Beck: Tea Party movement not ‘just stupid people with pitchforks’
Glenn Beck thinks the “elitist” media is marginalizing the Tea Party movement because they think the participants are “just stupid people with pitchforks.”
Beck told Fox & Friends that the movement was just going to get “stronger and stronger.”
“I think the Tea Party movement is going to get bigger and bigger and stronger and stronger as time goes on,” he said. “I think this government — and people know it, left and right — [is] out of control, it is unsustainable.”
The Fox & Friends segment had been discussing actress Janeane Garofalo’s comment that the Tea Party movement “is about hating a black man,” and that Tea Party supporters were “a bunch of tea-bagging rednecks.”
Beck said that the media “marginalizes” the Tea Party people because “they have the attitude that Janeane Garofalo has — ‘oh, they don’t know history.’ They are elitists in every form of the word.”

The headline is accurate. They’re not “just stupid people with pitchforks.”
They’re “stupid, crazy people with pitchforks.” And Beck is the village idiot in the lead, carrying the big torch.
HAHAHAHAA! Thank you, I needed that.
Not ‘just stupid people with pitchforks’
… some have shovels.
And, lest we forget, some have rifles.
Beck is right, Tea Bag Party isn’t just stupid people with pitch forks, it’s just stupid people who don’t work and have nothing better to do with their free time.
not entirely true.. some work, but take vacation to participate in such fucktardery.. I know, one of my co-workers did.
For some reason, this “wage slave” thinks it’s good for companies to make all the rules. Can’t bring myself to put it in plain terms for him.. he’s a gun freak, too. Hot head + gun freak + moron who votes to be abused = not someone I’m going to try and “reason” with.
The Tea Party Movement was started by the RON PAUL REVOLUTION and is made up of normal people from all aspects of the politics who are just sick and tired of the criminals in washington over taxing us to pay for WAR, Fascism and Corporate welfare. Fox News and Glenn Beck have nothing to do with it. They pretend like they are a part of the Tea Party movement much like the left leaning news agencies pretend to be part of the anti war. Fox News now gets to play the role of ANTI GOVERNMENT while the republicans are out of power much like MSNBC was ANTI GOVERNMENT while Bush was in office. We need to stop falling for this divide and conquer left right infighting and come together and demand the criminals in Washington follow the constitution before it is too late.
so let me guess, you are one of those paulies? so you are okay with his stance on women’s rights? His view on social security? you are perfectly fine with his elimination of income tax?
I could go on and on, but as I have come to realized, paulies are just repukes that like to smoke pot. Beyond that, they usually don’t have a clue as to what that half-witted jackass paul also believes in.
have fun at your tea-bagging ball licking parties that you feel so strongly have been hi-jacked by the other right wing lunitics.
you are all part of the same bag of stupid, just some are on the bottom and some are on the top. Hence the term, tea-bagging. LOL
Then where were they when the Shrub was wreaking so much havoc?
Oh, right.. Paul “started it”, but the mega-corp interests grew it so it could be a clusterfuck of right-wing “dem bashing”.
There is no honesty in the Tea Bagger’s agenda.. they are simply anti-dem. However it started, it finished with big right-wing money pushing the cart.
It’s not JUST stupidity. Beck also needs to factor in the uncritical openness to bad ideas (including his own), the basic ignorance of the way the world works in the 21st century, the willingness to ignore facts when they get in the way of ideology, the authoritarian personality disorder, the fear of societal change, and the inability to make paradigm shifts.
Not all teabaggers have every one of these attributes. But even with one or two, they should not be trusted with a pitchfork.
Glen is absolutely right.
We shouldn’t think of teabaggers as stupid people with pitchforks because as everyone can plainly see they are in fact stupid people with teabags. Some may argue that it’s not an important distinction, but it’s just as easy to get these things right as to get them wrong.
Thanks, Beck for clearing that up for us.
Those aren’t pitchforks… they’re Tea-Squares!
sorry.
They’re all white.
Yeah, why can’t those stupid teabaggers be enlightened and see that the way to financial prosperity is running trillion dollar deficits and taxing the hell out of the economy? DC is full of corrupt politicians, the only enlightened thing to do is to throw more money at them.
You think your federal income taxes go to providing services for you/neighbour? It would be totally absurd to think that not a dime goes to anything other than paying interest to the Federal Reserve System.
Unfortunately that’s not the case. If the current $11.5 trillion federal debt did not increase it would cost $1,236,259,000,000 just to pay the interest every year. And more unfortunately, our congress continues to pass bills that increase the deficit while the president has no intention to veto anything.
But but, what about the roads, how will those be paid for without an income tax??!? Well those are paid with gasoline taxes. The corporate income tax ($380,925,000,000 collected last year) is more than enough to fund military spending.
So it’s not like these tea baggers are complaining about nothing. These are legitimate complaints that should be dealt with, not ignored by the likes of the few ignorant people who posted about.
Beck’s right, none that I’ve seen have carried a pitchfork. But their whole “movement” was nothing more than political theater. They sat on their collective butts for the last 8 years as we poured a trillion dollars down the sands of an immoral, dishonest war of choice as well as fed untold billions into expensive unnecessary programs in our military-industrial sector, while putting the whole era on a charge card, running up a larger debt than the 42 presidents who preceded them. And not a @#$ peep out of these “teabaggers”. Only when Obama came along and tried to change the priorities- in the process actually CUTTING income taxes for 99% of these morons- did they “decide” to start their tax “revolt”. These people are either liars, stupid as hell, or reality-denying, hypocritical political hacks and deserve any and all scorn they manage to bring upon themselves.
Actually, Beck is right that the teabaggers (haha) are more than just stupid people with pitchforks. They’re stupid people being paid by multimillionaire astroturfers and professionally organized to pretend to give people an outlet for their frustrations. If the movement grows (which I doubt, given that eight years of Bush has taken most of the stupid out of most Americans), the people at the top will play their usual bait-and-switch and go back to business as usual and corporate whoring, while passing new laws to spy on the hapless idiots who make up their “base,” and forcing protestors into confined areas miles from their swillfests.
Where did they find a black guy?
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
I can understand the frustration with our tax system. Most of the ‘Tea-Baggers’ favor the so-called ‘fairtax’ though, which is incredibly flawed and shift the tax burden much more to the middle class.
The fact that these ‘Tea-Baggers’ are too stupid to do any research beyond Neal Boortz’ books (which are soaked in pure economic snake oil) is what scares me about them. They totally discount Bush’s tax advisory panel’s findings on the’ fairtax’ (that it would raise taxes for everyone making between $15k -$200K a year), and refuse to acknowledge all the other flaws in the ‘fairtax’.
Its as though they believe in a fairy tale, and have a big temper tantrum when someone disagrees with them. They want to have their cake and to eat it too (generally speaking, these are the same people who don’t mind the US spending over a trillion on a war, yet they don’t want to have to pay for it).
Where was all their moral outrage when Bush was doubling the national debt?
If they are not stupid, they are very misguided.
When you look at them, you know they are not rich folks and yet the last time they protested tax increases that are for the rich. Duh. You also know that many do not have health care either. Duh again.
They are the base of the GOP which are too white, too southern, too malke, too religious, too racist, too homophobic, too anti health care, too anti environment, too ani women, too anti worker rights, too anit science etc.
Personally I hope they continue to be front and center for the GOP. We the people need to be reminded who these people are and what they stand for.
Actually, Becktard, they’re just a bunch of racist rednecks with their nuts dangling in each others’ mouths.
Teabag away, you mouthbreathing retards. Meanwhile, you’re trailer is being repossessed by the same assholes you vote for year after inbred, knuckledragging year. If any of you understood the definition of “irony” you’d see a load of it in your ignorant voting practices.
“your trailer” — English is my second language.
No, they’re ‘just stupid people with TEABAGS’ conned and staged by
REPUBLICAN HANDLERS in a pretend-rebellion. Such people DO WHAT THEY’RE TOLD. They do not “rebel”.
He’s right! It’s not just stupid people with pitchforks. There’s some retarded people, too.
“He’s right! It’s not just stupid people with pitchforks. There’s some retarded people, too.”
Quite correct. And let’s not omit those other teabaggers: the cretans, morons and the right-wing products of incest.
These “t-baggers” are not just stupid people with a pitch fork. They are stupid people who vote against their own interests time and time again based on following the principles of the racist republiKKKon party. Many of these “baggers” look like they have no health/dental insurance and no high school education and make less than $10,000 a year. These are the same people that President Obama is trying to cut their taxes but they won’t hear of it until the taxes are cut on the super wealthy. You remember them, the Ronnie Raygun people that believe in the “tinkle down theory” where if any urine is left it is poured over the masses so they feel like they got a little something out of the deal.
Never has so few stood up for the super rich while they are eating with plastic forks, not pitch forks. Better keep those tea bags out of your mouth. They’ll make you shrivel up and they won’t be able to find your “t-bag”.
BTW, have the Bush’s picked out a church to attend since they returned to TexASS? I know it was hard when they were in Washington but sorry, no excuse for not attending church EVERY Sunday since they moved back to the land of the “crackers”.
The Bushes were play-acting in WashDC and doing a “pretend church going” act.
Now back in TEXass they are free to thumb their noses at “church going” and resume their local Republi-KA-KA ways.
They’re oh-so-quaint.
xrepublican: Agree with you 100%. This “teabagging” movement is nothing more than: 1. an appropriation of the RonPaulamatons’ mixed-mush message (Is it about tax reform or is it about or smaller government?); and 2. a kneejerk, rednecked, racist-assed reaction to the rightful election of a black man to a White House.
These people deserve nothing less than the heaping ridicule they have earned in shovelsful through their uneducated, arrogant ignorance. The fact that they are Caucasian almost to a t(bag) is further proof of their supremacist agenda.
For a moment, I thought you were going to do a modern congressional spin on Churchill’s “Never was so much owed by so many to so few.”
Never have so few done so much to fuck so many.
This could also pertain to Fux News. Also the Repuglicans.
They’re against the “death tax”.
Actually, they’re against taxing their brains.
Wow. Knowledge of history is elitist? I guess I should start dressing better…
Knowledge of anything is elitist.
“FOUR LEGS GOOD, TWO LEGS BAD.”
No they’re not! Actually they are stupid, ignorant, brutal people with Barret .50 Cal MG sniper rifles and M16-1As. I’m headed to a tea bagging on the 4th, undercover. I hope I don’t get my balls chapped. I’ll write an article and let you know how it goes. I am a strong supporter of the 2nd ammendment. Especially after the Bushco coup attempt. Bush/ Cheney would have gone through this country like bacon through a goose without the 2nd. amendment. (Practising my colloquialisms).
Actually they did go through this country like bacon through a goose. Especially through our national wealth.
History points to a time when, “just stupid people with pitchforks”, chased the “mormon-beck” people with “tar and feathers.” So, let’s be “tarbaggers” and bring ourselves into the 21st Century.
What’s all this uproar over a bunch of teabuggers? And why do they bugger teabags anyway, huh, huh? Can’t they find a condom? And besides, teabags are notoriously porous. And another thing….
What?!?!?
Teabaggers?
Oh.
Never mind.
atilla
For your safety undercover don’t forget to put some chewin’ bakkie in your back pocket, hip flask in other, a chain for your wallet, shave your head, when you talk try to cover your teeth with your lips, traitor flag on your truck, carry made-up photos of a triple wide, photo of a young girl pretending to be your cousin and some loose ammo in your pocket to barter with.
Mix tea-baggers with ron-paulers you get re-tarded rednecks…
But you’d have a balanced budget with Dr. Ron Paul. Instead of the Chinese owning the country.
We don’t watch Glen Beck either. That’s for the morons with pitch forks.
“Beck: Tea Party movement not ‘just stupid people with pitchforks’”
No, they’re stupid people with semi-automatic weapons. Ask the Pittsburgh cop killer who cited you as a reason for his slaughter: you told him Obama was coming after his guns. You filthy rotten sonofabitch, I hope their survivors sue your punk ass into the poor house so you can learn something about life before you shooot your fucking mouth off.
The douchebaggers are the haves worried that the havenots might get a piece of the pie. And Glenn Beck is one of the biggest douchebags out there.
Nah, not stupid people with pitchforks, Glenny … but angry, white, ignorant racists who are livid we have an African-American president.
