Rush: Jackson ‘flourished’ under Reagan, ‘died’ under Obama

Did Democratic presidents kill Michael Jackson? It appears that Rush Limbaugh may think so.
“I have an observation about this Jackson thing,” Limbaugh began on his radio show Wednesday. “Jackson’s success paralleled the rebound of the United States under [Reagan]. Jackson’s biggest successes took place the in 80s … He flourished under Reagan, he languished under Clinton [and] Bush, and he died under Obama.”
Then he added, cryptically: “Let’s hope this parallel does not continue.”
Arguing, presumably, with his producer off-screen, Limbaugh asked: “What about what I said is not true?”
And then, as if turning Jackson’s death into a partisan issue wasn’t enough, Limbaugh went after the race angle.
“Michael Jackson died during the era of the first black president,” he said. “How about if I say it that way?”

This is almost too stupid to comment on but I will say this. This is the problem with Rush. Rush is still trying to maintain the same ancient two-party duality that would assume that either party would have that much influence. There is only one party and thats the corporate inside the beltway party. Reminds me of Stalinism, McCarthyism, etc. Rush Limbaugh is over quite frankly. The age of the internet and cyberspace has zoomed on by without him and good riddance.

He was nobody under Reagan, made his name attacking Clinton, and 359 days ago he signed an 8 year extension to his contract for $400 million dollars and all he has to do is say kind of marginally mean things about Obama and he is uber-rich for lifer. Did you idiots think he does this because he’s just mean and nasty?
I don’t care either way, the idea that this man is relevant in any way is just a myth put forth by media outlets where dummies work, dummies that apparently love the idea of a wealthy Rush Limbaugh, because it’s these dummies that keep him relevant and not anyone else, not his listeners, but dummies with a printing press.

The salary makes sense. keeping the Limbaughs, Becks and Hannitys of the world front and center is money well spent. These sycophants push their corporate masters agenda full time!

Corporations own the media and they want a media that stays on message for corporate America. The few progressive or Liberal talk show hosts you can find are there only for the right to be able to scream the media is liberal! They are never allowed to be syndicated and are marginalized to the point of being irrelevant. In fact in some communities (especially in the south) reich wing hate radio like Limbaugh and Hannity or Christo-Fascist psycho babble is all you can get on the radio, period. The same thing applies to our soldiers they are forced to listen to Limbaugh with no Liberal/Progressive counter point of view.

The real story here is that with a veto proof Congress, the so-called opposition Democrats aren’t pushing to reinstall the Fairness Doctrine. That would spell the end for these Glush Beckbaugh types and their obscene salaries.
Maybe we should all write Senator Frankin, and ask him to sponsor such a bill?
The Fairness doctrine would be a good start, BUT it would not change the landscape all that much. It would only mean stations would have allow opposing views, but not necessarily equal time. So we might still have to listen to maybe 23hrs of reich wing hate radio followed by some watered down liberal opinion.
The real damage to our freedom of choice was the telecommunications act passed by B.Clinton in 1996. It removed the barriers that kept giant media corporations at bay. once the laws were changed large media giants bought up, devoured and completely monopolized the media, turning it into a gigantic propaganda tool to further their own interests.
Nearly everything you hear see or read is now owned by a few gigantic corporate monopolies……….the Mainstream Media. Is it any wonder the media is useless and pathetic and won’t ask any hard questions?

as time moves forward, people age. As their scandals become public they lose popularity. As the times change, so does the “pop”ular culture..
Jackson dwindled in popularity over the years because that’s what happens to MOST things popular.
He died because he was old and sick, what party is controlling the government at any given time doesn’t control that.
so, my observation is that Rush Limbaugh is pretty stupid (and by the transitive property, anyone that listens to him and adopts his ‘view’ is just as stupid, or worse).
