Giuliani: Democrats cheat as often as Republicans

Former New York mayor and presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani offered a roundabout defense of disgraced Republican South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford — and Republicans as a whole — on Fox News Wednesday.
“This has happened just as often in the Democratic Party,” Giuliani told Fox’s Neil Cavuto. “These problems of romance, sexuality, et cetera, are not confined to Republicans or Democrats or independents.”
Giuliani is no stranger to these matters. His political life suffered some severe blows over the years due to marital infidelity. His messy divorce and subsequent remarriage were dragged into the spotlight during the 2008 presidential campaign, when questions arose over why New York City had picked up the tab for his security detail while he was involved in an affair with his current wife, Judith Nathan.
On Fox News Wednesday, Giuliani offered compassion to Gov. Sanford, who earlier in the day admitted to an extra-marital affair with an Argentinian woman.
“I’m worried about him and his family,” Giuliani said. “Mark is a friend of mine.”
Asked what advice he would give to someone in Sanford’s shoes, Giuliani said: “Tell the truth.”

The problem though is when these ass*ole politicians want to tell everyone else what is moral and what isn’t.
Exactly. It is the hypocrisy, stupid. But what can you expect from the Fux the News Channel where they deceive, you believe.
Do any of you guys or gals happen to have examples of him telling you what is moral and what is not? I know that he did oppose the religious license plates they have in SC. He didn’t lie in a sexual harrassment case about his cheating (hypocrisy there), molest pages, tap toes in a stall (hypocrisy there), do meth with a male prostitute (hypocrisy there), have a relationship with his homeland security director, run a homosexual prostitution ring out of his apartment, get caught with a prostitute as Attorney General, etc. The Sanford example is one of the more benign cases of cheating. He also didn’t wag his finger at us and lie, and drag this out longer than need be. Also I found his press conference to be one of the more honest I have ever seen regarding marital infidelity.
And though nobody wants to hear it, one of the biggest hypocrites ever on this subject was Martin Luther King Jr, he was a man of the cloth and unfaithful.
I don’t know. It just seems whether its sports or politics or movie stars or anybody of prominence or power, fidelity seems to be the exception, not the rule. The only difference between the past and the present is the media never reported on people like FDR, JFK, etc.
Um, he’s a “Republican”, the “party of morals and values”, remember? If he doesn’t adhere to their beliefs, then he shouldn’t wear their banner (more lies for power and riches).. he should be an Independent.
I’m not going to bother going through all of his speeches to find some place where he said “be moral” or “we have moral obligations”; there’s a 99% chance you can find it if you look.. he’s a member of the religious party of America, that’s what they say (and often do NOT do).
Is Giuliani claiming personal experience about this? Is he saying that Democrats cheat as often as Republicans because half of the women he cheated on his wives with were Democrats?

Sure, Dems cheat as often as repugs, BUT it is repugs who hold themselves as morally superior to everyone else. It is repugs who deem themselves the moral authority, the holier-than-thou, sanctimonious arbiters of family values.
Therein lies the problem — the affair is bad enough, and that is not limited to one political party — it is the hypocrisy!
To make matters worse, when Dems get caught, they usually have to leave; when Republicans get caught, they get sympathy, applause, and a welcome home.
Democrats don’t claim to be the “party of family values” like the republiKKKons do. You can’t claim moral leadership and have 1/2 the republiKKKon party destroying their own families by slipping out of their pants every chance they get. The republiKKKons also find the Defense of Marriage Act to be the first commandment of their party but then find any man or woman they can have sex with.
Shameless and deplorable for the “NO-NO” republiKKKons. They ALWAYS claim gays are destroying their marriages when it fact, it’s their penis’ that are destroying their marriages. Thinking with the wrong head will get you in trouble most of the time.
Just ask: PRIME EXAMPLES RepubliKKKon Sens. Craig, Vitter (broke the law by paying prostitutes), Ensign, and now the next to God, Gov. Sanford and least we forget the “Tootie fruitee”Giuliani (had his girlfriend installed at Gracie Mansion while his family was still living there) . And we could go on and on and on with the leader of the “Contract ON America” Newtie Fruitee”. He served his wife divorce papers while she was in the hosptial after cancer surgery. Another stellar republiKKKon representing more of their “family values”. HAHAHAHAHA.
So “nutty” to answer your stupid question, John Edwards would be better than ANY republiKKKon at doing anything. Your party of NO-NO Crackers are at 25% and falling. Don’t you feel kind of stupid following such low lifer republiKKKons? Maybe not if you watch the NO-NO Fox Entertainment channel where they identify republiKKKons as Democrats when they get into trouble.
Well, sure - they’re HUMAN. It certainly doesn’t excuse adulterous Dems, but, Ruthy “9/11″ Guiliani conveniently forgets that it’s not the Dems who are on their soapboxes attempting to legislate morality; it’s not the Dems who are on their soapboxes screaming, “MORALS!” “FAMILY VALUES!”.

By the way Giuliani, your cheat goes way beyond your infidelity. You were mayor on 9/11/2001 and knew they were going to “pull” the buildings. You let thousands of Americans die didn’t you. You also knew those buildings were full of asbetos and didn’t protect those who were saving lives and working there didn’t you.

It isn’t the cheating that is hypocrisy. Holding yourself up to a high enough standard to judge others for what you are doing in private is hypocrisy. When has the Democratic Party every ran on moral wedge issues like the Rethuglican hypocrites?

This from the guy who likes to dress up in women’s clothing, and who has been married how many times due to his multiple infidelities?
No doubt basic human weaknesses afflict everyone - regardless of political persuasion.
But when the self-righteous, right-wing religious “family values” fanatics preach their hypocritical mantra in my face, while wagging their bony little fingers at me - then go off and do the exact opposite - that makes my blood boil. I’m hopeful that there is a special place in hell reserved for people like this, who feel they are the exception to all moral and ethical rules, and therefore justified in what they do.
I have never met a Democrat or anyone of the progressive persuasion who has ever tried to impose their values on me or anyone else. Therein lies the difference that defines us.
Jesus may forgive Mark Sanford and the rest of the Republican self-righteous right, but I won’t.
Democrats don’t try to legislate morality, whereas “family values” are 3/4s of the Rethug platform. Hypocrites like Giuliani and Sanford and Gingrich and Craig *deserve* to be raked over the coals, and have NO right to point fingers at the Dems.

As everyone else already pointed out it is the hypocrisy involved that makes this case intolerable. Further more, if we were to compile lists of names I assure you there are FAR more documented cases of republicans cheating on their spouses than are there Democrats.

I think people are missing the picture here. We had a sec., who worked for us, that took 17.000 of our money, for her own personal use ,and we called the police ….It is called stealing..You cannot steal from your employer, give gifts to your girlfriends from our coffers or go to see your girlfriends..Affairs come and go in both parties, its part of life but stealing from your employees and placing your girlfriends in jobs to gratify yourself thus stealing from taxpayers is criminal..

Yes, Rudy.. various humans of both/all parties cheat. And those individuals are not worthy of the Public Trust (their families can’t even trust them, why should we?) and should therefore NOT be in Politics.
