Ed Schultz: Dick Cheney ‘will do anything’ for power

CIA director Leon Panetta stirred up controversy last week when he was quoted in an interview as saying that former Vice President Dick Cheney, in his criticism of the Obama administration, almost seems to be “wishing that this country would be attacked again, in order to make his point.”
MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough saw Panetta’s remark as a good topic for debate when his fellow MSNBC host Ed Schultz appeared on Tuesday’s Morning Joe.
“Let’s pick a topic that’ll get us really angry,” Scarborough proposed to Schultz. “Leon Panetta and Dick Cheney. Do you agree with the CIA director that it’s almost as if Dick Cheney hopes Americans will die so he gains some political advantage?”
“Absolutely,” Schultz replied.
“You believe the former vice president wants Americans to die in a terrorist attack so he can regain a political advantage?” Scarborough repeated incredulously.
“You got it, Joe,” Schultz agreed. “I think Dick Cheney’s all about power. I think Dick Cheney is all about seeing this country go conservative and a hard right wing, and I think he’ll do anything to get it that way.”
“I must say, I’m stunned,” Scarborough responded. “I could never imagine thinking that of a Democrat or a liberal … that a political opponent of mine wanted blood to be shed of Americans so they could gain an advantage in the polls.”
“That’s Dick Cheney,” Schultz affirmed. “I think he’s one of the most ruthless politicians in the history of this country. … He’s setting the narrative up so he can do, ‘I told you so.’”
“I’m just not willing to go there,” Scarborough retorted. ‘I believe Dick Cheney’s doing this because he believes, like me, some policies that have been implemented make America less weak [sic].”
Scarborough’s co-host Mike Brzezinski attempted to mediate, suggesting that “it would have been much better if [Cheney] had made a really intense attempt to talk to the White House. … I feel like he just went to the public arena and made some really strong statements about our president. … There was something inelegant about it.”
“Barack Obama and his supporters have been calling Dick Cheney evil for two years,” Scarborough objected. “If people called me evil, I don’t think I would call up, ‘Hey, can I come over and talk.’ … He’s been called evil for 2-3 years, and I don’t know that he’s going to pick up the phone.”

Joe’s wrong . . . I’m not one of Obama’s “people” and I’ve been calling Cheney evil for almost 9 years. He IS evil.
Thanks to Big Ed & Bill Maher for simply telling the truth. On CNN Maher nailed the Democratic Party as simply being the Republican Party he grew-up with. “Obama is not a liberal. He is just less owned by Corporate America.

If Cheney gave a rat’s ass about keeping America safe, he’d say, “Look, Mr. President, I have some strong feeling about this, and because I’d do anything to protect my country, I’d like to give you some advice based on my experience.” A conciliatory figure like Obama would be obliged to take him up on the offer, and they might actually have a productive conversation. Instead, Cheney is simply setting it up for an “I told you so” in the unhappy circumstance we are hit again, which I believe is inevitable.
Consider his recent speech to Muslims. Obama is engaging bin Laden in a direct competition for the hearts and minds of young Arabs worldwide. It is therefore far better for al Qaeda to have an anti-Muslim crackpot in office. With a man like Obama as leader of the US, al Qaeda will want to hit us like never before. And because Cheney is out there setting up the “I told you so,” it gives them the terrorists a perfect opportunity to strike now and make Cheney’s political gambit come true, in the hopes of influencing the next election to their benefit.
So Cheney is directly and materially aiding and abetting the enemy with his speech. This further establishes what we already know: this man give not a shit for keeping us safe, and when he talks about “America” he’s talking about the top one percent of income earners with whom he rubs elbows while they rob the Treasury.
This mother fucker is not just a war criminal. He is a traitor.

I am an ardent critic of Obama because i am a true progressive and Obama just plays one on TV.
But!….I believe that Ed is exactky correct. Cheney is a monster, which is why he is more hated than bin Laden. Richard B. Cheney is a terrorist in no uncertain terms.
I do not support the death penalty, in fact I think it should be abolished nationally like the rest of the western world, but in this instance, I firmly believe Dick Cheney should die for his crimes because he does not value the lives of Americans and holds no loyalty whatsoever to his country, only to his own family and the Republican Party and his own personal political power.
Schultz is 100% correct of course. Cheney has no problem with Americans dying to further his political agenda, which is total Plutocracy.
It is highly probable that Cheney already is responsible for orchestrating the 9/11 false flag event (PNAC’s desired “Pearl Harbor”) in order to justify attacking Iraq. (It’s an act of treason so huge that the citizens could never believe that you were responsible, eh Dead-Eye?)

A petition such as this may have been effective in the 1960s. But this ain’t the 60s, unfortunately. These Bush/Cheney war criminal parasites in congress have ignored ALL efforts “we” have made since 2000 because “we” are not their owners. Here’s a question - why is it that dick head cheney is no longer VP, but we STILL CAN’T learn who was in the super duper top secret energy meeting between cheney and HIS energy staff. As evil as Israelis who persecute Palestinians because the one, true Yahweh God promised them the holy land instead of the one, true Palestinian Allah God who promised the holy land to Palestinians. I’m with everyone else on this one. Even if that treasonous criminal isn’t actually hoping for another attack, he really doesn’t care if Americans are killed or not, as long as his pathetic, evil, vile ass is not held accountable for his crimes.
Can someone explain why this prick (and his dim bulb daughter) can get all the air time they want, when they want it? These people are not only discredited whackos, they’re private citizens. When you sign on to something like PNAC that calls for “A new Pearl Harbor to kick start our policy”, there is NO debate of what he wants. He’s SAID IT.. he wants an attack so there is a “reason” to push the agenda.
And look at fact and history if you don’t believe he would do it.. look at Sept. 11, 2001. We knew we were under threat of the attack, he was running war games simulating the attack ON THAT DAY (despite the official position of “we could never have imagined”.. of COURSE you could, you were WAR GAMING IT!); someone failed to get those fighter jets PROPERLY scrambled after 4 planes that were flying around off course (and being watched on RADAR as the only 4 blips without transponders) for over an HOUR lost their transponders.. And the DICK was the one who was responsible for giving the order to intercept/kill.. Hmm.. odd, right?
Or, those historical FACTS imply that the DICK knew, watched, and LET IT HAPPEN, just like we did with Pearl Harbor (for those that don’t know, we knew the Japanese were on the way, our war ships in the area were _ordered_ to let them pass unchallenged).

And don’t forget about the 20 minute operational screwup where the BBC talked for five minutes on live TV about WTC #7 collapsing - except the building was totally intact and shown on the live TV shot right behind the commentators as they were speaking - since it collapsed 20 minutes AFTER the BBC reported the collapse had happened.

Here is an intellectual test: Which of the two hypotheses is more probable: A) that the 20 minute gap is due to a supernatural event, or B) that the 20 minute gap is due to a conspiracy.

Schultz missed his cue. Cheney would probably wish for anything that might justify his past actions, considering he’s facing global scrutiny, condemnation, and possible prosecution for them.
Schultz statement should not be considered a remarkable, derogatory, or inflammatory statement against Mr. Cheney, but more an attempt at understanding a man who continually insists demon terrorists are constantly threatening this country.
It’s too bad that while Cheney was busy bombing the terrifying demons, whether real or imagined, American criminals ran away with the banks, corrupted government and broke state and town hall budgets.
