Lewis Black hits GOP for demonizing health care reform

Comedian Lewis Black reviewed Republicans’ arguments against health care reform Wednesday on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show. The comedian singled out Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell who was quoted as saying “I had a friend of mine in Florida who lost a friend in Canada because the government decided he was too old for a certain kind of procedure.”
Black didn’t buy McConnell’s story. “Your anti-health care anecdote is a friend of a friend? That’s not even enough proof for an urban legend. I have a friend of a friend who brought home a dog from Mexico then he shaves it. It turns out someone had stolen its kidney and replaced it with a polaroid picture of my tooth brush up Richard Gere’s ass. Go figure. If you can’t give me any evidence then at least do the honorable thing and confuse me,” joked Black.

Lewis Black rocks!
I love Lewis Black. His “Red, White and Screwed” comedy special is a national treasure.
Gee, Peggy Noonan can’t remember that back when we were kids (Black is right, it was MORE than 20 years ago), we didn’t HAVE health insurance. It wasn’t until everything became a money making proposition for already rich people that our health was auctioned off to the highest bidder. It was then that we became nothing but bottomless pockets for the rich crooks in our society. And here is another clue for you, Peggy: When you have to decide between a house payment and insurance form something that USED to be a reasonable cost, you tend to be a bit more obsessive about it.
Oh, BTW, that was back before REPUBLICANS took over everything. And as I recall, you were a speech writer for the SCUMBAG that did it to the country, REAGAN. YOU should be ashamed, you pig. It was YOU and your buddies that have done this to us, along with the crumbling infrastructure, the higher costs of everything and the loss of jobs and wages. I REALLY don’t think you have ANY business complaining about the rest of us wanting to be treated fairly and being “obsessive” about our very survival.
Non one knows rising costs of “health care” like Noonan. It seems obvious she’s spent the medical benefits budget of a small nation on her face work.
Let’s not leave Clinton out, and Obama’s not doing much better. As long as we keep voting Republican or Democrat our government is for sale to the highest bidder.

Nationally the Republicans are in a broad mimic of California when the Republicans tried a Reagan-like resurgence by putting Schwartzenneger up for Governer (a real mistake that they tried to correct by calling for “non-native eligibility” for President, which wouldn’t fly even within their core constituency). During that period of time, and since, California Republicans can’t find anyone to put on the ballot who isn’t in indictment, has already been indicted, or is about to be indicted. Consider Palin. That’s exactly where McCain went hideously wrong, and Republicans seem completely incapable of correcting that for the foreseeable future. Even Holden’s problems with Chiquita Banana pale in consideration (though stick somewhat), causing some questions for Obama, of course, but not enough to override actual indictments. White males may forgive, but not when their wallet has been lifted–which Bush incredibly managed several times. Obama is asking them to open their wallets, true, but he’s asking. Bush just took. So demographics may provide clues, but republographics slam the lid shut, unless Obama gets a diagnosis of active alzheimers while Tom Cruise runs for President as a Republican in 2012. Odds, anyone? Note: Republican or Democrat? What a hoot!
I laughed hard. Lewis did a very good job on that one. There is some mystery behind the scenes that Lewis is aware of.
