thinking he can micromanage the global economy, which is what Socialism asserts it can do. Bush sucked at it and so will Obama, but the banks will get rich no matter what, got to look out for their base.
Looks like somebody unplugged a toilet and now TRS is flooded with Macaca Sucaca and abraham.
Well nut-sacker parties are good for laughs anyway.
Nah come on J Lewd, I'd like to know how a government corrupted by billion dollar corporations and special interests is going to get better and become legit by throwing more money at the same politicians that are corrupt. Here's a little experiment you can try out. Get 1000 dollars go to a city and wave it around as you walk, you are bound to be surrounded by some shady people trying to get that money. Then try the same thing with trillions of dollars.
Macaca Suc(whatever). did you just wake up, like Rip Van Winkle, after sleeping for 8 years? The fascism has already occurred! Habeous corpus - naw! Illegal communications intercepts - you betcha! No-bid contracts to political cronies - hey, it's only business! Torture anyone handed to us after giving cash bounties to their captors? They were terrorists! Siphon off billions of dollars meant for Iraq reconstruction? What billions of dollars? What reconstruction? Yes, let's just keep flushing money down the same toilet while our infrastucture rots! If you want to study the accomplishments of a real conservative, study Eisenhower. Tax the rich, build America's middle class and infrastructure.
America would't be what it is today without Eisenhower.
Macaca: the bailout is a little more complex than your third-grade Civics project would suggest. The fact that some of these entities have proven their greed is indeed unfortunate. But don't forget: this TARP plan was created and enacted by the previous administration. This administration is only trying to make present legislation work. I'm no fan of Geithner; he pays his taxes about as diligently as abraham does. But I agree with the Democrats' theory that we cannot repeat Hoover's failed experiment in thrift nor continue the tax-cuts-for-the-rich mentality that 20+ years of Raygunomics and 12 years of Repuglican deregulation offered. Present indicators seem to show a positive result. Granted, it's too early to tell, but it's way better than the McCain head-in-the-sand option.
Government is corrupt, to be sure -- that is why electing someone not long in it is a good idea. And in spite of all the shitbags "elected" by the ignorant states of Texass, Ohio, the Carolinas, ad nauseum, there are a few good souls in sea of soulless thiefs. Paul Wellstone was a gem, until the Repugs murdered him. Russ Feingold was and remains a salient voice in a sea of Repug slime. The Britney Cantors, John Boners, and Bitch O'Connells of the unthinking states of america will always be there -- especially as long as there are teabagging retards willing to protest tax cuts for the poor and middle class in place of tax cuts for the rich. The best we can hope for is reducing their inbred numbers.
But this is all a moot point. No doubt you'll tell me that Ron Paul will make tulips bloom from everyone's assholes and rainbows will drizzle happy, happy gold streamers from sea to shining sea.
Yours in Ron Paul,
J Lewd
Terrible: "Anyone want to take any bets that the guy with the teabags hanging from his glasses is on disability and doesn't pay any taxes?"
People on disability pay taxes just like everyone else.
Why don't you try thinking and researching before you flap your jaws?
J Lewd, once again you have demonstrated that you have the reading comprehension of a turnip.
THERE ARE TWO MOVEMENTS HERE: A REAL ONE AND A FAKE ONE.
PAYING TAXES THAT ARE THEN USED TO KILL BROWN PEOPLE SO THAT YOU CAN HAVE A COMFORTABLE LIFE IN AMERICA IS SINFUL. YOU ARE A SINNER. GO DROWN YOURSELF IN A BATHTUB.
I realize I am a talking to a turnip here, and maybe we can't actually squeeze any blood out of this one, but with any luck we can squeeze the shit out and he'll stop talking. God willing.
Hail Satan.
I'm so sick and tired of the stupidity in this left/right polarized society it makes me want to puke!
I read with utter shame how the so called left is mocking the tea parties with their namecalling and inuendos.
The 16th Amendment was unconstitutional to begin with as it went against the true grain of the Bill of Rights. The skeleton Congress voted it into law on Christmas Eve. What a sham!
When you "divided and conquered" idiots that are living in your senseless paradigm wake the f*ck up and grow a brain then maybe you'll realize that you are taking it up the @ss by Obama as we all did with Bush. Same thing run by the same crooks at the Federal Reserve.
If you don't realize by now that Obama is just more of the same, you are a pathetic lot!
Look, I can respect all this anti-tax talk- taxes are a reality, but should be money well spent. However, this 16th Amendment stuff is getting way out of hand.
First of all, there isn't a "true grain" of the Bill of Rights. It consists of the first 10 Amendments that were intended to be part of the original Constitution, but are varied in their reach. Article 1, Section 8 already gives Congress the power to lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, etc........all the 16th Amendment does is specify WHERE those taxes will be collected from as the industrial revolution brought the age of the "payroll" and paychecks. Prior to that, it was very difficult to quantify how much tax an individual owed; it was mostly under the table. The 16th did not "create" the authority for Congress to collect taxes- it already had that authority.
I'm calling these "teabaggers" names because they are disingenuous. Where were they during the age of Bush? They are only out there to express their hate of this President, for no other good reason than they are sore losers, don't have a lily white man in office, and need some legitimacy for their racial hatred. So they are using taxes as their tool. For that, I'll call them every goddamned name in the book.
All fair and fine responses but people seem intent on blaming Bush, granted Bush has much blame, he started Warrantless Wiretapping, Obama's DOJ is expanding its power with legal arguments that assert sovereign immunity, meaning that if they don't say that it happened that it didn't happen. But the people on this site rightly criticized Bush supporters because Bush supporters at the time were trying to cover up PRESENT abuses with past abuses as a precedent, as if its alright because it was done by the other guys before, so lets please concentrate on the present. Obama is in power and has already greatly expanded executive authority, a corrupt Dem congress is in power, the same corrupt Republicans that got us into this mess think they are going to ride on popular disgust with Washington but I don't think that can happen in the end because out of the population of people required for that to happen again there is a small subset of stubborn sons of bitches. There has to be a purge.
As for this:
"Hoover's failed experiment in thrift"
Hoover did foolishly intervene into the economy, though he didn't do FDRs policies that extended the life of the Great Depression just like Obama is doing now. He is spreading the hurt to all, instead of a quick depression and then recovery, we will have a long depression, as long as they want to continue this failed experiment of pumping endless amounts of money into the banks that got us into this mess with they're questionable practices, some of which the government "dictated". Currently we're not regulating shit, we're just handing them cash at the behest of the same people they have bought. Hundreds of millions for campaigns yield multi-billions nowadays. Of course the main media outlets, an oligarchy of a handful of Corporations, a gift from Clinton, all get in on it, they get the millions in advertisements and they buy off congress as well, in return they give the most superficial dialogue to the public to keep Democracy safe and stable, regardless of if it is regressive or not to human progression. When that Superficial Dialogue gets older it becomes history. Hoover did nothing? Even the establishment goons admit that isn't true, Krugman on the other hand is a crackhead. Go back and see his opinion on the bailout, he basically mouthed Obama's and Hoovers platform, the guy is a political stooge.
Macaca Sucaca what will your screen name be tomorrow . . . .
~
Q: How can you tell a Ron Paul supporter?
A: Don't worry. They'll let you know.
lol
Fine example of their ilk, this GOPer (see photo) can't even spell DISSENT!!!
http://firedoglake.com/2009/04/15/late-nite-republicans-cry-look-upon-our-jerks-and-despair/
Dictionary Defintion of Dissent;
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/dissent
The two party oligarchy and the mainstream media are promoting psychological and intellectual cannibalism for their followers. DO NOT ENGAGE IN THIS ACTIVITY.
Shanks and blow-darts made of stereotypes and pre-packaged positions dipped in hate and spite are being handed out while gang psychology is being promoted. You a blood or crip? Republican or democrat? When the words mean almost nothing today.
The mindless masses are stuck in a series of generated victories and defeats, conquering both the memory and logic; all within the confines of the police barriers, free speech zones and the left-right prison cell for your mind. There is more than left and right. There is up and down.
Insults and name calling with no substance are tools for desperate and shallow cowards. Substance is the sword of the righteous. Good intentions can never be wrong, only be misplaced. So why waste your time and energy knocking someone down when you could use that outstretched hand to help guide them in the right direction? No man is all knowing and we can all be wrong. We are all human and all in this together.
Seek truth and think for yourselves.
Don't hate. Inform and congratulate.
Wow, macaca and abraham...you two mouth-breathing, knuckle-draggers really need to crawl back into your holes....ooops, you're probably just the same person using 2 different screen names as most republkkkans do...
Slash taxes for everyone. The tax increases aer going to hit the small business owners, that will then hit the middle class.
Don't laugh at these too hard. Never underestimate your opponent. Instead of denegrating and ridiculing them, just show others what they are saying is wrong with facts.
These are just the far-right wingers that will support the Republican Party no matter what. But all they ahave to do is convince a few people they are right and it just snowballs from there.
Boy, they sure showed us.To bad they lossed their jobs and were looking for pop cans and happened upon this FUX NEWS tripe.
#110. Right fucking on! You nailed it beautifully.
While the rest of the savages here beat their chests and mark their territory with their bodily excretions, you set off an atom bomb of beautiful prose.
Hey Independent, I agree: these wingnuts cannot handle defeat. This ridiculous and corporate-sponsored and media-created "protest" yesterday was just another rightwing hissy fit. They can't stand that they lost, and they won't quit throwing tantrums 'til they get their way. The only danger they pose is that the corporate-owned mainstream media is on their side.
Is Obama more of the same? Probably to a large extent. As long as we embrace capitalism, that's part of the deal. You want your convenient lifestyle, well, that's the fallout. The only way to change that is revolution. Of course Obama can only do so much.
The bottom line is that the wingnuts are rotten losers. Did you see any of this babyish, silly behavior out of the Dems when the shrub stole its second election? Or even the 1st? Nope.
They are disgusting, ignorant babies. And like Independent, I feel pretty damn justified in ridiculing these "teabaggers" to the nth degree. They bring it on themselves.
This presidential election was a populist one and one in which the American people collectively gave the shrub and its attempted fascist coup the finger. So to now call Obama "fascist" goes way beyond ridiculous.
abraham: And of course, educated turnips like you can distinguish between the two. Which protest is the clown with the teabags hanging from his glasses supporting?
Pay your taxes, you fucking sandbagger. In the meantime, STFU about what real Americans say and do. Until you carry your own likely prodigious weight in this democracy, you have little right to criticize (not that the arrogant, ignorant sputterings you utter are anything like criticism -- merely the barkings of a stray dog).
Macaca: Your comment at 107 is agreeable. I'm not so blind as to believe the two-party system we have in place is anything more than one party in two different suits. This all started badly with the concept of landed gentry and a replication of the British system of Commons and Lords. By following this system, we have inherently established an elitist heirarchy -- one where people like Nancy Pelosi and Eric Cantor, true scumbags both regardless of their party affiliations or electorate, have become permanent professionals in their (s)elected offices. Elected office was never intended to be a lifelong career (in much the same way a standing military was never intended): it degenerated to this form of "representation," however, and now we are stuck with it.
Stuck with it, that is, until we the people decide to change it.
I'm all for a reboot. Let's start by booting clowns like Pelosi, Reid, Boner, McConnell, Cantor. . . .
abraham: Don't get crossed up and forget which screen name you're using to comment and which you're using to pat yourself on the back.
There was a Tea Party? Where?
Damn. DIdn't get the invite and I l-o-v-e tea.
I need to pay my rent this month. Is there anyone here that could use a good handjob? Best handjob in America for the price.
PM me.
121: Real fucking witty, abraham. Solicit your own handjobs, whackjob. Or better yet: just go to your retardlican teabagging parties.
