Obama attacks ‘outrageous myths’ in health insurance reform debate

I support Obama and health care reform. However, Obama knows he’s being technically dishonest when he says:
“Let’s start with the false claim that illegal immigrants will get health insurance under reform. That’s not true.”
Obama has already said that he wants health care reform this year, then NEXT year he’s planning to ease the path for illegals (and legals) to become citizens. So Illegal immigrants - and legal immigrants - would ALL get health insurance as soon as next year, once they become citizens. The cost for insuring many millions of foreigners who can’t even find jobs to support themselves and their extended families will be astronomical.
So the truth is that Obama wants American citizens to get health care this year and illegals will get it next year when they are no longer illegal.

If Obama was half the president he thinks he is, he would have his Dems in line to pass the required legislation to get true health care reform. This guy is one piece of shit as a leader. Someone with a set of balls has to get in there and shake things up. Since there are more Dems for the legislation than against it, it’s time to get those people on the backs of nay sayers, to let them know NONE of their bills will even make committee unless they get their shit together. So far, Obama and his crew are nothing but a bunch of weak knee spineless ineffective pansies!
Yes. Unless this man “sees the light”, hears the will of the people, and acts accordingly, it’s buh-bye in a couple of years.
Granted, we here and on other websites of a Progressive-leaning nature are awake to the insanity of the system and those who run it, but we seem to be at a loss of what ACTION to take. Well, I have a partial solution: Begin NOW to form a movement behind Dennis Kucinich for the next pre-election marathon. The corporations, media, and right wing loud mouths made a fool of him and We The People have the power to reverse it STARTING NOW! For he truly is OUR VOICE.
This man takes NO CORPORATE donations, co-authored H.R. 676 for Single-Payer, is TOTALLY anti-war, wants to cancel tax loopholes for the wealthy, return jobs back home, supports FAIR Trade and tax equity, is an ambassador instead of warrior, and on and on.
Maybe you think I’m pressing for this too soon but it can NEVER be soon enough if it will lead to all the undoing of the last nine years. Obviously us just beating a keyboard to death with our rage, disappointment, and frustrations will do nothing to change a corporate-owned country. We witness our invisibility every day.
Having said all of the above, it truly bothers me that, with all the internet availability, We The People can’t organize for ACTIONABLE CHANGE! Can you imagine if ALL Environmental groups formed ONE LARGE GROUP?! POWER, BABY! Or all tax-protesters, anti-war groups, anti-outsourcing groups, unions, etc. etc. left their individual “ego-groups” behind to merge as ONE! Again…POWER, BABY!
Let’s figure out how to make this happen TOGETHER. Let’s use this glorious communication source for good and not a bitching platform. Well, I won’t hold my breath for replies, but I hope one or two of you see the wisdom in my proposal.

About death panels…those kind of decisions are made every day. 95 year old granny is not going to get a heart transplant. And if someone is leaking blood non-stop, sooner or later its time to stop putting it in. The really badly messed up babies are kinda put in the corner and not watched so closely. Where old folks are getting jacked around are in some of those zoos they call nursing homes. Sign over the estate and get a cinder block cell with a room mate, minimum wage caretakers and some slop that would cause a riot in a real prison. That is where the will to live ends.
I went to my Rep. town hall (Rep. Tiahrt-Kansas Republican) and he claimed the plan would cover illegal immigrants. We challenged him to read where it made such a claim. He read the passage and it made no reference to non-citizens. What Tiahrt claimed was a non-discrimination clause (you know, the Civil Rights Act) means illegals will be covered.
Then again, Tiahrt is one of the biggest morons in Congress.
There are no eligibility or verification requirements in the bill . Any illegal alien will merely need to claim they are citizems to get free care.
When you hear criticism that the Health Care Bill will allow illegals to get health care, the criticism is the truth. The lie is coming from supporters of the Health Care Bill that point to this fraudulent amendment that merely pretends to oppose rewards for illegal immigration.
here is the real story.
Rep. Nathan Deal (R-Ga.) offered the DEAL amendment that would have explicitly prohibited illegal aliens from receiving health care benefits under the health care reform bill (H.R. 3200) and smartly backed it up with eligibility and verification requirements. The amendment was narrowly defeated July 30,2009 28-to-29 after two Democrats on the committee voted against the amendment.
Under the current health care bill, states will be required to automatically enroll non-traditional Medicaid individuals to the proposed government-run option, but the bill does not provide any language that would require the states to verify citizenship or eligibility status before the enrollment. The Bill is useless to keep illegals getting healthcare as it has a bark but absolutely no bite! Rep. Deal’s amendment would have required states to verify an individual’s citizenship status before automatically enrolling them. Illegals need merely lie to break the law to get healthcare the same way they lie to get their jobs. Laws that trust but never verify are useless.
As Roy Beck wrote in Numbersusa,
“Many Congressmen were stung by the intense phone calls from their constituents after they voted on Thursday July 30, 2009 to kill the “Deal amendment” that would have required verification to keep illegal aliens from getting any new federal health care.
So, they came back and introduced another amendment that said illegal aliens couldn’t get the health care.
HOWEVER . . . .
. . . . the amendment provided for no verification. And actually reaffirmed other decisions of the last three years to include illegal aliens in various taxpayer-supported benefits.

Single payer—period.Just let us buy into medicare –costs: about 100 bucks for individual, about 200 bucks for a family a month. It stops this nonsense about the abortion issue.

If this administration/Dems didn’t want illegal aliens to be covered by a national health plan, then why did they remove the amendment that would require verification? As most of us know, a law is only as good as enforcement makes it. If there is no requirement for verification and no means to verify, the legislation as is written is worthless.
A great example is the 1986 illegal alien amnesty. As it was written there was to be enforcement at the work place and better security measures on the border. Lack of enforcement has gotten us to the point we are at now - 12-20 million illegal aliens.
