alangrayson Grayson: Fox News is the enemy of AmericaSince the Obama administration began accusing Fox News of being "a wing of the Republican Party," the war of words has intensified.

The latest counterattack from Fox's defenders is the claim that the White House is putting Fox on a Nixon-like enemies list, a list which Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN) describes as also including the insurance companies and the US Chamber of Commerce.

Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL), however, believes that an enemies list is exactly where Fox belongs.

"Fox News and their Republican collaborators are the enemy of America," Grayson told MSNBC's Ed Schultz on Wednesday. "They're the enemy of anybody who cares about health care in this country, the enemy of anybody who cares about educating their children, the enemy of anybody who wants energy independence or anything good for this country. And certainly the enemy of peace, there's no doubt about that. They are the enemy."

Grayson thinks that the White House is doing exactly the right thing in going after Fox, because "what you do with a bully is you confront the bully and the bully backs down."

Story continues below...

"That's a good description of Fox News," Grayson explained. "People come on the air, they insult them as they did me. ... Why would anybody think that Fox News is some sort of valid news organization?"

Grayson did not go any easier on the Republican Party than on Fox. "The Republicans operate simply by vilifying their enemies and nothing else," he told Schultz. "All they do is try to distract people from issues of health care, issues of jobs, issues of energy independence. They've got nothing. ... The Party of No is well on its way to becoming the party of nobody."

Liberal sites like Daily Kos have been predictably enthusiastic about Grayson's remarks, while conservative bloggers have just as predictably attacked him as "off his meds." In a post mockingly titled, "Alan Grayson: Fox News, GOP are the enemies of America, peace, puppies," Allahpundit described Grayson as a "grandstanding idiot" who's "relishing his role as the left's new golden boy / attack dog."

Finally, a Democrat with some spine.

Fox News is owned by an Australian who would love to monopolize US news outlets.

Why would anyone expect them NOT to be the enemy of all of us???

They are just working in their own interest. Which is not the same as ours.

yes tell me about it thank god

Good for Grayson. I applaud him. He has a lot of guts and intelligence. Finally a democrat with the balls to stand up and say what's so about these criminals. FOX constantly lies to the uninformed Americans that watch their propaganda pretending to be news and brainwashes their audience into believing lies that allow the corporations (i.e. Rupert Murdoch) to manipulate them into actually protesting against their own interest. WE NEED MORE LIKE GRAYSON. I CHALLENGE ALL CONGRESS AND SENATORS WHO THINK THEY GOVERN FOR THE PEOPLE TO START OPENING THEIR MOUTHS AND CALLING A SPADE A SPADE. PERIOD.

In a world so saturated with bullshit, hearing someone call out Fox and the GOP in one bat for being nothing but negativity, hatred and propaganda... is encouraging...

but for it to be a DEM politician showing some spine... holy shit... somebody pinch me...

Of course, predictably... all the wingnut monkeys in the zoo are going to try to throw feces at him, but to me their shallow, transparent smear efforts rarely ever hold weight, they've been discredited so many times that I can only think of "GOPFox" and it's supporters as a noisy nuisance that will say anything and everything about those who challenge their lock-step, moronic perception of the world.

I can only hope he's correct in saying "The party of no is becoming the party of nobody".

If Grayson all of a sudden stops this great stuff that he is doing and goes into "limp" mode, we know that his life or his family's lives have been threatened.Until then, donate, donate and donate to his campaign.

    Enemies of America:

    The GOP (Republican Party)
    Fox Television (Rupert Murdoch)
    Wall Street (Finance Institutions)
    Health Care Industry (Insurance Companies)

It's short but very powerful list. Americans, are we going to let them defeat us?

All are unAmerican anti-Patriots. What would George Washington have done?

You forgot that other Domestic Enemy of the Constitution: the FBI

Does anyone really think the Obama administration needs a list to keep track of those who are trying to subvert the Democrat's agenda? It seems to me that Rep. Grayson has no fear because he did not go to Congress merely to be re-elected. He went, apparently, to represent the best interests of his constituents and to promote the common good. What the fuck was he thinking?

FOX is not an enemy of America - It the enemy of most Americans.

They will malign you endlessly, Grayson, for speaking truth to power.

FOX News is the enemy of the majority of US Citizens because it pushes a viewpoint and actively tries to shape news in a way that it harms the majority's economic, health and emotional well being.

Whether the US Government wants to be representative of the populace or subject to the Tyranny of the Few is what is at stake here. The few have every right to make their voice heard, but the many have every right to discredit the tyranny of the few when it is not in their best interests.

The Republicans are going to suffer HUGE losses in the next elections. It is time to return government to helping the people and the Republicans have miscalculated how much the people are suffering and how the invisible hand has done nothing to help them and are now looking to government solutions.

Don't bet on it guy. I was looking at the ratings an it seems that Fox is beating all the cable channels.....combined. Someone with this posting needs to get their facts right before typing them on the web.

Thats because its an endless train wreck of radical opinions and idiots. People tune in for the freak show. It's like the ONN but the people reporting and some watching actually believe the crap they spew. I honestly tune in for the lulz.

    want to watch--Sunday; Oct. 25th / 8 P.M. Fox News documentary !!!

This Sunday Fox news, is going to air a very important documentary about Barack Obama, Sunday night at 9 PM Eastern. The report will go back to Obama's earlier days, showing even then his close ties to radical Marxist professors, friends, spiritual advisers, etc. It will also reveal detail his ties to Rev. Wright for 20+ yrs. How he was participating with this man, and not for the reasons he states! The report has uncovered more of Obama's radical past and we will see things that no one in the media is willing to put out there. It will be a segment to remember. Mark your calendar and pass this on to everyone you know: Sunday night, 8 PM. CT ; 9 PM ET. Democrat or Republican, this report will open your eyes to how YOUR country is being sold down the road to Totalitarian Socialism. If you care about the direction of our country, pass this notice on to everyone you know.

Salad tosser: And of course you believe the good people at Nielsen who are, of course, a non-profit agency who reports viewership purely for the good of the industry.

What's that? Nielsen is a publicly traded, for-profit business entity?

From Wikipedia: "In 2006, VNU [now Nielsen Company] was acquired by a group of six private equity firms which included Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., Thomas H. Lee Partners, Blackstone Group, Carlyle Group, Hellman & Friedman and AlpInvest Partners. . . ." Note the name "Carlyle Group" in this list -- it explains a lot of what's happening as politics and media grow as intertwined as Tass and the former CCCP were. In case you miss the allusion, it explains a lot about Fox News agenda journalism.

Fox Noise = Fear Mongering = Republican PR
There is no NEWS in that equation.

    KUCINICH/GRAYSON 2012!!!

We must not also forget Rush "Pill-baugh" either, who always shows his true ONE color (not colors) spewing his potty mouth full of smears and hate. While they cleverly hide behind the flag and religion, they clearly reveal their despise and insults for all that they don't agree with. Not only are they an enemy of America, but the world.
