Supreme Court quashes 9/11 lawsuit against Saudis

The Supreme Court has rejected a class-action lawsuit against Saudi Arabia brought by 9/11 survivors and relatives of those killed in the attacks.
The court’s decision Monday not to allow an appeal of the case to go forward effectively ends an effort by some 6,000 9/11 relatives and survivors to sue the government of Saudi Arabia and several members of the Saudi royal family over the country’s alleged behind-the-scenes role in the September 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
Citing the 9/11 Commission report and numerous other documents, the plaintiffs had argued that Saudi royals were among the largest contributors to charities that funneled money to Al Qaeda, AP reported Monday.
In its decision, the Supreme Court let stand a federal appeals court’s ruling that “sovereign immunity” — the notion that a country can’t be sued in another country’s courts — means that the lawsuit cannot go forward.
That was more or less the position of the Obama administration as well, which sided with the defendants and urged the courts to dismiss the lawsuit.
Lawyers for the 9/11 families argued in a brief submitted to the court this month that the White House’s desire to end the lawsuit was an “apparent effort to appease a sometime ally” that is important to the U.S.’s energy security.
Last week, the New York Times ran a story outlining the evidence the 9/11 families had put forward, evidence the paper said showed “extensive financial support for Al Qaeda and other extremist groups by members of the Saudi royal family.”
Among the documents were a statement from an Al Qaeda operative in Bosnia who said the Saudi High Commission had funded the terrorist group in the 1990s, and evidence from the U.S. Treasury Department that a Saudi charity, the International Islamic Relief Organization, had been financially supporting Al Qaeda as recently as 2006.
As is typical when the Supreme Court declines to hear an appeal, the court did not give reasons for its decision, Reuters reports.

How strange that “sovereign immunity” did not apply to Afghanistan yet no Afghanis were involved in 911 but Pakistan and Saudi Arabia provably was involved either as financiers or direct participants.

It is not a comment on guilt or innocence.
No surprises here. After doing an investigation on themselves, Bush & Co. came to the conclusion that they had no responsibility in the 9/11 attack and the American public bought it. Now the Supreme Court essentially admitted that the commission report was bullshit in their ruling when it was cited as evidence; they seemed to know that it was full of holes, half-truths, and faith in Bush Administration officials.
Funny, the 9/11 commission report won’t even stand up in our own courts, and still only the daring few are willing to question it.

The Injustices of the Supreme Court of Homeland Plutocracy are above giving reasons to us, the mere citizens. So let me offer it for them:
If this case were to move forward, then the defendants would have access to all that classified information of the events that happened on 9/11/01. The Sunlight of judicial discovery would saturate all those dark spaces and illuminate the crimes of the Bush criminal cabal, showing beyond any reasonable doubt that they committed the false flag operation known as 9/11.

The point of all this is that there is more than enough reason to cast suspicion on what the government has told the American people and the rest of the world about what happened on 9/11/01. Thankfully there are millions of Americans who realize that, as he puts it, the “flat-out sick and delusional” people are actually the ones who for some reason are willing to believe that Bush and Cheney have supposedly told the truth as to what occurred on that fateful day when they have lied concerning so many other vital issues, such as the bogus reasons to invade Afghanistan and Iraq, torture, Hurricane Katrina, veterans’ benefits, etc.

You imply a metamorphosis from a “republic” into a “democracy”. But these terms are not contradictory. A Republic is a structure of government that consists of an executive branch that is not a monarchy; one that is ruled by the People. A Democracy is any government in which the power lies with the People, not with a small plutocracy of elites. So a Republican Democracy is not an oxymoron, it is rather the American way.
Socialism and Fascism are opposites. Fascism is really just another word for Plutocracy in our times: a government ruled by a small group of astronomically wealthy people. We all hate that shit. I never claimed that Bush was behind it though I do believe that Cheney played a key role in what happened. I certainly think that it is more plausible to think that there may have been an inside job regarding 9/11 that it is to believe that 19 [alleged crazed Arabs from the Middle East were able to overpower not only the flight crews but also all the passengers on three airplanes, not with Uzi sub machine guns or pistols or flamethrowers, but with, of all things, box cutters. Furthermore, we are then supposed to accept that four hijacked airplanes were able to out wit not only NORAD and the FAA but also the United States Air Force as well as the most sophisticated and most expensive defense systems on the planet.

Is that supposed to pass for a reasoned counter- argument? I posted a link to a video that makes a very compelling case, based on shadow analysis, for the contention that at least one of the televised plane videos aired on and after 9-11 could not possibly be real — why am I not surprised that you choose not to specifically address its content? Is it because you can’t? I think so.
I invite you once again to explain why no shadow is cast on the tail section of that aircraft as it amazingly just melts into the side of a steel and concrete skyscraper — and while you’re at it please feel free to explain why no discernible bending, crumpling, shearing, or deceleration. “The consensus of opinion is that the Federal Reserve Board has lost an able man. He sold his Texas utilities stock to Insull for ten million dollars, and in 1929 called a meeting and ordered his banks to close out all security loans by September 1. As a result, they rode through the depression with flying colors.”
Predictably enough, all of the big bankers rode through the depression “with flying colors.” The people who suffered were the workers and farmers who had invested their money in get-rich stocks, after the President of the United States, Calvin Coolidge, and the Secretary of the Treasury, Andrew Mellon, had persuaded them to do it.
There had been some warnings of the approaching crash in England, which American newspapers never saw. The London Statist on May 25, 1929 said:
“The banking authorities in the United States apparently want a business panic to curb speculation.”
The London Economist on May 11, 1929, said:
“The events of the past year have seen the beginnings of a new technique, which, if maintained and developed, may succeed in ‘rationing the speculator without injuring the trader.’”
Governor Charles S. Hamlin quoted this statement at the Senate hearings in 1931 and said, in corroboration of it:
“That was the feeling of certain members of the Board, to remove Federal Reserve credit from the speculator without injuring the trader.”
Governor Hamlin did not bother to point out that the “speculators” he was out to break were the school-teachers and small town merchants who had put their savings into the stock market, or that the “traders” he was trying to protect were the big Wall Street operators, Bernard Baruch and Paul Warburg.
When the Federal Reserve Bank of New York raised its rate to six percent on August 9, 1929, market conditions began which culminated in tremendous selling orders from October 24 into November, which wiped out a hundred and sixty billion dollars worth of security values. That was a hundred and sixty billions which the American citizens had one month and did not have the next. Some idea of the calamity may be had if we remember that our enormous outlay of money and goods in the Second World War amounted to not much more than two hundred billions of dollars, and a great deal of that remained as negotiable securities in the national debt. The stock market crash is the greatest misfortune which the United States has ever suffered.”
In other words a “future guarantee”, a “promise” or in the british colonies a “promissory note” - Do you not find that quite odd, that Bernanke does not bring any of that up?

There’s a very simple reason why our federal government will not allow any action to be pursued against the Saudi government. The royal Saudi family controls OPEC. OPEC uses the US dollar as its official currency. This keeps the dollar propped up on the world markets. If our government PO’s the royal Saudi family, they would switch OPEC to the Euro, and the dollar would plummet and lose its status as the world’s main reserve currency…and it would cause the US economy to collapse.
