pot plant bluebackground California mom: Marijuana saved my autistic son from wasting awayWill marijuana one day be considered a legitimate alternative treatment for children with autism? If the tale of 10-year-old Joey Hester-Perez is true, the possibility certainly exists.

In an interview broadcast by CBS on Monday, Joey's mother Mieko said that medical marijuana essentially saved her son's life, helping to reignite his appetite after he'd lost interest in food and began "wasting away."

When Joey had deteriorated to just 46 pounds, Mieko decided that something had to be done. "You could see the bones in his chest," she told ABC. "He was going to die."

"At first I did some research, and I found a doctor who actually had a protocol for medical marijuana in children diagnosed with autism," Mieko said.

All it took was one batch of marijuana-laced brownies to bring his hunger back. But it wasn't just the boy's appetite that changed, it was his overall demeanor as well.

"My son had self-injurious behaviors," she told He was extremely aggressive, he would run out of our house," she said. "He was a danger to himself and others."

After eating the brownies his aggressive temperament subsided, she said.

There is no evidence that marijuana cures autism, CBS noted. "The American Academy of Pediatrics opposes legalization of marijuana, but supports more research," correspondent Hattie Kauffman added.

At Exodus 30:22-25, God gives the recipe to Moses for holy anointing oil. One of the key ingredients of this oil is cannabis hemp. The Hebrew word Keneh-bosem is mistranslated as sweet calamus, aromatic cane or sweet cane. The story goes that King James intentionally mistranslated Keneh-bosem into Calamus after his wife was caught in an affair. Canaan was named for Cannabis. Evidently, the bible translators are trying to hide the fact that this is marijuana. Cannabis Hemp is one of the many blessings that God gave to man as stated at Genesis 1:11 and Genesis 1:29, and we are commanded to appreciate and to use all of God's creations as long as it is received with thanks, as stated at 1 Timothy 4:4.

That's nice. But Repub Christians only read the passages that will inflict harm on our country.

They don't call it "Love Grass" for nothing. If alcohol were declared illegal and pot declared legal, I would love to sit back with my bowl and watch the world start leaning towards peace a little more each day. I have NEVER known anyone to get violent after ingesting/smoking pot and nothing else. The totally opposite reaction of introspection and calm is more to the fact of the matter. Being a war-mongering, testosterone-talking country, though, I can see why Marijuana would be considered "The Enemy". It is a definite enemy of the war machine and a lust for money over everything else.

Most things good for humanity are seen as the "enemy" by the ruling elite. They don't want a better world, they want to own/control it. The two are mutually exclusive.

THC should be considered as essential as vitamins and minerals. Recommended Daily Allowance of Vitamin C, Vitamin B12, ZInc, and THC. Our religious fundamentalists consider it "NOT OF GOD."

I consider religious fundamentalists "NOT OF GOD".

since god doesn't exist but they believe it anyway, I consider them "not of sanity".

It's not a war on (some) drugs, it's a war on minorities to replace outlawed slave labor with prison labor. Read tinyurl.com/1mn :
Well, there it was, you didn't have to look another foot as you went from state to state right on the floor of the state legislature. And so what was the genesis for the early state marijuana laws in the Rocky Mountain and southwestern areas of this country? It wasn't hostility to the drug, it was hostility to the newly arrived Mexican community that used it.

Don't forget blacks. Hearst was all about filling his newspapers with stories about Our Precious White Women being targeted by marijuana-fueled, jazz-music-playing black men!

There's no evidence. There's also no studies. Do you think the lady was lying? Why would she do that? Anecdotal evidence is better than nothing.

There's plenty of evidence, which is why Uncle Sam marked it as a Schedule I drug, so they could refuse to accept all these volumes of evidence that cannabis, up until it was outlawed, was one of the most prescribed medicines by doctors. The federal government just says 'hey it's not medicine and we refuse to accept any evidence that says otherwise. Now here, take these synthetic medicines developed by Big Pharma that have only existed for 16 months instead of this plant which has grown alongside humanity for countless millennia.'
  • Look into the prohibition of marijuana a bit more and you'll find mormons at the heart of it.
