Can you believe our taxes pay for the CIA yet most of what they do is kept secret until 20 or more years later? Then when it does become public the media hardly touches it! I read on "Hot Air" that this is all nonsense. Let me explain somethings:

- The Director of CIA was (Since the 1940's) the 'Director of Central Intelligence" which directed all intelligence agencies to include the DoD intel compartments on how to do their job and handle the information they got. It was later changed to "Director of National Intelligence" (Early 200's) which is now headed by former PACOM commander Dennis Blair. This was because the failure's of information sharing that resulted in 9/11. This new position was a recommendation from the 9/11 commission. Even then, the Director of CIA continues to butt heads with Dennis on how to run the intel community. Example is when Dennis's office tries to implement something community wide, the CIA sends out their own memo's saying otherwise which is like when a company excutive tell its empyoee's "We're going to do things this way" and someone else in the company who is in lower position, but acts in autonomy, says "Ignore that memo, we're going to do things our own way".

Now that might not be enough to convince anyone that the CIA staged a coup, but I hope it would help everyone to find an undestanding where Dr. Paul is coming from on this which I find it to be very accurate (but vaguely stated) of the last 30 years of CIA behaviour.
