A few of our readers emailed me this video that has been making the rounds on the internets this past week of a Baptist minister who says he was beaten and tasered by US Border patrol guards while on a recent business trip:
"I told them I was a US citizen. I told them I was on a business trip. I told them I had no drugs or humans in the car. That wasn't enough. They wanted to search the car, and I invoked my 4th amendment rights. I DID NOT RESIST OR FIGHT BACK. YET I WAS TAZERED REPEATEDLY AND SHOVED IN BROKEN GLASS REPEATEDLY!"

Wow, sounds horrible. I'm not able to give you the border patrol's version of the incident, as there doesn't seem to be a police report anywhere. But, I do have another video of the Baptist minister, it seems he also thinks President Obama, and First Lady Michelle are evil and turning us into a nation of slaves. That is, when they're not out murdering newborn babies :

Welcome to what the rest of us have had to suffer with for years. He is lucky he is white. If he had been Black or Hispanic he might be dead, shot trying to escape.
Did he ever shout to defend them when the same thing happened under Bush. Nope, bet it was "build the fence," "strengthen the homeland", "border security". Well, you got your border security now. Happy?
"My 4th amendment rights!" what a joke. I thought that was a right we gave up to protect the homeland. Remember, "if you got nothing to hide just let them search you." What a maroon!
This man preaches a lot of hate and I don't agree with most of what he says. However what happened to him at the hands of the US Border Patrol and other law enforcement agencies is completely unacceptable. This is what happens when you set up a virtual police state. This is what happens when you pass PATRIOT Acts and get everyone all up in arms about the "dangerous" job-stealing illegal immigrants. The power we have given to law enforcement and border patrol agencies in the USA is unprecedented and dangerous. It's time to roll back police power and get back to basic human and civil rights.
What do you expect to happen when you have a country that tortures prisoners. Let's look at the cold, hard truth. We are a country that locks people up for years without even charging them and tortures them repeatedly. We are a country that puts our own citizens into "Supermax" prisons where the inmates slowly go insane due to sensory deprivation. We treat our own citizens like garbage. We treat captured foreigners worse than we treat animals. We should be ashamed of ourselves. We used to be a great, compassionate and fair country. Now we are a bunch of jack-booted thugs.
Do not turn this into a Democrat versus Republican debate.
Everybody can see this is wrong.
If you attempt to turn this into Party A versus Party B, you're just pretending that there is any difference between Party A & B.
Think. Are we out of Iraq? Did George W. Bush end abortion? Did Bush ban gay marriage? Didn't you know that Obama voted for the Patriot Act renewal? Do you know that Obama only voted against 1 funding bill for Iraq, and only when he was currently running in the primaries? Did you know that Obama voted for the first bailouts of Hank Paulson and McCain did as well?
Stop pretending that the rhetoric of the 2 parties are real. They're just lying to you to get you to elect them but the 2 parties do the same thing.
We're not leaving Iraq. We're not leaving Afghanistan, and the although Bush increased the size of the Federal government by 30%, Obama will increase it more, not that it matters who you voted for - McCain was identical in any important way.
The only real difference is their lies they tell to get idiots to elect them. Quit being an idiot.
