1) The American military has done more for humanity than any other force.
2) John McCain has a son serving in the military
3) Sarah Palin has a son serving in the military
4) Jimmy Carter sent his children to public schools (BO says not for his kids…elitist)

And rahm emanuel is better than Dick Cheney? How did we all feel on 9/11? Who knew what would happen next.
As for BO, at least GW had respect for freedom of speach and said so on many occasions when asked about the news media viscerating him (especially msnbc…).

And now you tell people to shut up? I guess that falls in line with Mao…are you going to start to kill the rest of us because you don't like our view point? So the people advocating tolerance are the least tolerant of all…

Can we all at least have a decent conversation without getting so divisive? BO advocated that. Let's be open minded. Present the arguments that the Cheney family is horrible, that would really help your argument and may convince others.

My goodness, you both have terrible grammar.
Honestly, you have to logically admit this, did Obama deserve the Nobel Peace Prize? No. Not yet, anyways, who knows, he could bring a peaceful end to war eventually. If he does something to deserve it, sure, give it to him. But what the hell has he done?
Ragging on John McCain, who HAS served our country and suffered for it- maybe not for peace for for the sake of American ideals- is not the way to get out your obvious disdain for the Republican Party and/or the Bush administration. You just come across as spiteful. I think too many people placed all of the world's problems on Bush, who didn't make the best decisions all the time but wasn't "El Diablo," my goodness.
I was never for the war in the first place, but now that we're in we can't just pull out. The people in the Middle East still need aid stabilizing government, and Iran has just proven that they have nuclear weapon capability. Or do you think they're just going to have a big fireworks show?
Liz McCain should probably have stopped after her first sentence. Who I think should have won the Nobel Peace Prize is someone working towards peace nonviolently, who is an example to everyone that you can't fight fire with fire and expect no innocent lives to be taken. Not someone who has only made promises he has yet to keep.

True, the prize was “diminished” the year Kissinger won it.

But I wouldn't call it a “farce”. Flawed, yes, but an Ideal that sometimes inspires:

1989 – The 14th Dalai Lama

1993 – Nelson Mandela
1997 – International Campaign to Ban Landmines, Jody Williams
2001 – United Nations, Kofi Annan
2003 – Shirin Ebadi
2006 – Muhammad Yunus, Grameen Bank
2007 – Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, Al Gore

In a world of NBA Championships and Baseball World Series, it is good to shine the spotlight on some of these good people and organizations once a year.
