sarahpalinbookgoingrogue Colbert: Palin book a steaming pile of sh*tThe facts aren't on Sarah Palin's side, Comedy Central's Stephen Colbert declared Thursday night, before passing verdict on Palin's new book, Going Rogue: It's a "steaming pile of shit."

"While I was hollowing her book out to hide my waffles, I had a chance to read almost the entire cover," Colbert told his audience. "And I was struck by the subtitle: 'An American Life.' And that is so fitting, because in her 413-page autobiography, just like America, nothing is ever Sarah Palin's fault.

"The shopping sprees, that was all the idea of some bad people on McCain's staff," Colbert continued, while the words on screen read "The devil made her wear Prada."

"And the Katie Couric interview?" Colbert asked. "Katie's entirely to blame." ("For turning on the camera," the screen read.)

"And it's certainly not her fault that much of the book isn't 'accurate,'" Colbert said, making quotation marks with his fingers. "That's the fault of the Associated Press. As Palin explained on her Facebook page, 'The AP somehow nabbed a copy of the book before it was released. We've heard 11 writers are engaged in this opposition research, er, 'fact checking' research!'

"Where Palin's concerned, fact-checking and opposition research are the same thing. Because she knows the facts are out to get her. And the fact that this book is a steaming pile of shit? Also not her fault," Colbert said to laughter and applause.

This video is from Comedy Central's The Colbert Report, broadcast Nov. 18, 2009.

Yeah, obviously it's a steaming pile of shit. My question is, why does the media choose to make a steaming pile of shit the 'news' every day? It's because the newsmakers are propagandists with an agenda with no interest in the news, just their agenda. This is news because propagandists want it to be news, they want to harrass Americans with their shitty propaganda and they want America to remain divided as ever and Americans gleefuly lick this shit up every chance they get and gush over the people who spoon feed them shit like Colbert as if they were a genius for calling shit a pile of shit. You could give most Americans a glass full of diareah to gargle with in the morning and tell them it was scope and they'd not know the difference unless Colbert or Stewart or some other douche was there to tell them the difference.

I have been wondering that for quite some time. You are correct. Then I wonder....what is being ignored?
  • I don't have one
Agreed. Liberal media my ass right
  • Colbert isn't so much describing the book as he is describing Sarah Palin herself. Or more specifically, Sarah Palin's brain.

    Peace

At least if official self-described comedians were running things, we could get a few chuckles on our way down the drain....On the other hand, there was nothing funny about Dubya, who seemed to think he himself was quite a card (just ask Pootie-poot and Turd Blossom).

Guys? Colbert and Stewart are comedians, not newscasters.
  • Phil E. Drifter
You're a moron, mcquaid. As if labeling them 'comedians' instead of 'newscasters' invalidates anything they've said.

As if 'comedian' and 'newscaster' are somehow exclusive.

Check thier back grounds and you will be surprised. They are quite educated more so than most politicians.
  • MrPunch
But they are also known as more a more balanced news source than mainstream news.

Just because it appears on the comedy channels does not mean they serve any less of a political role....

They have a much better rapport with their audience than mainstream news and therefore could arguably make more influential, especially to the younger demograph..
  • gr0o
...and yet they still have more journalistic integrity in either of their little fingers than Glenn Beck plus Bill O'Reilly have in their entire bodies.

Hey! We should Nominate Cobert for President and Stewart for Vice president (or the other way around) America will be great again
  • damixaustex
I am going to buy the book when it gets to $1.99

    next week, I reckon.

Don't worry, you won't have to break the bank that much. Palin's book will soon be selling at the 99 cent store, at 4 for 99 cents.
  • Phil E. Drifter
I wouldn't read it if someone paid me, for fear it would make me stupider just being in its presence.
  • Disenfranchised
Oh look, another Palin headline on the Rawstory home page!! I'm shocked!!
  • Phil E. Drifter
Oh look! another pointless comment by someone complaining about *gasp* an independent news site reporting *gasp* news that you don't care for, BUT you feel the need to leave your stupid little comment to let everyone know you ignored all the other headlines on this page so you could spew your hate at Palin!
  • jamzz94549
yes...spew & palin go good together....

News networks work hard to keep us divided. FOX especially. They find inflammatory partisans to fan flames of hate and mistrust to keep americans from uniting against the government.

What most on the right and left do not realize is that government does not work for them! Period!
If it's a right winger in control, they will work against the interests of those who voted them into power. Same with the left. People need to wake up and see this. And put aside the stupid wedge issues that are left unsolved in order to keep us divided.

While I was happy to see Obama win, because he seemed to say all the right things, it's obvious he is merely mirroring Bush era policies against the will of the people. What this means to me is that we are not in control of the government and they will lie and say anything to get your vote then go to work making you broke, less free, and bitter against your neighbor.

two parties = illusion of democracy

    GOP = aggressors
    Dems = apologists

    Vote 3rd party.

    and arm yourselves.
